The Dugout Discussion – Monday

Nine down, one to go as Swansea welcome Hull to the Liberty and hand us some Monday night football to sink our teeth into. Michael Laudrup’s side have offered Fantasy managers a strong source of points at both ends of the pitch in front of their own fans – three of the last four home games have produced a clean sheet and three goals or more for the Welsh outfit:

Jonjo Shelvey’s 14-point haul in the previous Gameweek saw the former Liverpool man earn himself over 161,000 new owners prior to the weekend deadline, though with Curtis Davies back on board after serving a one-match suspension, the Tigers will be hoping to turn in a resilient display.

The big news is that Michu is fit and available to lead the line for the hosts after recovering from ankle and knee problems. He replaces Alvaro Vazquez up top in one of three changes by Laudrup, as Gerhard Tremmel and Nathan Dyer come in for Michel Vorm and Alex Pozuelo. Robbie Brady drops out for the Tigers after a series of disappointing displays since returning from injury.

I'm thinking about trading Coutinho out for Sterling this week? Would give me funds for Remy -> Rooney ++. Liverpool have some tough fixtures but as long as sterling keeps his place (Moses playing bad, Gerrard out 6 weeks, Sturridge out, only competition is newly returned from injury Aspas and Ibe). Rodgers praised him after the last game and I think he could be the next hot prospect under 8 mill. He is good at making runs that Coutinho sees and has also good understanding with Suarez.

Would give me:

Coleman Terry Vlaar Chester Gabbidon

Ramsey Sterling Hazard Walcott Shelvey

Suarez Rooney Aguero

1m+ in the bank for future improvements, thinking Vlaar -> koscielny later and possibly Shelvey to someone..

        Fer scored 12 in 47 for FC Twenty, so his 3 in 14 is similar for Norwich. Not bad for 5.8m, although not on set pieces. Worth the risk me thinks for:

Potential contenders:

Suarez
Pros:In red hot form,Against a leaky spurs defence under increased pressure,No Gerrard(Will be on penalties and free kicks)
Cons:No Gerrard(lack of creativity),Liverpool have won only 2 away from home which is the same as fulham

Aguero
Pros:In red hot form,Fancies the big games
Cons:Tough fixture with Arsenal solid at the back

Rooney
Pros:In red hot form,Villa at home are poor
Cons:Might share the points with RVP back,United lacking creativity

Lukaku
Pros: Fulham away are always poor,Team creating a lot of chances

      They need to launch a proper project throughout a season, in parallel with maintaining the old site. I'm guessing their architecture and could use some renewing as well. The user interface is awful as well. So much to do.

      I don't think you should use the UEFA site as a measurement of quality. Not talking about the downtime really. I mean I love FPL, but the website itself could be improved in so many ways it's ridiculous. Whole thing needs a makeover.

    I've got Brady and Rosenoir as well and agree they're a pain. You need your bench players to be playing at Xmas.
    
    Dont think i'm going to take a hit to sort them tho, not this week at least.
    
    That's an ok team for this week as long as Brady plays some part.

gw16: vidic + boruc >> ward + howard.....ward/burner rotate..gk sorted till jan, 2 big hitters in def
gw17: can save FT
gw18: coutinho >> paulinho (3home games from 18-21) and can get 3rd eve player (mid or def)

B:
gw16: vidic >> distin and carry over other FT...myhill has car, HUL so only need a gk from gw18
gw17: will have two FTs here but not sure what to do with them
gw18: coutinho + boruc >> paulinho/miralas + howard/de gea..depending on who i want as 3rd eve
