Scout Picks Community Champion Vote – Gameweek 10

As you may have noticed we’ve revamped our Scout Picks. Mark, myself, Paul and a community champion picked by you each week are up against each other.

We are now looking for Gameweek 10’s Scout Picks Community Champion to represent you and get one over on The Scouts as well as be in with a chance of winning a special prize. The champion who manages the best Gameweek score (or best score from the first ten matches in a double Gameweek) will win a £100 Amazon voucher. HVT is currently leading the race to win that prize with a score of 56.

To put yourself forward simply add in your Gameweek 10 Scout Picks here. For everyone else please upvote the poster you would like to represent you based on their picks. Please try to keep all discussion about the vote to this article and avoid spam canvassing, as it could prove counterproductive to your chances.

We only need 11 picks and please be mindful of budget. We are sticking to a budget of 83.5m. There’s no captain in the picks either and please stick to a designated FPL formation, including no more than three players from one team.

I’ll leave this vote for 24 hours and come back at 10am tomorrow (Tuesday) to find out who is the community’s choice. Any attempts to disrupt the voting process may lead to the team involved being removed at our discretion.

Once selected I’ll need you to email me at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk with your final scout picks and 200 word explanation (I’m happy to take bullet points) by Thursday 5pm at the latest. There is time to alter based on injuries on Friday daytime – just keep me updated by email. If your champion fails to submit their final team by this time then an assistant from our team of moderators and contributors will step in.

Meanwhile, Gameweek 9’s champion Saniul is currently putting up a good fight. He has defeated Paul this week and still has a player to go.

Gameweek 10 scores so far are Mark – 61, Jonty – 57 with Brad Guzan to play, Saniul – 44 with Ron Vlaar to play, Paul  -39.

May as well enter the popularity contest. Unfortunately, whilst my team may be good I can't write a poem to save my life!

      Forster (5.2)
      Coleman (6.9) - Chambers (4.6) - Cameron (4.2)
      Sanchez (10.4) - Hazard (9.9) - Di Maria (10.2) - Mane (6.9)
      Berahino (5.9) - Drogba (6.2) - Aguero (12.6)

      My GW 10 team

      Courtious (6.0)
      Baines (7.0), Chambers (4.6) Wisdom (4.1)
      ADM (9.8), Fab (9.4), Tadic (7.6) Sanchez (10.4)
      Pelle (8.0) Costa (10.7) Berahino (5.7)

The back seems obvious with QPR probably not getting past the Bus, Baines's form seems undeniable and Chambers and Wisdom could provide cheap clean sheets. The midfield template looks to be in good form and should deliver, with Sanchez looking sharp, Fabregas essential, ADM in great nick and Tadic on kick duties.
Up front, Costa should be well rested, Berahino is the man at West Brom and No one should look past Pelle.

      This is a winning team

    Foster (4.5)

    Coleman (6.9) Felipe Luis (5.4) Chambers (4.6)

    Alexis (10.4) Hazard (9.9) Mane (6.9) Downing (5.7)

    Welbeck (7.4) Lukaku (9.1) Aguero (12.6)

    83.4

I have backed Arsenal, Cheslea and Everton to return at both ends in their plum home fixtures against Burnley, QPR and Swansea respectively.

I have chosen Sergio Aguero who, in his current form, should be able to score against a less-than-solid Man U backline in a traditionally high scoring derby.

Stewart Downing has become more threatening in a central position this season with an average of 2.9 chances created per match. Sadio Mane seems to be building up to the goal scoring potential we saw at Red Bull Salzburg, with impressive penalty area statistics.

Ben Foster I think is the best GK at that price range, with Leicester failing to find the net in the last two gameweeks.

Time for some no-nonsense stuff from the community. We've been caught out here trying to be too cheeky, too punty. This week we need some solid picks who can bring home the points.

