Monitor – David Silva

Filed under: Members - Posted by: Paul

Having failed miserably to defend their title last time out, City’s decision to install Manuel Pellegrini at the helm is a deliberate move away from the more conservative approach favoured by Roberto Mancini. The Chilean’s summer acquisition of forwards Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic, however, while good news for City fans, has led to fears that the up-front rest and rotation policy so favoured by Mancini will once again rear its head.

With a goal and assist over the first couple of Gameweeks, David Silva has thrown his hat in the ring as a real alternative route into an attack that has already racked up six goals – more than any other side in the top-flight. The little Spaniard affords a far greater security of game time, with his creativity crucial to creating chances for Pellegrini’s frontmen and ahead of a home clash with Hull, his Fantasy bandwagon is in overdrive as Eden Hazard and Juan Mata owners look to the City playmaker as a premium midfield alternative.

In this latest article for members, we analyse Silva’s performances so far. Check on his progress compared to last season and assess his credentials at the most sought-after midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game ahead of the weekend’s fixtures.

  1. Hull's Steve Bruce is to make a fresh swoop for Nicklas Bendtner.

    Oh dear 😆

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. if he is in , i think his price should be a record breaker at FPL , 3.5 is fair enough 😀

    2. how come bendtner isnt listed on FPL? is it because they know nobody would pick him anyway? 😛

  4. Don't get all the Arsenal angst. Every year they get through the group stage, sometimes only just, and then get battered by the first decent team they meet. This way, they are guaranteed to test themselves against the best, and if/when they get battered they are spared the protracted process and false hope of previous seasons, and can concentrate on 4th place in the league!

    1. Arsenal should get second!

  5. Ramsey - Pros and cons

    1. Too many cons.

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
  6. Arsenal have released 27 players and bought 1 player, which should save close to 30m in wages.

We haven't spent our 70m transfer fund and should get some interest on it

We are gonna be so rich, and everyone's jealous 😉

  7. Why is everyone laughing at Arsenal. If they play well, first isn't far away and 2nd is likely. Coming from a Liverpool fan. (we're not in Europe, so I and other LFC fans
    can't laughs at others!)

You don't win the league when you play well, you win it when you play bad and still pick up the 3 points. Arsenal never had a problem when they had a good day, but they can't win ugly.

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
  8. Pros .. nailed on , nice schedule , budget friendly as an arsenal player , good form
Cons .. deep , 2 goals in 1 match might be once or twice in a life time , an assist is ur best hope i think

    1. Does it really need the New Post label twice, when Mark's posted it already. Or do you just like doing it?

  10. So Brayford played 90 in the week....reckon he'll get his chance to start at home to Everton?

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. As a Brayford holder - I hope so!

  12. So sad about foster. Now I don't know who to buy on his place.

Boruc, Vorm, Jaaskelainen? Give me an advice, please.

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. You should think about your other goalie. Is he playable? Should you take one that rotates well with him, or are you going to get one that you will play all day every day.. But from those three I'd go for Boruc. And actually I think he is the best option for his price.

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
  13. I don't understand how price rises work for players I have in my team. For example, I bought Barkley at 4.5, he's now 4.9, but in my team is priced at 4.7. If I sell him I get 4.7 and not 4.9, why?

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. Only get 50% of the profits

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
      1. Ah, thanks. So even if they rise by 0.3, you get 0.1, if they rise by 0.4, you get 0.2? I wondered where the 0.1 for Shaw went..

        • 2 years, 5 days ago
        1. That is correct.

  14. Am usually writing from exotic Lpool but this week its exotic Cancun, thank god for free WiFi, people is it to much of a gamble to captain Dzeko? My gut instinct says he due a place on the bench but if he starts could be fireworks, please advise!

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. Considering it myself. Enjoy Cancun; was there 13 years ago on my honeymoon - Loved it!

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
      1. Wow 13 years ago, I bet its changed alot since then, yes its paradise, so Icon are you going with Dzeko, my choice is him or Walcott, RVP or Lambert, hopefully not to much damage done if I go with Dzeko even if he's benched, cant see any of the others really smashing it.

  15. should I transfer out Snodgrass ASAP ? Just checked on FISO and he seems to be in for a 0.2 price drop tonight

Who should I get instead ? ..I still have 0.8m in the bank

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. A player can only drop 0.1m per day. The only thing you can tell by the vast number of players over 100% negative is that FISO haven't got the formula down yet.

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
  16. Has the Captain Poll been scrapped?

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. Temporary one either tomorrow or Saturday.

  17. Predictions

    Liv - Utd
    Ars- Spurs

Would love your reasons for the same.

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. 2-1

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
    2. Liv 1 - 1 United I reckon Liv will have the most of the ball and chances and score then a late RVP goal to annoy them

Ars 2 - 3 Spurs Always an absolute cracker with loads of goals and I think both teams would be furious if they didn't win it, not like Utd - Che last week where they were happy with a bore draw

      • 2 years, 4 days ago
  18. Does anyone think walker would be a good investment after arsenal game

    • 2 years, 5 days ago
    1. Could be but personally I'd rather Enrique, Vidic, Terry for 6.0

      • 2 years, 5 days ago
  19. Walcott silva sondgrass mirallas kim
How can this be improved.I am not getting good point from my MID

“All players will blank a few times during the season. When almost all do it in the same Gameweek, it is tough to take, but that's just the dark side of probability.”
