With the Champions League Semi-Final first leg between Bayern Munich and Barcelona kicking off in just a few hours, it’s time to turn our attentions to TotelFootball as we look to European Fantasy football to hopefully earn us a few bob.

If you’re new to TotelFootball, you can still sign-up and enter our Fantasy Football Scout Private Pool in order to stand a chance of winning this week’s free bet prizes. In addition, any new sign-ups immediately get themselves a free £10 bet with which to play the Main Pool game, which tonight has another £500 prize pool to compete for.

Read on for details of the current Private Pool standings and more on how you can get involved and our player picks for the Final Series. For the full details on TotelFootball, check our earlier article.

Don’t forget that, with the deadline for tonight’s game 7.45pm, we can tweak with our squads after the official squad lists are published.

The Fantasy Football Scout Pool – Current Standings

Ali Kaz leads the way after racking up 86 points in the previous round. His decision to triple up on the Bayern backline paid dividend with a 30 point return, while Dortmund’s Felipe Santana mirrored Cristiano Ronaldo’s 13 point haul as Ali Kaz moved to 329 points, just one ahead of Optimus, who racked up 85 points last time out. He also picked three Bayern players at the back (Manuel Neuer, Philipp Lahm and Dante Bonfim) while Ronaldo, Marco Reus and Zlatan Ibrahimovic combined for a cool 33 points with three goals and a pair of assists between them. Jkane89 tumbles down to third, then, but is just two points off the summit on 327 points.

FFS: Final Series Selections

This evening’s deadline brings with it a tactical twist and one which is likely to have a significant say at the top of the Scout Pool. Once our 15-man squads are submitted for the semi-final first legs, Fantasy managers have no more trades available – essentially, our selections not only account for this Tuesday and Wednesday but for next week’s second legs and also the final, taking in a total of five matches.

The decision, then, is whether to load up on the two teams you reckon will progress to the Wembley showdown on May 25 or spread the risk in order to ensure you have a minimum number of participants. Given that all four teams have a realistic chance of reaching the final, achieving a balance looks tricky – at this point, though, it’s all or nothing and with that in mind, we’re siding with the Spanish teams to progress.

Now we’re down to the last four, Totelfootball have upped the player quota, meaning we can select up to six per team without incurring any points penalties. In goal, we’ve opted for Victor Valdes, with uncertainty still surrounding the Real Madrid keeper situation, this seems the safest option. Our 10 outfield players are equally distributed between Barcelona and Real Madrid, then; Barca full-backs Jordi Alba and Daniel Alves get the nod for their attacking potential, while Madrid’s Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane offer a security of starts for Jose Mourinho’s backline.

In midfield, once again we opt for two players from either side. Xavi and Andres Iniesta get the nod for Barcelona, while Mesut Ozil and Angel Di Maria are our preferred combination for Madrid. Up top, it has to be Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line. Messi is expected to be reinstalled to the Barcelona XI after a recent thigh problem and with the pair potentially having three games apiece to wreak havoc, it seems far too risky to go without either.

Although tonight is the final round for the Scout Pool, it’s worth noting that there will be a six-a-side competition for each remaining fixture – these are pay-to-play and have no bearing on the FFS competition.

To Sign Up to TotelFootball

New Players need to register their account via this link.

Once registered, click the “Home” button in the menu bar and select the Champions League Final Series and click “Play Now”.

Select your team for this weekly game and then click “Continue”.

You can then enter your team into the Main Pool game as well as the FFS Private Pool. Entering our Private Pool is free you can enter the FFS Private Pool without staking money in the Main Pool.

To play the Main Pool game you will need to add a stake for that game. Your stake affects the size of your prize should you finish in the top places in the Main Pool. See the Main Pool Game section for more details on this.

The Main Pool Game – Free Bet Offer

TotelFootball have given every FFScout signup a free £10 bet – this will allow you to test your management skills against the best managers in the main pool, without risk. This means you can participate in the free FFS Private Pool and also chance your arm in the Main Pool. Your selected team can be entered for both simultaneously.

Once you have your team Champions League squad chosen, you then place your stake money for the Main Pool. The amount of stake you invest affects the amount of winnings you claim should your team be amongst the to 10% in the final rankings.

Finally a reminder that TotelFootball is only available to those aged over 18 and over and, if you’re going to take up this offer and play, please gamble responsibly.

