The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Five – Rush

Rush. The best form of goalkeepers for the playground. A long-haired Canadian prog-rock outfit. A mustachioed goal sniffer and, sadly, a description of how Granville and myself had to approach this latest episode of the podcast.

With our studio slot limited, we had to skinny things up and turn this one out double-time. Nonetheless, in 26-minutes, we touched on all the regulars, whilst scattering the silence in between with the usual sniping between the pair of us. It makes you wonder what we waste the other twenty minutes on every week.

Not to worry. Enjoy what you can of this little taster and look ahead to next week’s full-fat return, when we’re planning a new feature and a new voice.

Grab this fast-food snack via this link, or stream the quick chat via the player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

For those of you online now that haven't seen this, can you answer the question for me?

    http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L6YRJZS

It will take you 1 minute and is quicker than replying.

"In what order would you rank the following midfielders (where 1 = highest scoring and 6 = lowest scoring) over the next 6 games FOLLOWING the double gameweek?"

Looking to get a good 100 responses so I can share some valid results tomorrow evening.

I would have said Torres + Defoe -> anybody + anybody please!!!, but in the dgw context a) looks good and ships out 2 duds anyway.

Unless... you're going for the fab 5 mf in which case b) would be useful for transition.

    Ladies & Gentlemen, thoughts?

    Jaask - (Bego)
    Zabaleta - Gibbs - Demel - (Martin R) - (Harte)
Michu - Bale - Walcott- Mata - Fellaini
Giroud - Van Pricey - (Pog)

    .7 in bank.
    Giroud over Podolski. Two reasons:
    1. The formation used by Wenger in the FA Cup game led to almost 30 shots on goal. Giroud was the spearhead. Poldi was rested - Cazorla in his spot. Wilshere played in an advanced position (one to watch!).
    2. I love Giroud.

For these very valid reasons, I believe Giroud will start- at least in the short term- and be awesome.

My main issue with Giroud is he seems to need 10 chances to score a goal. His finishing was woeful the other night. Wilshere being pushed up just means he and Santi rotate positions a bit, as I don't see Coquelin starting many games.

Haha, I have to agree on the chances comment...
However, he does often assist. I think he has more assists than goals (in all games) this season :/
This is true, but Arteta is on his way back in a couple of gameweeks- no?

Hi guys. Only logged on after a busy day. Sorry for the lazy question.
What games look most likely under threat because of weather.
    Newcastle? Any others?

Many thanks to anyone with a quick reply.
