Sky Sports Focus – Gameweek 36

It’s Friday afternoon and time to tinker with our Sky teams once again, with only four Gameweeks now remaining. As usual, we take a look at the stats, which include the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries and current market trends. As always, we also look ahead to the forthcoming fixtures, offering our preferred captain setup for Gameweek 36.

Gameweek 35 Man of the Match Awards

Listed below is a match-by-match breakdown of the players who won the plaudits from the Sky Sports reporters last time out, earning five additional points for the Man-of-the-Match award.

FixtureMoTM
Crystal Palace vs Aston VillaYannick Bolasie
Fulham vs NorwichDavid Stockdale
Southampton vs CardiffDavid Marshall
Stoke vs NewcastleMarko Arnautovic
Sunderland vs EvertonGerard Deulofeu
West Brom vs TottenhamChristian Eriksen
Liverpool vs Man CityRaheem Sterling
Swansea vs ChelseaDemba Ba
Arsenal vs West HamSanti Cazorla
Everton vs Crystal PalaceYannick Bolasie
Man City vs SunderlandConnor Wickham

A number of low ownership players made an impact this week, with only Raheem Sterling (at 7.51%) having any significant impact. Christian Eriksen continued his good form with a further MoTM performance this week and the game’s top scorer last season Santi Cazorla also returned to form – with Arsenal’s favorable remaining fixtures, the Spaniard could be a tasty differential for the run in at only 3.48% ownership. A special mention to Yannick Bolasie, who managed to receive the award in both his games, even outshining fellow winger Jason Puncheon according to the Sky match reporters.

Gameweek 35 Bonus Points

Four goalkeepers managed five saves or more this week with David Marshall the top performer, as he earned a clean sheet, save bonus and the MoTM award to earn 14 points. Vito Mannone is the top bonus earner overall with 28 additional points.

In defence, 12 players gathered bonus, nine for tackles and four for passes completed – full-back Marcos Alonso was the player who managed to achieve both. Swansea’s Angel Rangel leads the way for the defenders with 28 extra bonus points.

In midfield, 21 players earned bonus points – nine for tackling and 14 for passes. Kim Kallstrom and Mile Jedinak were the two players to receive bonus twice, while Cheik Tiote and Morgan Schneiderlin are the game’s top bonus earners with 42 extra points.

A reminder that Fantasy Football Scout members can access all the data regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

The Transfer Trends

Top Transfers Out

NameTeamValue% of Managers
ToureMan City8.620.74%
HendersonLiverpool610%
HazardChelsea8.89.43%
SturridgeLiverpool9.29.24%
RooneyMan Utd9.62.34%

Some big names mentioned here as injuries and suspension serve to shake up the template somewhat. Wayne Rooney lis expected to feature this week, though, and, ahead of a mouthwatering run of fixtures, his former owners could live to regret that decision.

Top Transfers In

NameTeamValue% of Managers
SilvaMan City8.412.63%
AgueroMan City9.811.13%
GerrardLiverpool8.18.45%
NasriMan City6.34.20%
LukakuEverton8.64%

Unsurprisingly, Manchester City assets have been targeted most this week, due to their upcoming schedule and also as direct replacements for the likes of the injured pair Yaya Toure and Eden Hazard. David Silva missed the final fixture of the Gameweek with an ankle knock and is expected to be sidelined again for Monday’s visit of West Brom, according to Manuel Pellegrini. Sergio Aguero got roughly 90 mins over the two games and looks a great signing for the run-in if he can return to form.

Gameweek 36 Proposed Captain Strategy

Looking ahead to the captaincy choices for Gameweek 36 there is an opportunity for three captains if you choose to use a transfer.

Our Strategy:
Emmanuel Adebayor (Home to Fulham) → Luis Suarez (Away to Norwich) → Sergio Aguero (Home to West Brom)

For Saturday April 19 fixtures, Emmanuel Adebayor looks the pick of the bunch here as Tottenham host Fulham at White Hart Lane – alternatively Adam Lallana looks a good bet for Southampton’s trip to Villa Park.

For Sunday 20, a transfer or captain switch to Luis Suarez is surely the obvious option – his performances against Norwich have harvested incredible point hauls in recent times and we should expect this game to be no different.

