Fantasy Football Scout Cup VIII – Fourth Round Draw

Heading into the Fourth Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup, as sponsored by Paddy Power, we’re searching for a new manager to lift the trophy after defending champion Wild Rover was beaten by Hillbillypete in last weekend’s head-to-head.

This means we’re down to the last 128 Fantasy managers, with Hillybillypete now set to face The Boot this time around. There are just two former champions left in the hat –  Goonderdave, who takes on Pryston North EndFC, and sleepingmaster, who is up against a top 10K-ranked opponent in Albany City.

Moderators Applebonkers and Spencer remain in with a shout of the silverware – they’ll face Noyb and HyperloopingCrazy respectively over Gameweek 16.

Looking at some of the site regulars still in the draw, the likes of EpicFAIL is up against Championblues. The Sarjeant looks a rank (poor pun alert) outsider in his match up with Eddy3161, who currently sits inside the top 5,000, the 3rdTurd (2,804 overall) is the favourite to see off g-doo (61,612) , while old-school poster RaspingDrive goes up against Inspector Gadget.

Three of the top 1,000 FPL managers are lying in wait in the next round. They are Tony Hibbert’s Love Child, who is up against Real Mayonnaise, giuliop11, who will square up to luke89carpenter, and Snella FC, who shall take on Andy Paps for a place in the Fifth Round next weekend.

As always, we highlight the top-scoring manager across the previous set of fixtures. Last week Bedknobs and Boonsticks and Woeisme both registered a round-high tally of 85 points – this time around, Goaldigger and Ajax stand in the way of the in-form duo’s respective progress.

If you’re one for nostalgia and are keen to see the Round 3 results, you can click here for the full lowdown. Otherwise, click here for the Fourth Round 4 details.

Once again, good luck to those still in with a shout.

Which player do you think has the funniest summary box picture on the FPL site? I know Nasri's isn't very becoming.

ain't a centaur already half horse? so a centaur's son, depending on the dam, wud be a quarter or three quarters horse. unless papa centaur mated with another centaur. in which case, he'd be a centaur. my shrink warned me against overanalyzing the parentage of mythical beasts. but screw him

Ha, ha. That's kind of what I did. At first, I said half horse. But then, the offspring of a centaur notion was a separate thought, and one that took into account that the mother was probably 100% human.

The father was a centaur. The mother a human, just to clear up any confusion. It had to be that way. Had to be.

Am tempting towards aguero as he is amazing at Etihad. It's been four weeks since I want to transfer townsend out, first Oscar got injured, than last week Morrison and rooney were suspended and now gerrard got injured, swapped gerrard with silva, bad luck.

Whom should I pick for townsend next week, apart from ozil I can pick anyone if I swap rooney with lukaku.

Trying to pick one to bench out of Morrison (Injury to Nolan may push him forward?), Redmond (Swansea leaking goals, good form, Norwich alright at home), Hazard (may be rested... although realistically cant be benched?) Ozil (too expensive to bench?) Ramsey (Unbenchable?) is pretty tough!

Anyone else got any benching dilemmas?

Weirdly I only seem to get into the cricket when Australia are doing better than England, I don't know what that says about my personality. I was obsessed with the game throughout the 90s and erly 00s, but I lost interest completely when beating Australia got routine.

It's pretty boring over here now seeing England aren't even competition. Close games ftw.

At the beginning of the season I was going to put a lot of money on them to finish in the top ten. It's was like 3/1 but I had no money at the time, and by the time they did, they went on a great streak and the odds went shit.

It's only a fun bet and they are playing great stuff lately, loved their spirit against Citeh.

People laughed at me when I took 20/1 on Arse E/W at the start of the season.

Current keepers are Myhill and Panty

Looking at budget (5.2 and under) options and there really is nothing appealing.

How does Myhill to Steklenberg sound for the coming week?

Foster back in full training so I fear Myhill won't get the benefit of the home game vs. Hull

Well Arsenal and City look nailed on to get 2 of the 4 spots. Chelsea, Pool, Tottenham, Everton and Manu fighting for 2 spots(with Chelsea favourites at the moment) so the odds on Manu ending in the top 4 would have to be priced high
