Captain Sensible – Gameweek 15

We roll out another instalment of our new weekly article for Members this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the Gameweek ahead. Each of the top four supply us with a player apiece this time out as we crunch the numbers to determine whether there really is an alternative to a certain Uruguayan for the armband:

i hate the Jan WC.. i always have a great team by then and dont need to use it while my rivals are in a mess and get saved by it 🙁 .. I hate it i tell ya. Last year i dint know what to do with it and brought taarabt et all in for the sake of it and was worse off!

This year i'm gonna use it to break up SAR and regret it.. get Silva, Wally, Michu etc in midfield and go cheap at the back. basically i'm gonna ruin my team 🙂

Who was the first football team to ever have sponsors on their shirts?

If by ANY chance you know where I live, then you'll get it right! We've also had some very big footballing legends manage our team for how small we are.

By the way, it's an English team!

The Bookies Picks Summary - Gameweek 14

It was tight between the Bookies Picks and the Scout Picks this week, with a point difference between the two. The Scout Picks managed to win this week with 74 points. I've decided to give up on the betting side, as both of the teams continue to lose money week after week. If there's something to learn from my Bookies Picks, it's that you don't bet on your fantasy football team, as it doesn't earn you money!

    Here's last weeks team;
    Szczesny
    Mertesacker - Skrtel - Terry - Lovren
    Ramsey - Gerrard - Hazard
    Suarez - Aguero - Giroud

The Bookies Picks Vs The Scout Picks Points: Since Gameweek 12.

    The Bookies Picks: 201
    The Scout Picks: 197

The Bookies Picks for gameweek 15 will be posted later on!

    Hey all,
    Currently sitting on this for the GW pre-trades;

    Mignolet
    Mertesacker - Burner - Coleman - McAuley
    Hazard - Oscar - Ramsey
    Lukaku - Suarez(c) - Aguero

    (Harper: Brady, Clyne, RavMO)

Thinking Merte to Vlaar due to upcoming fixtures. Oscar to Stevie if he's out.
Mignolet to Howard next week. Good plan?

Depends if you can cover Rooney's absence this week, really. Rooney probably is worth the extra outlay over the course of the season but with Lukaku's upcoming fixtures he may be a better option in the short term - although Rooney's look good too.

I would probably get Lukaku in to cover him up until the Jan WC and upgrade elsewhere. Plenty of time left to catch up but not having Lukaku for his decent fixtures might hurt your chances.

Rooney vs Lukaku up until the WC looks a close call. You already have a differential in Aguero plus whatever you can come up with using the extra 3M. It's the conservative call of the two, for sure. Depends on how risky you feel.

He's my bench fodder, I played him once against West Brom when he scored, I couldn't believe it. Also I had a bet on for both teams to score, and he scored to make it 2-1, and won me £80! 😎

Guys what kind of team do you want to get in your Jan wildcard ? And how much use-able value do you need for this ? I'll go first, I'd like -

    Mignolet 4.0

    Terry Coleman Mert 4.0 4.0

    Hazard Oscar Ozil Ramsey 4.5

    Suarez Aguero Rooney

Currently atleast 2 Mill away from turning Lallana into Ozil... Cue the bandwagons !

Will try the Speroni-Marshall rotation for the next few weeks and keep on eye on the likes of Mignolet and a returning Boruc, i think.

With Boruc, Wanyama and possible Clyne out, 3 goals conceded to Villa, is all of a sudden Southampton starting to look like a decent fixture?

Possibly, Wanyama very important to their defence and will be a big loss.

That's what I'm thinking as well, whenever I see Southampton play he's always tackling and fits the way they close down aggressively so well.

I'm considering a cheeky Everton and Arsenal double defensive block from GW18.

Which 2 do you reckon from Howard and Mertesacker or Szczesny and Jagielka? I'm siding towards the former. I will already have Coleman and Koscielny.

I would say Arsenal have too many decent attacking options for you to have 2 defensive players from them. 2 Everton doesn't look too bad, though.

Tripling up is a ballsy move - I tend not to do it as 2 is often enough. I'd hate to look at my team with 3 of my defenders all having the same tricky away fixture.

Hmm yeh I've never done a triple block before so think I may stick to 2 but Everton's fixtures do look tasty.

Derrick Williams is pretty useless. Always has been. Only good for a few highlight dunks here and there.

Best to avoid. I'm sure there are better options on the wire.
