The Dugout Discussion – Liverpool vs Cardiff

Saturday offers up the uncomfortable scenario of an early kick-off captain. Luis Suarez dominated our thinking going into the Gameweek, running away with our Captain poll has thousands backed him for his home clash with Cardiff. That Anfield encounter provides the day’s opener and a potential points haul or major failure from the off.

The team news from Anfield finds few surprises from Brendan Rodgers’ lineup as he keeps the same starting XI that destroyed Spurs at the Lane. Raheem Sterling and Joe Allen retain their starting roles in midfield, while Dan Agger is amongst the substitutes as Martin Skrtel and Mamadou Sakho form the centre-back partnership once again. Malky Mackay is under the media microscope for today’s match in the light of the seemingly untenable relationship with club owner Vincent Tan. In what could be his last Cardiff team selection, Mackay chooses to recall Aron Gunnarsson in place of striker Frazier Campbell in the only change to the side that won three points against West Brom last time out.

Our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open to provide a real-time platform for your views for this match and will remain throughout the day’s action.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Liverpool playing 3 at the back and wingbacks.

Agger taken over (c) from Suarez.

    Two strange decisions IMO.

I don't understand how he can come off the bench and take the armband off a guy who has single handedly won them the game.

Can someone sneak into Coutinho's bedroom while he's asleep at night and reshape his hair to give him that bushy curly afro he had when he was good in the league for Liverpool.