    1. Plenty of time left yet

  2. Just as a little barometer here, how many people here want Barca to lose? I would imagine a lot, and I wonder why they've become so unpopular...

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
    1. I'm going for Barca tonight, I'd like to see Dortmunt win the tournament but Barca would be my second choice.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
      1. personally want Bayern to win. Just find myself not wanting Barca to win as they don't excite me

        • 1 year, 7 months ago
    2. I do. They have a superiority complex and I do not like them.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
      1. + I think all this ticcy taccy stuff is boring to watch.

        • 1 year, 7 months ago
        1. I want a Munich Madrid final.

          • 1 year, 7 months ago
          1. Yeah, I think any final would be good but that is the best pick.

            • 1 year, 7 months ago
    3. Barca is all foreplay, no erection.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
    4. I don't mind tbh. I like and dislike both these teams about equally. Just want to see a good game.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
    5. They are too obsessed with the champs league like Mourinho said. Also sick of them getting all the decisions.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
    6. People like change. If you are not a Barca supporter do you really want to see them lifting the CL time and time again?

Messi is always brilliant to watch as are Iniesta and Xavi but it's much more interesting to have strong competition throughout. Dortmund for example have been a breath of fresh air in the CL this season.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
  3. I want Barca OUT.

Jordi Alba is a little girl when the game becomes physical. Man up.

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
    1. Yeh agreed. One of the players i dislike most. Always claiming for goal kicks, and they acts like he was wronged when ref gets it right

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
  4. Muller nearly got cleaned out!!!

  12. Michael Carrick or Sergio Busquets?

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
    1. Carrick. I know this wont be popular because everyone think Busquets is some god. But all he does is play the easy pass and hold position. Defensive midfielder for the world's best team isn't too hard

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
      1. Busquets is excellent technically, he just does't stand out because those around him are more so.

Has won the Euros and the World Cup as well. Carrick has never even been first choice for England.

        • 1 year, 7 months ago
        1. That is true but I think Busquets is a passenger, so to speak

          • 1 year, 7 months ago
    2. lol

      Vanessa Feltz or Vanessa Hudgens?

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
    3. Both good, but can't imagine carrick tikitaka....

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
      1. Can't imagine Busquets taking a tikitackle either.

        • 1 year, 7 months ago
    4. Busquets all day. Criminally underrated as a footballer because he's also a complete twazzock.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
  13. Have no arsenal cover... is that wise?

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
    1. woah thats wierd

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
      1. Weird that it let you

        • 1 year, 7 months ago
        1. yea - i only meant to comment once

          • 1 year, 7 months ago
      2. Wierd looks a bit weird!

        • 1 year, 7 months ago
  14. Not sure really. Better options I suppose?

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
    • 1 year, 7 months ago
  15. predo - Messi to score 2. Game over.

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
  16. poor performance from messi, reminds me alot of bale's performance v man city.

Game may go the same way.

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
  17. What can pep do with this team? They already look so strong, best in Europe, and now bought Goetze ...
Looks like the only way is down...

    • 1 year, 7 months ago
    1. He will come in and ruin what they are good at, being strong at the back and good counter attacking.

Strange choice of move when he could have gone to England.

      • 1 year, 7 months ago
      1. Not strange at all. It's a good league/team.

        • 1 year, 7 months ago

    Seems odd

    • 1 year, 7 months ago

  24. Using my WC next week (in DGW 36), so therefore THIS DECISION IS FOR THIS WEEK ONLY!

    DDG (ars)
Mariappa (QPR) Turner (stk – doubtful) Distin (FUL)
Michu (che) Fellaini (FUL) Bale (wig) Mata (SWA)
RVP (ars) Benteke (SUN) Lambert (WBA)

Subs: Federici (QPR) Walcott (MUN) Sagna (MUN) Demel (mci)

I’m bringing in Bale (for Cazorla) this week, but I need £0.7m more in order to fund it (but I have 2 free transfers so it’s not a problem!). The question is who?!

    A) Wilson/Hooiveld for Sagna
    B) Guzan/Boruc for de Gea
    C) Yaya Toure for Walcott
    D) Tevez/Aguero for van Persie
    Or any other suggestions!

I would REALLY appreciate your wise opinions chaps!
(remember it's for this week only!)
    Cheers :D

“Last year was quite open for me, I was in good positions, but I was quite lucky because I was getting free kicks and some penalties as well.”