    Forster (hul)[5.2]
    Baines (SWA)[7.1] | Filipe Luis (5.4)[QPR] | Chambers (BUR)[4.6]
    Sanchez (BUR)[10.4] | Hazard (QPR)[9.9] | Sterling (new)[8.9] | Barkley (SWA)[6.7]
    Costa (QPR)[10.9] / Rooney (mci)[10.2] | Welbeck (BUR)[7.4] | Berahino (lei)[5.9]

    TV: 82.4 m

In a not far from likely scenario that Costa doesn't make it, I suppose Rooney, with his record in the derbies and City's defensive frailings, warrants a look in. Enough stash in the bank to do a Barkley -> Tadic/Mane in case we aren't convinced he'll start at the weekend.
I'll also try and have a quick poll, if possible, somewhere down the week; so the Community can have their say on the non-obvious picks.

About time we pass the Community torch onto safe hands(previous top 5k finish, currently in top 10k 😉 ) and stop getting burnt by its flame 😉

    Mannone
    Chambers Terry S.Taylor
    Sanchez Hazard Eriksen Downing
    Aguero Welbeck Costa

I'm going for big hitters with a few small punts.
S.Taylor always has goal threat and Liverpool are poor at set pieces. Downing is in a rampant West Ham team and Mannone can't get any worse, playing away to CPL.

Big hitters - Front 3, with Hazard Sanchez. Eriksen plays better away from home

Enough is enough and it is time for Just a Hat to defeat all the scouts and listen to all other members of the site to cheer his name!

Speroni - A lot of options this week for clean sheets and I've gone with Speroni. Crystal Palace will be confident in keeping a clean sheet this week with Sunderland and there pathetic strike force turning up.

Chambers - He offers a cheap way into the Arsenal backline who welcome Burnley to the Emirates. With a clean sheet last week at Sunderland, Arsenal will be hopeful of a second clean sheet in a row.

Ivanovic - Will serve his suspension in the midweek Carling Cup game and looks guareenteed for a clean sheet against QPR. Chelsea will be attacking constantly as well so he could get attacking points as well.

Baines - Everyones favourite defender. You'd back him at HOME against any team.

Fabregas - Home against QPR, on fantastic form this season already. I've chosen him over Hazard for this week.

Moses - West Ham will arrive at Stoke, confident that they can get a result. Moses has been involved in a lot of Stokes goals so Mark Hughes will look to him to provide a spark in attack.

Sanchez - Fantastic form at the moment and I assume a lot of people will be bringing him in this week for the home clash against Burnley. Could grab a couple of goals in this fixutre

Diame - Has made a good start to his Hull career. Southampton are strong in defense but Hull will attack at HOME and Diame looks the best chance for a goal this weekend.

Costa - Home against QPR, should be back fit, no need to go into any more detail

Wellbeck - Wellbeck owners will be hoping that Wellbeck finally decides to score some goals this week. Burnely at home is the best fixture to start banging them in!

Lukaku - Lukaku and Everton are both starting to find form in the league and would look to continue it at HOME to Swansea

Ok here's my effort. Have Costa in for now, but would remove if the news is looking bad, possibly for Rooney or for Aguero.

    Foster
    Baines Felipe Luis Chambers
    Sanchez Hazard Mane Sterling
    Costa Welbeck Pelle

I'm afraid I made that school boy error and used my fpl to add the prices up (of course Pelle & Sterling are now more expensive for example)

I have to take out Mane for Downing. If you voted for this and now want to revoke please post here so it is manually removed.

Had a bunch of votes last week but didn't quite get voted so thought I'd try my luck again this week.

    Team for GW 10:

    Forster (hul)
Baines (SWA), Chambers (BUR), Felipe Luis (QPR)
Sanchez (BUR), Hazard (QPR), Fabregas (QPR), Mane (hul)
Aguero (MCY), Berahino (lei), Eto'o (SWA)

Relies heavily on Arsenal/Chelsea and their easy fixtures, both in defence and attack. Baines needs to be there as does SOT defensive coverage with the best defence in the league.

Similarly, the midfield has the top Chelsea + Arsenal players, perhaps may need to add Costa closer to the date but for now with the info we have those are the 2 best options. Finally, we have Mane who is looking very dangerous, both stats-wise and performance-wise in a great Southampton side.

