Site Features

In Development – The Community Submissions Section

Next week we’re looking to launch a new feature on Fantasy Football Scout, aimed at further increasing community interaction and adding a new dimension to the site’s content.

The new Submissions section will allow any registered user to post us an article for review, which can then be published in the Submissions section, or even promoted to the homepage listing.

In many ways, this is an extension of the Hot Topics feature in our HomeCrowd comments system. Since we introduced HomeCrowd, we’ve seen many posters supply some quality content, which has been of great interest to our readers. While we’ve been able to highlight these posts via the Hot Topics, we felt we needed another level to recognise some of the great content that can be produced by the community.

How the Submissions section develops is very much up to you to decide, as it will be your content that shapes it. You can send us articles on any subject surrounding Fantasy Football – player scout reports, tactical analysis, statistical breakdowns (members or non-members related), features on a particular topic or dilemma and, of course, information on any community tournaments you’re running, provided they’re free to enter. Our recent Drop the Flop article – as devised and written by Swanny14 – is an example of our willingness to take on, develop and promote new editorial ideas, so if you have any suggestions for future content, feel free to get involved.

Transfer news is another great source of content and we are particularly interested in hearing from fans of a Premier League club to provide expert analysis and match reports. Ultimately, our hopes are to have a community expert on board for each team in the top-flight in any given season – this could be your chance to be the community’s eyes and ears on the latest goings-on at your club.

There will also be a sideboard widget listing articles published and we will flag up the published submissions in our weekly community round-up as well as in our social media channels. As mentioned, we may even promote some articles to our homepage listing.

In the past we’ve always looked to recruit new writers from the community and both Paul and Jonty – staff members at Fantasy Football Scout – arrived via that route. We’d like to think that there are more new writers out there who will spring from the submissions section and evolve into contributors to help take the site forward in the coming years.

With the close season and the World Cup looming, this is a great opportunity to try out this new section and evolve and improve it as we go. If any of you fancy yourself as experts on a particular World Cup nation, have a list of players to watch or simply want to review your Fantasy season or focus on targets for the next, then keep your powder dry and look out for the launch of the Submissions section next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

This is exactly what the site needs to channel all the great content into one place and separate it from the background noise. Great idea

          This.

Seriously though, There would be nothing stopping the kind of discussion that we love the site for, just that the extra good stuff will get highlighted, published and archived. The hot topics and sticky comments won't disappear overnight.

yeah, wasn't being totally serious. a lot of interesting discussions start from one-liners.

be good to see the in-depth stuff without it getting lost.

I'm excited about it. It will encourage people to contribute towards actual articles on a part time basis in case they can't commit to being a regular contributor. I'm looking forward to this.

Ivan (NOR) nailed on this week? Has played 90mins in like ALL games recently. I bet the guy can destroy a bleep test!

If so, easy cleanies for the run in? + a bap or 2, or who knows, maybe a goal/assist xD

Aye I agree of course but I think Hernandez is better at 9 than Welbz. So I'd nearly predict Hernandez to start if RVP isn't fit enough. Mata playing the 10 role.

Would he rather win FPL, or Liverpool win the league?

Anyone who thinks Mourinho is not in danger of losing his job really doesn't know Roman Abromovich very well.

Roman wants 2 things: he wants Chelsea to win trophies and he wants them to play good attractive football. This season he is getting neither. And at the end of the day he isn't one to bow to fan pressure, he proved that when appointing Rafa.

I don't believe he will see out next season as Chelsea manager.

        This sums up his approach:

In his controversial biography, Diego Torres explained the code Mourinho came up with at Real Madrid for handling games against high-class teams, particularly away from home:
"1) The game is won by the team who commits fewer errors. 2) Football favours whoever provokes more errors in the opposition. 3) Away from home, instead of trying to be superior to the opposition, it's better to encourage their mistakes. 4) Whoever has the ball is more likely to make a mistake. 5) Whoever renounces possession reduces the possibility of making a mistake. 6) Whoever has the ball has fear. 7) Whoever does not have it is thereby stronger."

    Assuming Rooney ok:

    a) Lukaku and Baines > Aguero and Bardsley
    b) Suarez > Aguero

    Rooney out -
Rooney and Lukaku > Aguero and Wickham
(I will need to downgrade someone as 0.1 off Rooney > Aguero)

I feel Lukaku could do well this weekend - at home and a big match player

20 years from Sennas death. One of the greatest sportsman of the modern era. My Dad raced against Senna in Formula Ford and said he always had an element of mystique and greatness around him. Whilst Formula 1 might have lost much of the excitement that it used to have at least we can be thankful about the huge safety improvements.

I think he stubbed his toe, then slipped on a puddle of water, doing in his groin, only to then fall face first and mouth open into an open sewer...hence the stomach bug. I mean, what else could have happened? That has to be the explanation.
