With Eden Hazard flourishing and attracting huge Fantasy investment, Tottenham’s Gareth Bale is already in danger of becoming a forgotten man just a couple of Gameweeks into the season. The Welshman returned double figures for both goals and assists last term and began the season hotly tipped to contest the top position in the midfield rankings. However, already we’re seeing Fantasy managers lose faith, no doubt shifting allegiance to Chelsea’s Belgian.

The arrival of Andre Villas-Boas has, to this point, failed to spark Spurs and Bale has epitomised their slow start to the season. With a hefty price tag around his neck, it’s clear that Fantasy managers cannot sit still on an ailing heavy-hitter but are the doubters right to shed Bale and move on?

In this latest article for members, we examine Bale’s numbers so far, assessing the averages gathered to this point in comparison to last season’s data in attempt to assess how the arrival of Villas-Boas has affected his form and his potential to deliver Fantasy returns.

        I don't think he will be far off match fitness in fairness. He played in a few pre season games and was on the bench for our first game.

      I'm sure he will, at least after a week or two. Jol got him because he knows him and what he's capable of. I'm also sure he would have got assurances of gametime - he wouldn't turn down Juve and Fiorentina to sit on the bench again.

          That was last year - this year I'm in mini-leagues for money and I've broken with my self-imposed m*ckem ban. Cuellar would have dirtied his boots (and my team) last week if they could afford a proper pitch.

        I mean, he's definitely explosive and could be a decent option but Sunderland > QPR and Fletcher is Sunderland's only decent striker

        #SAFC enquiry on Dempsey correct, but historic. Can't see him moving to Wearside. It'll be a LB & nowt else I'd think.

      Dyer has played on the right so far so technically if Hernandez is a right winger it's a worry for him. But I think he can play both flanks if required and Routledge has always looked number two to him.