Aguero always scores in the derby, Berahino is an in form striker (playing against a poor Leicester defence) and Eto'o seems to be finding his feet and has a favourable fixture against a statistically weak defensive team in Swansea.

    #3 Here we go:
    Forster(5.1)

    Sanchez(10.4) Fabregas(9.7) Oscar(8.3) Mane(6.9)
    Aguero(12.6) Rooney(10.3)
Cost= £81.9m with £1.6m for upgrade if required.

Forster - Jelavicless Hull don't seem a huge attacking threat even with Abel & Barfa
Baines - Recent returns speak for themselves
Chambers - Cheap route to Arsenal def v. Burnley
Ivanovic - Looking v. good for attacking returns w/ good fixture! Unlucky v. utd
    Alexis - In great form
Mane - Looked very threatening, goal in last game
Hazard - Surely this is his week v. QPR
Brunt - Assisting almost every game, looks promising
Berahino - In top form against. Looks good for further returns
    Aguero - It's Aguero
    Pelle - Looking unstoppable

Most of the team picks itself, but the reasons for the inclusions of Barkley, Rose and Diame are:

Barkley - Should be fully fit against Swansea, expecting him to get the full 90. Everton are inform. He's vital for them.
Rose - Villa haven't scored in their last 4 games, conceding at least 2 goals in those last 4. Rose showed how attacking he was against Newcastle.
Diame - At home, expect him to carry on his great form. Expecting Saints to concede a couple. Was only the 2nd time Hull had failed to score against Liverpool this season.

    Courtois (6.0)
    Baines (7.1) / Bertrand (5.4) / Chambers (4.6) - 23.1
    Hazard (9.9) / Sanchez (10.4) / Brunt (5.4) / Chadli (6.4) - 32.1
    Aguero (12.6) / Pelle (8.3) / Welbeck (7.4)

    Exactly 83.5.

Three top strikers, mostly playing against leaky defences. Attacking goal-scoring midfielders and defenders who both attack and play against not-so good going forward sides.

    DEF:-
Speroni – Palace have had 2 CS until now both at home against Burnley and Leicester. They will be hosting A struggling and short of confidence Sundeland side on Monday night and I fancy them to rack up their 3rd CS for the campaign.

Ivanovic – Since Ivanovic will be suspended for the midweek COC game, he will available for the QPR game next weekend and with Azpi suspended is nailed on to start. He looked threatening yesterday against a well-organized Utd attack yesterday as well and almost scored. Easily the best RB in the league atm, he offers great opportunity of scoring points at both ends of the pitch hosting a not so free scoring QPR side.

Baines – Baines picks himself really at home to Everton in such good form. He offers points at both ends of the pitch as we know and is a BP magnet. With set-pieces also in his locker I fancy him to continue his great attacking form this coming week.

Chambers – He is my budget pick in the defence with Arsenal hosting a Burnley side shy in front of goal. If not for the Lukaku backpass yesterday, Burnley may have failed to score yet again. With a confidence boosting CS against Sunderland last time out I see Arsenal getting another shut out at home to Burnley.

    MIDS:-
Sanchez – I think he picks himself this week. In good from and notched back to back past 2 GW’s and involved in everything that is good for Arsenal atm. On set-pieces as well.

Hazard – The past few weeks we’ve seen what Hazard is capable of. Fantasy wise he has been frustrating this season but he’s starting to pick up from and looking really threatening. I sense an imminent explosion With no news on Costa and presuming he won’t start, Hazard looks to be the main man for Chelsea.

Oscar – I’m opting for a double up on Chelsea mids as I can’t see a better option than Oscar. He has the stats from the past few weeks to back him up and I can see a route at the bridge and see Oscar being involved.

Diame – Everyone may not fancy him but 4 goals in the last 6 games for a CM is no mean feat. He seems to be at the heart of everything good that Hull are doing this season. He bombs forward a lot with Livermore and Huddlestone sitting back and dictating play. With Jelavic ruled out for some time and Hull playing only 1 striker up top, the onus will be on Diame to continue his goal scoring form. They seem to have quite a few goals in them and Anfield was the 1st time Hull blanked this season. Even though they host the in from Soton who can’t seem to put a foot wrong atm I reckon Diame will trouble them.

