Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 5

Our Monday afternoon regular is rolled out once again, as we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess the players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Aston Villa
The Midlands outfit were hit hard by a virus prior to the weekend home defeat to Arsenal. Paul Lambert confirmed Darren Bent and Nathan Baker missed out altogether, whilst Ashley Westwood also failed to feature – he was initially named in the starting XI but was forced to drop out. Andi Weimann was also subbed off at the break after struggling to overcome the same problem.

Burnley
Clarets midfielder David Jones was subbed off after 86 minutes of the weekend goalless draw against Sunderland with “a minor thigh injury”.

Chelsea
Ramires was withdrawn on 63 minutes having suffered a knee injury. Early reports suggest that the Brazilian could face a term of absence with the midfielder undergoing scans early this week.

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Philippe Coutinho missed the trip to West Ham due to a groin problem, while Jordan Henderson is being assessed after picking up a hip complaint.

Man United
Jonny Evans was withdrawn after just 30 minutes of United’s loss at Leicester with a leg problem and, post-match, Louis van Gaal admitted:

“I don’t know how bad Evans is. We have to wait for a scan tomorrow but he is on crutches.”

Newcastle
Cheick Tiote will be assessed after limping off towards the end of Saturday’s home draw with Hull.

QPR
The problems are building up in midfield for Harry Redknapp. Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch were passed fit for Saturday’s home clash with Stoke after heading into the match as doubts due to hamstring problems – both players were subsequently subbed off with a recurrence of the injuries, whilst Sandro missed out altogether due to a knee complaint.

Southampton
Both Maya Yoshida and James Ward-Prowse were forced off with ankle problems in the weekend win at Swansea. New boy Toby Alderweireld missed Liberty clash with a minor hamstring problem but is expected to be back next weekend.

Sunderland
Steven Fletcher and Ricardo Alvarez missed the Black Cats’ trip to Burnley due to a calf complaint and knock respectively, though the latter has since been passed fit for tomorrow’s Capital One clash with Stoke. Gus Poyet has also revealed that Emmanuel Giaccherini was forced off on his first start of the season and will be assessed:

“Giaccherini had plenty of energy, going between the lines and I think he was one of our best players. That was the idea of playing him; to create that little bit more. He was thereabouts, so it’s not bad from him. Unfortunately, he took a big knock which we need to check today.”

Swansea
Dwight Tiendalli missed the weekend home defeat to Southampton with a slight groin problem.

West Brom
Giorgos Samaras missed out through injury as the Baggies picked up a 1-0 win at Spurs yesterday.

West Ham
Midfielder Cheick Kouyate is set to undergo scans after picking up a groin problem against Liverpool on Saturday evening – the summer signing stayed on the field after Sam Allardyce had made all three substitutions.

Which pair would you bring in for Naismith and Ramsey:

    Welbeck and Herrera

    or

    Lukaku and Delph?

    Cheers.

the template di maria fab sterling..who out will be the question

the 3 of them look to continue their good form and its tough to forcefully take out 1 of them..unless u found enough cash to upgrade siggy..another option is to play 352 but there are good 3rd strikers like pelle/ulloa/welbeck

i have fab-ramsey-sterling-siggy-tadic atm, and after southampton's good fixtures i will look to upgrade tadic>walcott and potentially also siggy. Currently have 3.4m itb but 1/3rd of that will go towards getting Baines in.

Can't back it up with in-dept stats but he does seem to have made a habit of showing up late in the box ---and usually has pretty good chances I think.

Don't look to him to create ADM-like chances but should United continue to attack as they have these last 2 games, I think he'll have fairly consistent results.

All that said, ADM seems to be more than justifying his price so I'd just do him and save myself agonizing over not owning him.

    This is the plan:

    GW 06:

    Begovic
    Chambers, Clyne, Ivanovic
    Mirallas, Ramsey, Sterling, Hazard
    Costa(c), Welbeck, Pellè(vc)

    Green; Davis, N Taylor, Dummett ... 0FT 1.2 ITB

It's not the Scout picks, it's suppose to be for the next 4-6 weeks.

Ramsey has been playing average and is still outscoring Tadic. Not even on the same level for FPL IMO.

Tadic is nowhere near top 5 midfield picks for me.

And? A player needs 10 to get suspended as far as I'm aware. Very annoying that he keeps picking them up though

What do people think about Aguero? I was thinking of transferring Rooney out but worried about rotation….. What do you guys think?
Also I think that Chambers is a bargain, as Debuchy out for three months!

I know what you're trying to say, but RVP had Burnley, Leicester and QPR to Aguero's Chelsea, Arsenal and Stoke, and he's also 0.5 more so it's not as if value makes it impressive.

could walcott coming back affect welbecks gametime? having walcott sanchez ozil and ramsey is very attacking.
