Clyne goal Bertrand assist? Seriously? Ugh, that's pretty much the worst possible ending to a very poor gameweek.

Bertrand goes forward more but when Clyne attacks he makes it count

Ah just back from a long-ass meeting and hopefully didn't miss most of the DZ. Need some advice on this team - does it need a Chelsea midfielder or defender?

    Krul Elliott
    Baines Chambers Clyne(5.4) Wisdom STaylor
    AdM(9.8) Sanchez Sigurdsson Downing*(5.8) Marney
    Costa Aguero Pelle (8.1)

    2 FT, 0 in bank

Have included the selling prices of potential candidates for the chop. Some options i'm considering are

    A) Pelle Clyne Downing > Kane, Duff/Hutton, Hazard (-4)
    B) Pelle Chambers AdM > Austin, Terry, Hazard (-4)
    C) Pelle Downing > Bony, Brady + 1.1m
    D) Pelle Downing > Giroud, Dyer

If Downing is out long term, Pelle to Austin / Sakho, Downing to Barkley? Think young Ross will be in the points soon.

mate, you know what, another option i'm considering

Pelle Clyne Downing AdM > Barkley Hazard Austin Terry (-8) but i know it's going to be shot down on the boards immediately, so its just for my personal consideration 🙂

Pelle to Austin and then hold fire. Monitor Downing. Chambers can stay a bit longer, just maybe. I won;t get rid of ADM.

Yea would be dependent on Downing news. If I could afford a straight swap Pelle > Giroud, and we get some assurances re Giroud's game time - worth doubling up on ARS? I'm not sold on budget strikers tbh.

With this kind of form, not worth it. I already got Austin, I believe he will do well despite the budget striker tag.

I guess we just have to not panic if he blanks, can't expect consistency at that price esp for a QPR striker. If downing is out, perhaps a punt on Barkley is in order. My secret little punt that i've been monitoring for a couple of weeks now (if he gets reduced minutes in Europe)

Thanks, if i do that, I could move Chambers on instead of Clyne - might keep Clyne. I know he won't score every week...but I think Southampton will get some surprises over their tough run defensively at least.

    Bego/Gilks
    Moore Baines Naylor Clyne Chambers
    Sanchez Fab ADM Siggy Marney
    Sakho Kun Pelle

    Pelle+clyne+bego > Rooney+Yun+Krul/guzan/heaton??
    Or do I need Costa?

I'd say you need Costa, just need to decide which of your premium mids you want to sell.

ADM - next 2 are great fixtures, should keep.
      Fab - Mr. Consistency
      Sanchez - in great form

good luck!! Otherwise you could do Pelle to Austin and get Ivan if you are happy to weaken your forward line.

        Yup that's only averaging 8.7ppg,
The man is a bonus darling, involved in set pieces and with Rvp Gametime an issue over such a short span he may be on penos.

        1. Billy Gilmore
          • 11 Years

          "only averaging 8.7ppg"

First of all that's Suarez level, second of all he averaging only just over half of that so far this season.

He 'might' get 26 points, and is a good option but it's far from guaranteed.

    3. Jacques The Lad
      • 9 Years

It is certainly enticing but for a lot of people the question is whether bringing in rooney alongside Kun and Costa would make up for the hit the midfield would surely have to take. I would venture it wouldn't be as he is likely to drop back with Falcao training again

      You know what lads?
Ye are a bunch of boring gits!
The overall winner will see these kinda moves and take some chances over the 38 weeks and it will ultimately give him the title,
Stay narrow minded and stay safe in the top 10k of 100k - whatever yere ambition may be,
If you wanna win this sometimes you gotta take a chance and think outside the box,
No offence intended but sometimes the lack of ambition on here is crinimal.

So you admit it would be taking a chance? Nobody has suggested it's a bad risk - people are disputing your initial statement that he's guaranteed at least 26 points!

