We start Gameweek 5 at the Liberty Stadium, as Michael Laudrup’s Swansea host Everton. The Dugout Discussion is open, so come in and follow all the day’s action amongst fellow fantasy football managers. The team news is in and there’s one or two surprises…

Swansea XI: Vorm, Rangel, Tate, Williams, Davies, Ki, de Guzman, Michu, Hernandez, Routledge, Graham.

Everton XI: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Jagielka, Baines, Osman, Pienaar, Coleman, Fellaini, Mirallas, Anichebe.

Following their defeat at Aston Villa last time out, Nathan Dyer and Leon Britton drop to the bench with Ki Sung Yueng and Pablo Hernandez coming in.

Having scored on Monday night against Newcastle, Victor Anichebe earns a starting berth, replacing the injured Nikica Jelavic.

There’s another five Premier League fixtures to enjoy after Swansea and Everton do battle – so plenty of fantasy points on offer all round. The Dugout Discussion chatroom is the place to see them roll in, which can be accessed right here.

    Why are people acting like this is the first time FPL has delayed in awarding an assist? Chill the hell out. Sheesh

    Assists are awarded to the player from the goal scoring team, who makes the last touch before the goal is scored.

    If after this touch, an opposing player touches the ball outside the penalty area altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is given, except if this intervention directly results in an own goal.

    In the event of a penalty or free-kick, the player earning the penalty or free-kick gets an assist if a goal is directly scored, but not if he takes it himself, in which case no assist is given.

    All assists are reviewed daily but remain provisional until verified by the Press Association. For the avoidance of doubt, points awarded in-game are subject to change until the Gameweek closes. Once a Gameweek closes, no further adjustments to points will be made.

      But, miralas took two bites to get it in the net, therefore he was the last person to touch the ball, with the first shot, so no assist.

      That will explain why it is not a Pienaar assist, yet when Gerrard kicked it into a player's hand for a free-kick, he got the assist when Suarez scored on the kick.

      Mirelles put it on the cross bar. He plays for the scoring team. He was the last person to touch the ball before he put it in. It is an interesting one as there should be an extension to the rule stating that if the person shoots and misses then he is the last one to touch the ball to differentiate between a scorer dribbling then scoring.

    Haven't seen it, but according to BBC Pienaar crossed it, then mirallas shot, it was saved and hit the bar, then mirallas tapped it in - therefore according to the FPL rules it is not an assist, as Mirallas (FPL wise) assisted himself ....
    (Pienaar owner) ... so it sucks but theres 45 mins left yet!

      Yeah but isn't it really similar to Sterling's assist last week where he crossed it to Suarez, Suarez shot, got his rebound and shot again?

        The touch from Vorm was inside and Pienaar was the the player who got the last touch before the goal was scored. The post doesn't come into it. Vorm saved it onto the post, neither should affect the assist

          The assist is going to be given I feel. Pretty sure something like this has happened before however these ones are always debatable considering when a different player hits the post (even if it is saved) and a different player scores the rebound it counts as the first player's assist. So Mirallas has technically done the exact same thing.

      I looked at that, I'm convinced Suarez touched the ball the first time I think the defender touched it, not Suarez.

    As I understand it Mirallas took a shot, Vorm pushed it onto the bar, then Mirallas put in the rebound?

    If so then surely it can't be a Pienaar assist as Mirallas hits the bar, then scores so the last Everton player to touch the ball before the goal was Mirallas

      But what then happens if someone scores by going on a dribble? They were the last player on their side to touch the ball before the goal! There is no provision in the rules saying the player has to shot and miss in order to assit themselves

    My Swansea defence double-up has been a huge failure but seeing how Rangel always ends up in scoring or assisting positions, I keep persisting. Vorm always gets save points, 6 already in this game. I will persist with this strategy until Chico comes back and see if they get better defensively.

    Only exception would be if an opponent player touched it outside of the box.
