FFS Cup

FFS Paddy Power Cup X – Entry Still Open

As we brace ourselves for the beginning of a packed festive schedule, we’re rolling out a final heads-up on the tenth Fantasy Football Scout Cup, sponsored by Paddy Power. Free-to-enter, the qualifying round is set to take place in Gameweek 13, so if you fancy your chances of joining previous winners donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 and reigning champion Gribude in our hall of fame, read on for more details:

Seasoned veterans can click here to submit their entry. For full details of when it starts and the prizes on offer, read on…

What is the Paddy Power Cup?

The Paddy Power Cup is our version of the Fantasy Premier League’s Fantasy Cup game. Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores). In the event of a tie, the Fantasy manager ranked highest in the overall standing will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round will take place in Gameweek 13 but you can enter after the Gameweek is played out. All entries received before Tuesday December 2 will be entered into the qualifying round. In this first cup competition we will have 1024 qualifiers for the first round – those 1015 (plus nine previous winners who will earn a bye if entered) with the top scores in Gameweek 13 will progress to the first round proper to be played in Gameweek 15. Again, FPL standing will decide who progresses in the event of tied positions.

How do I enter?

Simply fill out the entry form here. You will be asked to verify your FPL team ID – note that, if you fail to confirm your ID, you will not be entered. You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry. You can also check that you are entered via this list.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the qualifying round will be published on Tuesday December 2.

What is the Gameweek Schedule

Each round of the Paddy Power Cup will be played out over the following schedule:

  • Qualifying – Gameweek 13
  • Round 1 – 1024 teams – Gameweek 15
  • Round 2 – 512 teams – Gameweek 16
  • Round 3 – 256 teams – Gameweek 17
  • Round 4 – 128 teams – Gameweek 18
  • Round 5 – 64 teams – Gameweek 19
  • Round 6 – 32 teams – Gameweek 20
  • Round 7 – 16 teams – Gameweek 21
  • Quarter-Final – 8 teams – Gameweek 22
  • Semi-Finals – 4 teams – Gameweek 23
  • Final – 2 teams – Gameweek 24

When are the fixtures released?

The fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

Are there prizes?

Sponsors Paddy Power are supplying the competition with some great prizes and we’re supplementing these with Amazon Vouchers. The prizes break down as follows:

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon Voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon Voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon Voucher

In addition, the top scoring manager from each round will win a £25 free bet from Paddy Power on supply of their Paddy Power username.

Cup Entrants will need a Paddy Power account and be aged 18 or over to be eligible for some of the above prizes. Prizes are also subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. You can, of course, enter without being over 18 and without a Paddy Power account but will not be eligible for the free bet prizes.

Do I have to enter if I’m a previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed, we will need to record you entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFS username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament. Ideally, you will already have a username with us but this is not essential to enter – you must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles. You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament, should you do so without permission, or should you enter multiple teams or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from the tournament.

Yeah agree on chadli. there's just no cheap options, and i don't like any of the mids under 10m right now other than siggy, downing, and oscar, hence why I'm keen on Hazard. I think Ings could be well worth it too, especially if it leaves me 2.0m to spend in GW14

          I agree with Mull.

Ox is nailed due to all the injuries at Arsenal, and his underlying stats suggest a haul is imminent. Plus, Chadli is out, can't get any less nailed-on than that....

            • 9 Years
            9 years, 5 months ago

But is Costa + Ox really going to outscore Hazard + Ings + 2.0 (that can go towards Chambers>Terry for example)? I don't think so...

          bony
we've talked before -his stats can be read both ways but i do think you should prioritise haz=deffo not enough wonga

            • 9 Years
            9 years, 5 months ago

yeah i think bony is certainly a good option, but i think siggy is enough swansea, and i prefer getting hazard. Going for Bony just messes up my chances of upgrading tadic to someone decent... and with the cheap and mid-range mids failing, having bad fixtures, or being injured (i.e. downing, chadli, eriksen, tadic, sterling, etc) i prefer going big in midfield instead of fwd

Everyone sticking with Baines this week?

I'm thinking of going wisdom to Bartley. Confident Bartley will start. Just then got to chose one of Clyne Bartley or yun to start and one as first sub to cover Baines. Couldn't stand dumping Baines only for him to be fit.

      9 years, 5 months ago

I don't like the move tbh... Too short term with Bartley almost certainly only in for a couple of games, whilst Wisdom is a solid bench defender to own. If Baines is injured, sell him. If you take the risk of keeping him, you hope he starts, rather than assuming he doesn't. Swansea could go on a mini run of CS and it could work out great, of course, but I don't think it's worth a transfer.

      1. Pie-o-My
        • 10 Years
        9 years, 5 months ago

Do you reckon there is enough cover in a defence of Azpi Clyne wisdom yun for Baines? Don't much fancy Clyne or wisdom for a clean sheet. Other option is Clyne to Naylor. His yellows worry me, could go Rangel I suppose. Baines to Coleman but that too seems a waste as I'll reverse it at the first opportunity.

I have got to do that most boring of transfers and swap my keeper (Bego). Best keeper to rotate with Krul:

Burnley have the better rotating fixtures, but Foster is probably the better keeper – tough on, any advice welcome!!

    Current squad for GW13

    De Gea (Mannone)
Bertrand - Ivanovic - Clyne - (Wisdom, Cameron)
Di Maria - Sanchez - Oscar - Sadio Mane (Albrighton)
    Costa - Welbeck - Berahino

Want to use my wild card, need aguero in somehow and maybe remove the southampton players. Thoughts? Thanks.

Depends how much you want to rip it apart for Aguero.

      Ivan to Azpi
Clyne or berts to Cheaper option
      Berahino to Austin
      Mane to Downing
      De gea to fabianski

Pick one, Chadli and Pelle out. 2 FTs.

    (A) Rooney and Brady
    (B) Austin and Oscar (cannot afford Hazard or Fabregas)

Does Ivanovic come up for corners? How is attacking threat? And would you say he's nailed on?

Anyone tempted to put Bartley in for the short term?

I have no pressing issues this week and im thinking of putting him in for Duff or Hutton.

Love these kind of weeks in FPL. Everyone's unsure on their captain choice and a differential option can really shoot you up the rankings. A brace from Bony would be amazing on Saturday.

Or a brace from Austin! 😉

Austin too punty as a cpt choice this week? I'm tempted.

I would be in dreamland with that as long as Costa doesn't get a hattie

Chelsea rarely score more than 2 goals so it's unlikely.

Bony's not a differential anymore, sorry to break it to you but a lot of people on here now have him. The casuals won't but the better guys will.

He's differential enough. Still going to be a massive green if he does score a few at a weekend.

4.9% ownership. He'll be a differential captain, that's for sure.

I'd love a Bony brace! He's my captain but I'd rather go ADM, Fabregas or perhaps Costa (but I don't have any of these).
