It’s a blockbuster Sunday in the Premier League, as two city rivals and two championship rivals face each other in back-to-back games. The Dugout Discussion opens for our first game, the small matter of the Merseyside Derby…

Everton XI: Howard, Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Naismith, Osman, Neville, Mirallas, Fellaini, Jelavic.

Liverpool XI: Jones, Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Jose Enrique, Fernandez Saez, Sahin, Gerrard, Allen, Sterling, Suarez.

David Moyes gets a huge boost in the form of Marouane Fellaini, who has passed fit and starts up front for the Toffee’s. As for Liverpool, they welcome back Pepe Reina but opt to leave him on the bench, meaning Brad Jones keeps his spot. Elsewhere, Jose Enrique gets a rare start courtesy of a Glen Johnson injury picked up midweek.

Before proceedings at Goodison Park conclude, Newcastle United host West Brom, and Southampton welcome the visit of Tottenham Hotspur (both games kick-off at 3p.m). Arguably the biggest game of the day kicks off at 4p.m however, as Manchester United travel to table-toppers Chelsea.

      Havent looked at your team but a) ivan and torres reds off in cup match midweek, and b) berba apparently played with the injury so might even be fine for next week, and c) nobody knows the extent of Berbs injury.

      Yaya seems to be your only worry as of this second in time.

    I think some of you seem to be forgetting that we have the privilege of watching everything 5 times over in slow motion, the referees don't.

    That said, I don't think the ref has been that bad, perhaps Torres' red was harsh but he did go over very easily with little to no contact. The linesman had a split second to see whether or not Hernandez was offside, mistakes happen to everyone and every club gets decisions that go against them sometimes.

    Get over it.

      Good point. The speed that everything is happening in these games is ridiculous and human error will always be a factor.

        They need to do what other sports do and change the rules so that the game is able to be officiated in a reliable way.

          Yeah that needs to be considered. Tennis, Rugby, NFL have all adapted and are officiated in a much fairer way. Football is chaos most of the time. Is that not why we enjoy it so much though?

        I can think of many times when it has gone against us. E.g Drogba offisde goal a few years ago which won them the league....Ba's penalty against us at Old Trafford which was a clear good tackle by rio.

    What do you guys feel Torres's exaggeration action (read dive if you wish) on the minimal contact (but some contact most definitely) from Evans deserved the second yellow which led to the red card?
