Rush. The best form of goalkeepers for the playground. A long-haired Canadian prog-rock outfit. A mustachioed goal sniffer and, sadly, a description of how Granville and myself had to approach this latest episode of the podcast.

With our studio slot limited, we had to skinny things up and turn this one out double-time. Nonetheless, in 26-minutes, we touched on all the regulars, whilst scattering the silence in between with the usual sniping between the pair of us. It makes you wonder what we waste the other twenty minutes on every week.

Not to worry. Enjoy what you can of this little taster and look ahead to next week’s full-fat return, when we’re planning a new feature and a new voice.

    roscola says:

A while ago there was a goalkeeper rotation article. FFS reckon the gold-plated cadillac of GK rotations for the rest of the season is Chesney-Bego.

If Stoke-Swansea is off then I have no keepers (much to the delight of the rather uncharitable Triggerlips). So I could do Rudd > Chesney for a hit and hope to keep the rotation as a “differential” to pay off the hit long-term.

Lots of money tied up in keepers there but then I do have a big budget. Should I? Or should I push that cash upfield?

I’ve gone for that GK rotation … justified by the fact I got Begovic really early and Szcz has decreased in price since the start. It’s a hefty amount in GKs but seems to be a relatively cheap way into some decent defences, with players who are nailed on.

I asked something like this on the previous page. If you are happy with it for the long haul it works mathematically–you’re unlikely to lose points on the deal. My problem is I don’t want to lose Migs for one of Chesney/Jaask, and I don’t really want to spend the money to upgrade Bunn.

I’d be gobsmacked if the Swansea game is on tomorrow. I live in the west country and the snow is a good few inches deep and its worse in South Wales. You never know but I’d wager that’ll be off.

Going to hold off my transfer…but the best bet may be getting Arsenal or West Ham in….not because they will play twice but by Wed should have a game.
