Monitor – Santi Cazorla

On an almost-weekly basis, Santi Cazorla records stand-out Opta statistics without producing Fantasy returns. The Spaniard’s role in “the hole” for Arsenal affords him plenty time to wreak havoc in the final third but with a single goal in his last four Gameweeks and without an assist in his last six, many Fantasy managers are starting to jump ship.

There is no doubt Cazorla is a wonderful talent but when mid-price alternatives such as Marouane Fellaini and Kevin Nolan have bettered his Fantasy Premier League (FPL) score from similar roles for Everton and West Ham respectively, and James Morrison is just a single point behind the former Malaga man, Cazorla’s price tag weighs heavy on our budgets. In this latest article for Members, we compare his performances over the past four Gameweeks to his opening seven appearances, while also taking a look at Cazorla’s home and way displays over the course of the season so far.

Since returning from international duty in Gameweek 8, there’s been a definite drop in Cazorla’s statistics. Earlier this month, Arsene Wenger admitted fatigue has played a part in the playmaker’s performances – bearing in mind Spain face a long-haul flight home from Panama after this evening’s late kick-off, the Gunners boss has a potential headache prior to Saturday lunchtime’s north London derby:

“Cazorla played 17 games since the start of the season and 17 games of complete intensity and therefore of course he’s a little bit less fresh at the moment.”

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    Hi guys,

Which do you think of the following with 2 FT:-

    a)Hazard to Silva
    Tevez to Suarez.

Just getting a little bit stressed with how much game time Tevez will be getting as Dzeko keeps on getting amongst the goals.

    OR

    b)Hazard to Fellaini
    Lambert to Suarez
    Pienaar to Brunt

This leaves me with no Chelsea coverage. Can not decide.

As expected, no Cabaye for France as he missed training. Giroud starts though.

    My WC ream

    Ruddy/Federici

    Baines/cuellar/Cameron/Gorkss/Stam

    Bale/silva/Fellaini/Michu/Cabaye

    Hernandez/Berba/Suarez

I will switch one of Michu/Cabaye for Walcott once his injury situation clears up. I need that extra bit of quality in MF to make up for punt on Hernandez (which can backfire spectacularly).

Apart from crappy goalkeepers, is there any flaw in this line up? I want to carry this through the Jan WC, with only RvP and Mata entering the team at some point.

How much money do you have left with that team ?
Hernandez will most likely start 1-2 games and will be rotating with Kagawa (when back), young and welbeck.
Its not a bad idea if you can either upgrade him to RVP somehow, Or do Hernandez->Ba and Suarez -> RVP the week after.

Not a fan of Cabaye on the team either- too expensive for the points return. What do you think of getting Sterling for Cabaye and Mata for Michu ?

I would be concerned if Michu Fellaini and Suarez all get a yellow this week..

Again, this is all coming from a guy with a sh!tty rank 🙂

I was just in the members section comparing RVP and Hernandez in the last game. I had to double Hernandez's threat stat because he only played half the match, and it gave an interesting comparison. RVP is the better player (higher ICT), but Hernandez has other advantages 😉

I would rather Ba to Berba. Hold on to Aguero, once City goes out of CL, he will turn it on in EPL. May not start this week though.

If you are doing Aguero to Berba, then I would suggest Pienaar to Fellaini.

The problem with that game was that, after we came back to 2-1, we couldn't hold tight at the back... A problem I've seen too many times recent years... Although we got our confidence up coming back from 0-4 against Germany... That was one of the greatest games we have done in many years mate... I loved it! 🙂

True, however I though walcotts goal was lucky.
Highlight of the euros was Zlatans goal vs France. Was goal of the tournament for me.

And was an amazing comeback vs Germany. Can't believe that result still.

        does it really matter?

the fact is people do and thus if he was potentially injured they would shirley like to know about it?

may sound mad but if nolan is my 5th mid is there value in just selling him and also sacrifice ba

and getting 2 players who rotate well

In this case fletcher and HBA

play fletcher in sunderland home matches and HBA in newcastle home games.

HBA is a poor pick, he is just not peforming at the level of last season. Just keep Ba unless he's out long-term

Not if Newcaslte continue to play 4-4-2 no, it does not suit him

Keep Ba and get a Sunderland mid for DGW.

Steven Fletcher's price is tumbling. He only fell to 7.1 the other night, and masses are still shipping him out.

Sunderland looked half-decent vs Everton and created chances, and their fixtures turn nice very soon, coupled with the DGW.

    3rd striker option?

This. Or Taarabt to Sterling. Rotates ok with Maloney and doesn't play for QPR. Would give you an extra .2 to work with too.