For Monday night’s game, you could use a transfer or captain swap to hand the armband to Sergio Aguero, who looks the safest option and offers potentially explosive returns if he is up to full fitness.

It’s a tough week to prepare for Gameweek 37 with the way the fixtures fall – if you’re set on two or more captains in that week, it’s probably better to end this week on a Manchester United or West Brom player.

    a) Keep Coleman benched for the next 2 GWs and sell for Demichelis in GW37

    b) sell this week for -8 to save a transfer in GW37

    1) sell Noone and have Degajagh as a playing 5th mid
    2) sell Degajah and just keep Noone as he's cheap, even though he won't play

then I may as well just keep Yaya and do Coleman to Kos, but defenders appeal more than mids for DGW atm.

Picking a United defender is a minefield. But someone out there will do well.

I'm set on the moves, it's just a question of when

It's more the sitting inside when its summer outside.

See, for us Irish, we normally get about 10 days of summer a year, so sitting inside for 8 hours of summery weather in Ireland is like sitting inside for 5 days of summery weather in a hotter, normal country 😛

That's what is making it a difficult decision! I could see hazard coming on from the bench next weekend, but it's really the Norwich and Cardiff games where he could be useful. Yaya, again I don't see him starting to gw37, but if he plays the villa and west ham games he could still do well.

I think it'll go to the wire. Also, he may only need one game. Whatever we do / don't do seems risky though, tricky situation.

After the Sunderland game he said "He couldn’t play today following the game on Sunday with only 4 days to recover. We will see how he is for Monday" . After losing the game he will not just come out and say Silva is fit now. We all know he has been playing with an injury but doesn't mean he will not start. With just 5 games to go and no Yaya Toure for them I think he should start.

    Afternoon all.

Barkley to Nasri (-4) Good move or should i be considering someone else? Mata will probably be in next week.

I'd go for Eriksen for this week. As Barkley started during the week, will prob be on the bench at the weekend.

I guess Gerrard is an obvious choice, Ramsey is getting back now, or for a gamble Salah or Willian for Chelsea against Sunderland could be interesting.

RP- with silva looking incapable of handling two games in a week he is now not an option for the DGW for me.

should I hold yaya in that case?

It's hard to know what to do. Don't forget he only needed one game in the double just gone to score well. I will definitely be in the minority here, but I'm benching both him & his pal Toure and hoping for the best.

      Chelsea City United Injury Round-Up

      CHELSEA:
      1) Holland: 'Hazard won't be fit to play tomorrow but the rest of the squad all trained today. We're not in bad shape.' #CFC
      2) Holland: 'Hazard is not definitely out for Tuesday but he hasn't trained with the squad yet which means he's a major doubt.' #CFC

      CITY:
      1) "We continue with the same situation with Yaya, Silva and Navas. The three of them are injured for the moment."
      2) "Yaya is improving but it is a massive injury so it is difficult for him to be back so soon"

      UNITED:

      1) David Moyes also expects Wayne Rooney to be fit. "He's trained great this week and has been in really good form." pic.twitter.com/SHo1Tsa6AV

      2) Moyes confirms Van Persie is still in Holland, undertaking rehabilitation for his knee injury.

      3) Rafael has been ruled out of the match against Everton, but Fellaini should be available. Jonny Evans is "making progress".

    a) Demichelis for 3rd City spot

    b) Kos and leave a spot open to do Ramsey to Yaya/Silva in GW37

b, but selling Ramsey in 37 might look risky if he regains his previous form.

I'm a non-Silva owner, I haven't owned him all season and I was thinking of getting him in this week. However, after hearing that he is a doubt for Monday's game, I'm starting to rethink putting him in my team.

So, the question is, should I get Silva or Nasri?

By the way, I won't be getting Gerrard, Lallana, Eriksen, Ramsey etc because they don't have a DGW. If it were earlier in the season, I would've gone Gerrard over Nasri/Silva any day of the week. But, the season's coming to an end now, so I'm looking for a midfielder who has a DGW and scores points, and Mata doesn't interest me because I'll be getting Evra and Rooney, and I don't wanna triple up on United players.

So it's out of Nasri and Silva, who would you pick?

Nasri since he will play in GW35 and has more chance or both games in GW37
