Sky Fantasy Football Arrives At The Scout

We’re delighted to announce that the Sky Fantasy game will be our second supported game this season, with an official Fantasy Football Scout League now open, complete with a rather nice prize for the winner.

The Scout League will go hand in hand with an array of coverage of the Sky Fantasy game for the upcoming season. You may have missed Sky’s early launch last week: the headlines are, the game is free to play and there’s £25,000 for the overall winner.

Over the season, we’ll be producing a weekly focus on the movers and shakers within the Scout League, giving airtime to those at the top of the leaderboard and the standout performers in any given Gameweek.

Prior to the big kick-off, we’ll also delve into the rule set and roll out our analysis of player picks over the next few weeks before the season gets underway on Saturday August 18.

As far as prizes go, the overall Scout League winner will pick up a Samsung Blu Ray home cinema system worth up to £600 – not to be sniffed at. We’re also hoping to get a monthly prize sorted, too; stay tuned for more on that.

      Different rules to do with competitions in different countries.

      Sky give out big to UK only.
      FPL give barely anything to all.

      Both avoid legal issues, neither is perfect.

    Interesting decision to cover it. While it's no bad thing I thought such a game that feels considerably less polished than FPL would turn off the Scouts, particularly as during the Euros they were looking at new and challenging formats like Picklive.

      I think it's great Isacki. I'd like to see more coverage of different games otherwise it could be seen as FPLScout.

      People coming to the site fresh could choose a game they felt comfortable with given their available time and wish to be greatly involved or not.
      Games of 30 transfers all season need to be set up well with a longer term view of the players. But once done requires far less time each week imo.

      B) So much nicer to play in during the winter. Got myself the lovely blue/blue away kit long sleeve last year. I was the only one playing in just a football shirt (and trouser etc) during the snow.

    I would say it is a shame to focus on only two games imo, makes this site looking more and more professional and less and less of an FF community (but not blaming it, we all need to make a living).

    Other FF games should also be looked at imo (tff with very good prizes and FA cup coverage, the sun with very good prizes, Metro with very innovative pts system, picklive with very innovative features and money to be earned on a weekly basis).

      I suspect that you are in the minority in playing every game.. The thing is if people keep posting RMT's and asking for other advice it gets far too consusing as to which game they are talking about. I'm sure most of the info on offer here is useful to all formats anyway.

        Nope I will play 2 or 3 games, but I like to know what is the offer and this site was really good last year at explaining all the games. Again, cant blame mark and co for promoting Sky over the others and getting remunarated for it, but the downside is that it is getting more and more professional here.

          I don't think that's grumpy Big01, just a point of view. I said something similar to Isacki a few posts up.
          I play several games too and would be happy to see some minor coverage of them.

          Nothing like the same scale, but as Wild Rover above says, lots of the info and articles are interchangable to all or most games.

    i know that this is a Fantasy Football site and it is in not purely dedicated to FPL but this latest Sky addition doesn't really thrill me.

    in the past, even the UCL and Euro 2012 posts and rules got in the way and got up my nose and now we have this to contend with too.

    any chance of the forum format being introduced with sub forums dedicated to the various games?

    in other words, i don't want you Sky and UCL players clogging up my view here.

        I won the Russian league, but Uefa doesn't give prizes to Africans. I'm South African. I'm still angry about it days later. I don't want to win FPL only to be told "You can't have a VIP trip to watch the Arsenal. You're non-European." You know, we used to have signs like that in my country. "This bus is for Euopeans only."

    FPL reminds me of english football before the PL
    everything was about the love of the game and the pride, with no to very little money involved
    sky and other big money prize games are the same as big spending teams swallowing the small teams