        1. HVT
          • 13 Years
          9 years, 5 months ago

Of course it's a risk GWM, everything we do on here is a gamble.
I threw in the 26pts to see what reaction I'd get and boy did I,
I actually do fancy Rooney to do well who knows, in fact if I'd my way I'd drop Rvp and play Rooney up top and get Mata in there as well.
Let's keep an eye on how Wayne does over the 3 I've just that hunch he may be going in a run.

Ok, it's a bit much to accuse everyone of being narrow minded when they don't agree with your assertion on his definite points tally over the next 3 though! I don't see anyone rejecting the idea of buying Rooney in general - certainly if I was on a wildcard I'd strongly consider him, as it is I can't prioritise him though.

            Are you getting him? 😉

Don't know right now, an injury in ucl would accelerate my thoughts,
But it would have to be:
              Austin/Adm(fab)(Sanchez) > Chadli/Rooney -4
              To give me Costa/Aguero/Rooney
              Looks awsome doesn't it?
              Still gives 2 big mids/Siggy/Chadli/downing
And a reasonable defence, and a nice (c) headache most weeks!
I'll have to see what tues/wed brings ucl wise mate.

There's little doubt he'll get decent points at certain points in the season and this could well be one of them - good chance to steal a march on the opposition if you call it correctly. The trouble is you have to lose one or two good options to get him. That is a nice forward line though 🙂

    Krul
    Baines - Clyne - Janmaat
Fabregas - Di Maria - Sanchez - Downing
    Costa - Aguero - Sakho

Subs : - Elliot , Wisdom, Yun, Boyd

Also what back 3/4 do I play and if I play Yun whom do I drop?

Anything can be made up though. With the likes of Costa Aguero Sanchez ADM. These guys can make 20pts in one game so a captain choice or two would make that up

basically sitting with having costa or azpi? usually a no brainer but just think about the 5m price difference, differential poinys and having 5m to spend on the rest of the team what should i do????already hav fab and haz? and would mean me getting bony instead of costa as a replacement for pelle?

I might do this UNTHINKABLE moves..

Clyne Chester Downing -> Yun Bartley ADM (-8)

    to give me this

    Krulliot
    Baines Hutton Wisdom Yun Bartley
    Sanchez ADM Fab Siggy Marney
    Kun Costa Austin

i think I can rotate those 4 Defenders for 2 spots right until Jan WC. If it fails miserably, I still have my seasonal WC intact. But that midfield really gets me excited.

Can someone knock my head on the wall?

    1. NABIL - FPL otai

Pelle to Austin left me with 2.4 itb. Instead of Azpi, I can now do Chester to JT and still have 0.5 itb. I can even do Fab to ADM/Haz this week for a hit then 😉

if you feel it's the right set of moves.

I just feel Yun and Bartley are big rotation risks. Would leave you too weak in defence over the busy period imo.

I can't see Fab getting through those 3 games without a yellow,
I've set aside the cash for Hazard tbh in preparation.
What kind of contingency have others lined up?

Same. See below, should leave me with 0.8 in bank, enough to do Fab > Hazard, needs to get through this GW without a yellow though.

Only thing to remember is that if he gets a yellow in GW 15, he misses league cup game.

I can. He barely does any defensive work anyway, so he'll probably just not tackle at all now.

Plan is as follows, assming no injuries:

Pelle > Austin / Sakho this week, bench Moses and play Boyd vs Villa
    Moses > Barkley next week

    Thoughts?

Anyone think Barkley will be in the points soon? Encouraging for me he hasn't scored yet since he's come back, hoping he's due.

    Forster > Foster, Pelle > Costa (-4)

    Or

    Pelle > Rooney (free)

If the 2nd one then it would be Roo for 2 weeks then Costa in

          K need to do a s/s:
          HVT - gw11 = 74
          Gw12 = 49
          Total=123

          MJ - gw11 = 73
          Gw12 = 49
          Total=121

Nothing in it, tbf -early days tho.
I'd feel you may be a little disappointed with your outcome so far,
Would it be fair to say this?
