Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Monday

The final match of Gameweek 9 sees QPR attempt to haul themselves off the foot of the Premier League table as Aston Villa roll up to Loftus Road this evening. Both sides are in dire form right now, though – the hosts have picked up a single point from their last five fixtures, whilst Paul Lambert’s side have lost each of their last four without scoring a single goal in the process.

From a Fantasy perspective, only Steven Caulker has caught our attentions for the hosts – the centre-half is one of only three R’s players with an ownership above 3% in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game and sits in 7% of sides. Despite the R’s having conceded 17 goals in the last seven, Caulker’s owners will be cautiously optimistic over a clean sheet, though – the visitors have now failed to score in each of their last four league matches.

Up top, the R’s will be buoyed by their late rally at home to Liverpool last time around, though, where Eduardo Vargas emerged from the bench to notch twice in a 3-2 loss.

Paul Lambert will be pinning his hopes on Christian Benteke to make a difference for the visitors. The big Belgian returned to the starting XI last time around and whilst there’s still some doubts over his match sharpness after months on the sidelines, he’s proven time and again he’s more than capable of dishing out punishment to obliging top-flight backlines.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Posted the link, seems to suggest that he will need an op at some point, maybe some 2+2 but suggesting that with easy fixtures and international fixtures give an adequate opportunity. Guessing they want him for Xmas at 100%

I need some advice for this:

    Begovic
    Clyne Baines Bertrand
    Fábregas Sterling Sigurdsson Chadli
    Diego Costa Pellè Agüero

    Subs: Green Hutton Taylor Marney

0.1 in the bank,1FT and wildcard in tact.

I'm thinking about wildcarding GW13 when Southamptons fixtures go bad (since i have clyne bertrand and pele).

I want to keep Costa and Aguero but need to find a way to get either Di Maria or Sanchez in there

    Arghhh!
If Costa needs an operation, the way to get Aguero in for him will be painful.

Moreno / Sterling / Costa ➡ Chambers / Eriksen / Aguero for -8 pts looks best overall.

Though I'm ranked 2k-ish and really wanted to avoid hits, which has been profitful so far..

Think you hit the nail on the head here, people might hold him now but there is going to be a decision to make at some point sooner or later. I can imagine the uncertainty being a factor into a lot of sales.

There was quite a lot of discussion before the injury about whether Costa was essential due to his avoidance of getting BPS, maybe this has just convinced some people to sell.

          • 10 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

In all truth I made my decision on the basis that he would start at United and Liverpool, I wanted to allocate the funds elsewhere .

But agreed the continuation of the problems is a relief for Costa sellers, at least now I will be able to buy back for less than I sold so can minimise any possible damage