    FWDS:-
Welbeck – He’s played well thus far this season and settled in well but hasn’t ahd as many goals in the PL to show for his efforts. He gets the perfect chance at home to Burnley with Arsenal picking up some form and Sanchez looking deadly. With a rejuvenated Wislhere, Ramsey and possibly even Theo returning he will get plenty of good service and seems a great bet to plunder in the goals for Arsenal.

Aguero – Aguero has been in scintillating form and I can’t see him blanking 2 times in a row. He was slightly unlucky against Wham and hit the crossbar. Utd still have problems in defence and even though they held their own against Chelsea I can see Aguero notching at least once against his city rivals.

Campbell – I pick Campbell as my budget forward pick against a depleted Sunderland side. Palace have shown us that they have goals in them and with Campbell being the Palace’s choice of striker and having notched up 3 goals already I fancy him to score come Monday night. Campbell has had 62% shots on target and 77% of them have come from inside the box with a total of 8 shots on target thus far this season. Not too bad and I fancy him to score.

    TOTAL – 83 MN

Thanks if you got through the entire thing. I’ve been in good form past few weeks and fancy myself to continue this coming week. My picks for GW9 picked up 60 points which I believe is pretty good. Do vote if you like my picks. Cheers! 🙂

So I have got a triple Chelsea and triple Arsenal vs 2 of the worst teams in the League
Aguero who always scores vs Man Utd
        An in form Berahino
Moses always comes out with an attacking return from a fixture at Brittania
Coleman is some sort of a differential pick and He has the merits to match if not outscore Baines
        Forster a steady GK pick

First time doing this, so maybe I will have 'beginners luck' 😉
Some solid picks combined with couple punts and some good value picks.

      Forster (5.2)
      Baines (7.1) - Filipe Luis (5.4) - Chambers (4.6)
      Sanchez (10.4) - Hazard (9.9) - Oscar (8.3) - Mane (6.9)
      Aguero (12.6) - Welbeck (7.4) - Campbell (5.2)
      Team Value: 83

Forster: Southampton has the best defence in the premierleague with only 5 goals conceded in 9 games.

Baines: Set pieces, penalties aswell as great form.

Filipe Luis: QPR have only scored 6 goals in 8 games (before MNF against Villa), Chelsea conceded only 9 goals in 9 games.

Chambers: Burnley are relegation candidates and having only scored 5 goals in 9 games, Arsenal have good opportunity to get a cleansheet here even with all their injuries. Chambers could also play centre-back alonside Mertesacker which would suit him better and maybe increase his bonus point potential.

Sanchez: Inform, and 1 week rest with no Capital One Cup game for Arsenal Alexis looks to continue his fine start for Gunners.

Hazard: Shaky QPR defence offers great opportunity for Hazard to get some points. On penalties and flawless record on those for Chelsea (16 out of 16).

Oscar: Gaining some form with 2 goals and 1 assist in his last 4 Premier League games and with Chelsea scoring more goals this season, he could be great option when Chelsea host QPR at the Bridge.

Mane: Goal in each of his last two games in the Premier League. After playing 90 minutes against Stoke, he is very likely to start against Hull next weekend.

Aguero: In good form. Manchester City has great record in recent meetings against United and Aguero will be centre of good things for them.

Welbeck: Decent start for his Arsenal career, and most of his goals have come at Emirates (including hat-trick against Galatasaray). We can expect Arsenal to win Burnley and Welbeck to be amongs the points.

Campbell: Sunderland in terrible form, 10 goals conceded in last 2 Premier League games. 2 draws, 2 losses and 3 own goals in 4 away games this season. With Neil Warnock in charge we have seen Palace being good attacking wise, and I expect Campbell to be among the goals to add to his 3 goals this season in this Monday Night Football clash.

      I appreciate every vote 🙂

Ok, I haven't given this a shot since the early weeks so here goes...

