The Numbers Game – Budget Midfielders

Starting the season priced at just 4.5 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Raheem Sterling quickly cemented his place in many a five man midfield thanks to a consistency of game time under new Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers. Handed a first-team chance in Gameweek 2, the winger rose steadily in price to 5.7 as the bandwagon showed little sign of slowing down but a run of 16 consecutive starts was brought to an end in Gameweek 18, with Rodgers citing signs of fatigue in the youngster’s play:

With the arrival of Daniel Sturridge added to Fabio Borini’s return from injury, the attacking options are increasing for the Merseysiders – having started just three of the last six, Sterling’s owners are starting to get twitchy.   weak rotation team marveaux soon to be bit part player.. try guthrie and puncheon/taraabt much more consistency or just sidwell to guthrie. I wouldnt bet on sterling playing regularly though

    Seriously, my ideal defense would have, and does have, Baines, but that price can't really afford him. Clichy (5.6), Azpil (5.7), Davies, (4.3 (but 4.4 soon)), Shaw (4.0), Cuellar (when fit) (4.6).

      I think it may just be prudent to get 3 budget defenders and stick. The only one that scares me would be no Pearce if i went Turner and no Turner if I went Pearcr. But RDG defence has better form and Pearce is cheaper.

        You should probably stick with that, regardless of what I posted you need to play 3 defenders everyweek, and I suspect your relying on Davies to be your lead rotator. If Clyne or Pearce dont have nice fixtures play Davies regardless. He is more likely to pull of an upset.

Good morning DZ,

Looking for some advice (team linked)... Should I get rid of Lambert and get a replacement? Probably would involve Fletcher but I'm short by 0.1 🙁 so would have to downgrade one of defenders and take -4 hit. Maybe simple Evra > Rafael or Zaba > Clichy?
My cup opponent doesn't for this GW doesn't look so strong so I guess this would be good time to try... Comes down to... Will Fltcher out score Lambert by 4pts?

Any other idea are welcome! Thx lads!

    Thing is, I knew he'd probably start against Reading, it's just I wanted to make my WC full of 100% nailed on players and he didn't fit that criteria. I'm not a fan of expensive headaches like that right now. That said, if he starts looking the business I will consider buying again down the line.

    I'm on my WC, it's not a loss of faith, I still think Ba is a brilliant FPL pick but the rotation risk thing got to me and I decided to cash in while I had a chance to reorganise my team. I'm hoping my alternatives can match him but it feels like a mistake right now...because I'm so nervous about it biting me in the ass.

I think I'm gonna keep Suarez on my WC and not go for Aguero just yet.
I sold Suarez GW9 because I thought he had tough fixtures then, too. (eve, NEW, che) and he scored 8, 9, 9.

  I am with you there. Aguero needs to prove something before I bend my team out of shape to squeeze him in. Don't get me wrong: I have figured out a strategy to make sure I can afford to get him if he comes back blazing, but I see no reason to drop a proven scorer for one who is just back from injury and without clear form.

Not sure if this has been done, is favoured, is allowed, and all that, but I just had a simply wicked idea......... (to each their own, eye of the beholder and all that)

Who are you??? Show us a pic or two of yourself? Since most of us have absolutely no idea who everyone else is, it would be nice I thought to have a face to put with a name. There may even be a few nice looking women lurking in the depths and darkness somewhere eh!!!!

Here is a pic of me and an old mates dad, in Manchester, outside the Oasis gig at Heaton Park a couple years back, and after that a picture of me in St Georges Tavern, St Augustine, Florida, our local bar and a Blue pub!!!

Wonder if there is any way of locking this, but then again it's all about the DZ eh???

    Well you can clearly see the City flag on the wall, and I assure you, this is a Blue town, so you are unfortunately very much mistaken. There is even a Manchester crest on the wall of that pub...quite bizarre frankly.
    
    My idea hasn't been received that warmly so far then eh?
