Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Sunday

After United and Everton got Sunday’s events underway earlier, we now have three more matches to focus on before another international break is thrust upon us. First up, the league’s last two unbeaten teams go head-to-head at the Bridge, as Chelsea take on Arsenal in one of a couple of 2.05pm kick-offs.

All eyes will be on Cesc Fabregas as he plays host to his former club but from a Fantasy perspective, we’ll be looking for Diego Costa to continue a record that has seen him score in every home appearance so far. Danny Welbeck will also be on many a radar as the Gunners prepare for an outstanding run of fixtures from Gameweek 8 onwards.

Elsewhere, Mauricio Pochettino faces a tough task to derail the Southampton bandwagon as his former club roll up to the Lane. Spurs have failed to score in each of their last two home matches and face the top-flight’s meanest backline – the likes of Ryan Bertrand, Dusan Tadic and Graziano Pelle all carry strong form into this one and have the upcoming fixtures to flourish further.

Later in the day, The Hammers welcome QPR to Upton Park in the final match of the Gameweek. Big Sam’s side have impressed in the final third in recent weeks, with Stewart Downing’s new central role and Diafra Sakho’s clinical finishing making them the standout options for the hosts right now.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

lesson learned..trust your own instincts over FFS and FPL..I dropped Ivanovic instead of Moreno to fund RVP/Aguero (hadn't decided at the time)..the strikers aside, that's a nice little 7 points swing

I know it sounds stupid right now, but is anyone else looking at getting rid of Di Maria after next week?

His fixtures read Chelsea, City, Crystal Palace, Arsenal. Not sure even good form can carry him through that and still justify his price.

Ultimately I still think he's getting lucky to an extent. The downside would be losing the value on him, though.

He's world class. CL MotM, arguably the most important player for the Argentinian team at the WC given how they played in his absence..I think he's been getting quite lucky, but the team is also still learning to gel so it can only go up..he's a big game player

CHE and man city are tricky. It's tough as his price will go up tonight. Plus he's more than capable of scoring/assisting against WBA up next. Trouble is not owning him means a drop in the rankings if he gets today's sort of haul.

Kompany makes far too many mistakes and from what I've seen doesn't do well with quick, tricky players like Hazard/Coutinho etc. He is undoubtedly one of the best in the league though

To be fair, Costa got a goal Azpi got a clean sheet, neither did much else other than that.

Is it worth taking a -4 to get Baines in over the break? Or can he wait a week?

No rush I'd have thought. The missed pen will slow the number of transfers in.
