Meanwhile, Kieran Trippier’s cross count without an assist for Granville hits 66 and counting. Who’s dithering now, eh Granville?

          He is important to them but Martinez often plays his strongest team in the Europa league, and since Barkley has just come back from a long injury I wouldn't expect him to start two matches in 3 days often.

      Rotation risk. I think Martinez wants to win Europa to get into Champions League because he knows top 4 is highly improbable this season. So he might use Barkley more in Europa? Just a thought.

      He'll probably start tomorrow but it's not certain. He had a decent game against Villa - he was less wasteful and he made a couple of shots. There is always a lack of end product with him though. There are definitely better options around. Wait to see if he hits form before getting in.

        I was considering Mannone out and also doing Siggy -> Mané this week but with Silva and Falcao injuries I've had more pressing issues... However with only 2 more decent fixtures I think I'm too late Southampton wise, and if Mannone does get dropped I'll switch him for Krul next week.

      You make a good point but still unlikely given he was rested in the week completely. Historically, Jose has never followed this theory either. Pretty rare he 'rests' players for Prem games.
