Fantasy Champions League Now Open

As many of you have already noticed, the official UEFA Champions League Fantasy game is now up and running. With Matchday 1 still 10 days away, the current break in domestic action gives us the perfect excuse to start assessing the fixtures and assembling our 15-man squads before the big kick-off:

Matchday 1 gets underway on Tuesday September 18 and the first night’s action hands City a trip to the Bernabeu to face Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid, while Arsenal are also on the travels, with Olivier Giroud returning to face his previous employers, Montpellier. Chelsea get their defence up and running the following evening with a home clash against Juventus, while United welcome Galatasaray to Old Trafford.

Once again, we shall be offering coverage across the Matchdays for those in the community who plan on participating. At the moment, we’re also considering the possibility of running with another Champions League game in conjunction but for now, here’s the official Scout League code for the UEFA Fantasy game:

  If you have Fabio, you could double up with Rafael for kicks. It counts as doubling up because they're the same person and both rubbish at defending.

  Difficult to say, I might find a way for him but at the moment they are defending horribly.
  Their fixtures are relatively poor as well after this week, and the way they are playing they will probably concede in most of those.

  As a Sunderland fan, I can reassure you that we don't have anything like the squad depth to allow for McClean to be benched before a crucial midtable six-pointer against Liverpool (especially with two midfielders currently covering the full-back positions), particularly for something that has no bearing on our club.

Reading BBC Sports pre game notes... the Belgium starting XI is worth nearly 200m... 😯

Even though they are third seeds, they must be favourites for the group... will be difficult for us to even make the play offs... but I'm still eternally hopeful, and have a bit more confidence in our boys this time around...

  So I just selected the players randomly from the selection box on the right... then once I had a team picked, I went back to the transfers page to pick my team properly...
