Rush. The best form of goalkeepers for the playground. A long-haired Canadian prog-rock outfit. A mustachioed goal sniffer and, sadly, a description of how Granville and myself had to approach this latest episode of the podcast.

With our studio slot limited, we had to skinny things up and turn this one out double-time. Nonetheless, in 26-minutes, we touched on all the regulars, whilst scattering the silence in between with the usual sniping between the pair of us. It makes you wonder what we waste the other twenty minutes on every week.

Not to worry. Enjoy what you can of this little taster and look ahead to next week’s full-fat return, when we’re planning a new feature and a new voice.

  1. you should use the chat up line "did you ever get snow in your eye". If the woman knows what you really mean your onto a winner.

  2. Fat Frank has agreed to join the Galaxy. Guess I'll go see him play once, what the heck.

    1. Has he?

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
        1. oh! even that article says 'According to goal.com'

          • 2 years, 11 days ago
    2. Do you ever post a source?? Tottenham were on the verge of signing Negredo according to you

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
    3. I strongly believe (and wish) he will be allowed to play for Chelsea for 1 more year..

  3. A while ago there was a goalkeeper rotation article. FFS reckon the gold-plated cadillac of GK rotations for the rest of the season is Chesney-Bego.

If Stoke-Swansea is off then I have no keepers (much to the delight of the rather uncharitable Triggerlips). So I could do Rudd > Chesney for a hit and hope to keep the rotation as a "differential" to pay off the hit long-term.

Lots of money tied up in keepers there but then I do have a big budget. Should I? Or should I push that cash upfield?

    • 2 years, 11 days ago
    1. I'll be running with the Bego/Chesney rotation. It'll be worth the extra cash

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
      1. I have wc'd & have bego n Szczy

        • 2 years, 11 days ago
    2. I've gone for that GK rotation ... justified by the fact I got Begovic really early and Szcz has decreased in price since the start. It's a hefty amount in GKs but seems to be a relatively cheap way into some decent defences, with players who are nailed on.

    3. I asked something like this on the previous page. If you are happy with it for the long haul it works mathematically--you're unlikely to lose points on the deal. My problem is I don't want to lose Migs for one of Chesney/Jaask, and I don't really want to spend the money to upgrade Bunn.

    4. Very interesting. Nice to be in such esteemed company :)

  4. and what's this seasons trend?

removing all pubic hair or thinning out and leaving a little manly tuft?

    • 2 years, 11 days ago
    1. you are way too interested in this topic.

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
      1. makes a change from talking about the weather.

        • 2 years, 11 days ago
    2. Not sure.

I did read yesterday that the trend for brazilians and pube shaving in general is wiping out pubic lice. So I'm pleased you're doing your bit. As it were.

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
      1. i'm nothing if not pubically and hygienically responsible.

        1. Make no mistake, he's delt with a lot. But cheating and lying on that scale and against certain individuals is close to unforgivable.

          • 2 years, 11 days ago
        2. Cancer victims are allowed to cheat?

          • 2 years, 11 days ago
        3. Trolling

          • 2 years, 11 days ago
      2. The scale of the cheating and the lengths to cover it up unreal. 7 consecutive Tour De France titles is just silly though.

        • 2 years, 11 days ago
    2. Like none of you have ever done anything you regretted? So easy for the whiter than whites among us to point the finger in the relative safety of the masses.....

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
  6. For all those that are having really bad weather today...

There is still 9.5 weeks off winter left :)

    • 2 years, 11 days ago
    1. the days are getting longer though

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
      1. True, but colder :(

        • 2 years, 11 days ago
  7. I'd be gobsmacked if the Swansea game is on tomorrow. I live in the west country and the snow is a good few inches deep and its worse in South Wales. You never know but I'd wager that'll be off.

Going to hold off my transfer...but the best bet may be getting Arsenal or West Ham in....not because they will play twice but by Wed should have a game.

    • 2 years, 11 days ago
    1. I would love Swansea vs Stoke to be off.

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
      1. was hoping michu would score a brace tomorrow and punish those who took him out:(

        • 2 years, 11 days ago
        1. Exactly why I would love it to be off.

          • 2 years, 11 days ago

            • 2 years, 11 days ago

    3. Spill the beans Jonty. What's the plan with the scoutcast?

      • 2 years, 11 days ago
      1. Ah, its a secret...but hopefully will be an exciting new addition that involves the community more in the podcast. All will be revealed later. Looking forward to it though.

        • 2 years, 11 days ago

“Last year was quite open for me, I was in good positions, but I was quite lucky because I was getting free kicks and some penalties as well.”
