Fantasy Champions League Now Open

As many of you have already noticed, the official UEFA Champions League Fantasy game is now up and running. With Matchday 1 still 10 days away, the current break in domestic action gives us the perfect excuse to start assessing the fixtures and assembling our 15-man squads before the big kick-off:

Matchday 1 gets underway on Tuesday September 18 and the first night’s action hands City a trip to the Bernabeu to face Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid, while Arsenal are also on the travels, with Olivier Giroud returning to face his previous employers, Montpellier. Chelsea get their defence up and running the following evening with a home clash against Juventus, while United welcome Galatasaray to Old Trafford.

Once again, we shall be offering coverage across the Matchdays for those in the community who plan on participating. At the moment, we’re also considering the possibility of running with another Champions League game in conjunction but for now, here’s the official Scout League code for the UEFA Fantasy game:

191091-421065

Myself and Andy are currently sorting out a schedule and are planning to roll out an article focussing on the Player Price List over the next few days or so. Keep ‘em peeled for more.

Okay, so currently on 233 points, 16984 overall rank and top of my mini league.

Already used free transfer at beginning of gameweek to do Siggy to Hazard.

So do I stick with my current team (linked) as it's a long old season,
or do I try to consolidate my lead by getting this (rather awesome) wildcard team with 0.4 to spare:

    Jussi, Mignolet
    Baines, Cuellar, Demel, Hughes, Gorkss
    Hazard, Michu, Toure, Guthrie, Maloney
    RVP, Tevez, Torres

Despite how good the above looks, not wildcarding means going without
RVP for a couple of weeks as I'm not taking a hit,
but even if he goes mental, the rest of my current team should keep me within touching
distance even if I lose my lead. And I'd still have my wild card, whereas my main competitor in ML has used his.
Buuuut playing the wildcard would perversely, actually be playing it safe as it would remove my competitors main way of catching me up. (RVP)
What to do, what to do. I think I should sit on my hands and do nothing!!

    Damn the long international break!!!

Have similar problems with my side but it isnt enough to justify a wildcard. Really depends how essential you see RVP being in the short to long term?

I guess he's probably essential long term, but short term is the question really. If he bangs in 4 against wigan next weekend I'd probably drop 100,000 places and from top, to halfway down my mini league.
But Wigan aren't that bad are they this year that a drubbing is a given?

If I can make it to the January wildcard without him hurting me too much I'll be in a very strong position, assumiing the players I already have continue to do well. (Torres, Michu, Hazard, Baines, Toure, Kagawa)

Kagawa may go for Cazorla if I decide to wait on RVP, assuming Kagawa doesn't go mad against Wigan himself.

Wigan aren't but United are looking like they are needing 2 or 3 goals to win a game at the minute. Price by January could be a problem tho, 13.4 already. Or a gamble on Rooney when he returns, he will get hauls aswell.

Highest scorer in the Championship last year and he's scored against both Manchester teams. With Southampton playing very attacking football and always looking like scoring, with Lambert central to every attack. That's enough for me.

      Yet you have Graham!
Look at Lambert vs Graham in the comparison tool and it's an absolute no-brainer. 0 chances created vs 9, Lambert's scored 2 and got an assist against the top 2 sides in the comp, Graham has had 1 goal vs qpr WHM and SUN and Lambert is clearly far more influential to Southamptons attack than Graham for Swansea..
That's what the Lambert love is all about.

Nene IMO at 6m mid for PSG is a steal. 49 goals in 93 apps and the league second highest scorer last year says enough.

Lallana anybody? Just having a peak at his stats and they are pretty decent. Seems to be getting a fair ammount of action in the box.

can I get some opinions on this please:

    Jourdren - Malafeev
    Evra - Cadu - Vida - Arbeloa - Alba
    Hazard - Nene - Holtby - Sammir - Pirlo
    Messi - Ronaldo - Hulk

Ah, was waiting to see Holtby on an RMT. Good shout.

The Jourdren pick is interesting, however I honestly think Montpellier is merely the 3rd best team in that group.

Yeah, was really struggling to get two keepers who alternate at home, however, if I ship Hulk to Soldado and do Jourdren to PSG's keeper, this would be much better, yes?

RVP and Messi always play on the same day, so is a combo of Ronaldo+RVP/Messi better? Then you get great captain candidates for both days?

Looking back at their fixtures, I think I am better off going the Hulk route than Ronaldo, saves 4m, and will have similar returns.