I've entered a team with 1/2 big hitters and 1/2 punts...

      Courtois
      Baines - Cresswell- Fonte -
Yaya- Barkley - Mason - Mane - Amalfitano
      Campbell - Aguero - Lambert

Don't want to write an essay but here is a short explanation:
Courtois - Obvious pick, Chelski should keep clean sheet against QPR and don't see any of their forwards being good enough to beat the Belgian.

Defence - Baines is again an obvious pick, even if Everton concede he is an assist machine. Fonte is part of the emphatic Soton defence but I think he has more goal threat than the wing backs and is overlooked by many. Cresswell has been impressive lately and his delivery is much improved, both Hammers forwards are fantastic in the air and great targets to have.

Midfield - Although Yaya is a heavy hitter he hasn't reached last season's heights. There have been glimpses and I think in a big match scenario, like the derby, he will shine. Barkley is so influential and should start this week. Mason has been impressive and is a little punt. Mane is gathering form, as is Amalfitano who is another punt.

Forwards - Aguero is Aguero, enough said. Palace should destroy a poor Sunderland and that means goals for Campbell. Balotelli is absolutely shocking so Lambert should start and he CAN score when given the chance.

Give it an upvote if u like! Cheers!

      Guzan 4.6

      Felipe Luis 5.4 Chambers 4.6 Alcaraz 4.3

      Fabregas 9.7 Silva 9.1 Sanchez 10.4 Ameobi 4.4

      Aguero 12.6 Welbeck 7.4 Costa 10.9

      Total 83.4

      Reasons.

Spurs aren't playing well, I fancy Guzan to keep them out.

Defence - Arsenal and Chelsea look good for clean sheets against the bottom two and Alcaraz gets in an inform Everton team ahead of Distin.

Fabregas and Sanchez pick themselves while Silva is coming into some form. Ameobi is a budget pick but could cause a shaky Liverpool defence some problems, fancy him to start after the spurs game.

Aguero always scores against Man U. Costa and Welbeck look good for plenty of points at home to the bottom two.

Going to try get together some words about my choices!

Foster - Leicester has been pretty quiet after they made United look like a team from Tippeligaen, and I dont fancy them to score any goals, got burnt by getting in Ulloa but hes out for good now.

Baines - Dont need any explanation, BPS king and likewise with the assists. + on penalties. No brainer.

Terry - Think its his turn to bang in some goals soon, dont know about his BPS this season, but last season he was the king.

Chambers - Fancy Arsenal to keep a CS this week, and surely he is amongst the bonus, and he is a very cheap route into Arsenals defence.

Sanchez- Starting to get some serious form atm, just hope he justifies his heavy price tag and keep it up. If Arsenal scores a few goals, Im sure he is involved.

Oscar - Fabregas would be my pick but needed to save some cash, and I fancy Oscar to get something against a weak QPR. His time to shine.

Di Maria - Expensive, but Uniteds main man, on corners and freekicks, and I just feel he will score against City!

Mane - I chose Tadic first, but team got to expensive. Mane have scored now in the last 2? And I think he will keep on the good work. Hull managed a CS agains Liverpool, but Liverpool is on their way down down down. Sothampton looks stronger and stronger every match!

Berahino - Hes a machine, can score against anyone, quite similar as Sakho, but hes injured now.
On penalties, scored a late one this GW, but he was unlucky not to get more points(as i understood from reading the post match shit) forgot the word, English is my 2nd language.

Costa - Obvious captain this week if fit, scores goals for fun. No more explanation needed.

Pelle - Really like Pelle, and he was very unlucky not to score a few this GW. Southampton looks strong, as mentioned earlier, and he is the main goal scorer.

Yeah, thats it. Vote if you like the team, and you dont think I wrote too much bullshit 🙂

Good team. Looks like you'll clinch it this week. My only suggestion would be Hazard instead of ADM and Costa out for another striker, and you may be forced into this come Friday cause I highly doubt Costa will start the game.

Yeah, will wait and see on Costas fitness. Feel ADM will do the business against City.
