The Fantasy Flutter – Gameweek 17

We’re backing City’s veteran midfielder to deliver in this week’s attempt to get the better of Paddy. With a tenner in hand, we also place our faith in the Hammers’ top scorer at home to Leicester, whilst a move up front bring Liverpool’s young starlet back on the radar.

Our first stop is at the Etihad, then, as the champions prepare for the visit of Palace. Frank Lampard took his tally to four strikes in just 298 minutes with the winner in last week’s victory at Leicester and his eye for goal could be key as Manuel Pellegrini looks to roll out a striker-less system to deal with the injury crisis. With Paddy offering 10/3 on Lampard to score and City to keep a clean sheet against Palace, we’re more than willing to take a punt and part with £3 for this one.

Up next, we move to Upton Park as West Ham prepare for the visit of Leicester. Diafra Sakho has scored in four of his five home appearances in the league and, with five wins and a draw in the last six in front of their own fans, Big Sam’s side look likely victors here. Paddy are prepared to offer 12/1 on Sakho to score two or more and the Hammers to register a clean sheet and we’re making this our bet of the week, with a further £4 shelled out.

Finally, we switch to Anfield as Liverpool and Arsenal go head-to-head. Shifted into a central role up front in each of the last two matches, Raheem Sterling posed United plenty of problems in the final third before bagging a brace at Bournemouth on Wednesday evening. The youngster’s confidence will be on the up for this one and with odds of 11/1 on a Sterling goal and Liverpool clean sheet, our final £3 goes Paddy’s way.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    What would you do lads?

    a) Costa to RVP
    b) Costa to Kane, Albrighton to Yaya (-4)
    c) Costa to Sakho, Albrighton to Erikson (-4)

Front 8 at the moment is:
    Downing, Sanchez, Hazard, Siggy, Albrighton
    Costa, Austin, Bony

right, to take out krul or not.....have foster/krul, 1FT and no other issues in the team. So:

West brom fixtures till gw22: qpr MCI sto whm HUL
    - I am expecting 1 cs vs. hull. qpr/whm/sto although not top tier should score at home

Only replacements i can see for krul that rotate well with wba are villa and west ham

A: Guzan: MUN swa SUN CPL lei
    - i can see them keeping 2 cs and rotates well but even if i do this transfer, i would probably still start foster over guzan for this GW so not really worth making the transfer this gw

B: Adrian : LEI che ARS WBA swa
    - doing krul to adrian makes a bit more sense as i will start adrian this gw.
    - However, i will only start adrian over foster this gw and gw 20. So worth spending a transfer in the hope of 2 extra cleanies (8 point diff at best given a tranfer effectively costs 4 points).

Conclusion: Just thinking of sticking with foster and hope for save points?

Have a feeling this is going to be a crucial decision this week, so have thrown a few reasons for both down - which one gets your vote and why?

    A) Carroll
    - on pens (whilst Noble is out)
    - up against 2 sides at home in the next 3 that struggle with crosses into the box (where he thrives)

    B) Sakho
    - cheaper
    - more consistent
    - marginally better stats

sakho - because he's in my draft team and because he's not carroll 😉

I have Carroll. Think he's the better option of the two, despite price.

I went for Carroll as well, Jinswick. The force is strong with him and West Ham right now.

    My squad is

    Hart
    Janmatt azpili baines
    Downing Sanchez hazard yaya (c)
    Cisse Costa Kane

    Jakupovic siggy Toure Hutton

I'm thinking of make 2 transfers this week, all depends on how well baines siggy sterling and Clichy play.

    Siggy - sterling
    Baines - clichy

    Guzan
    Baines Clyne Terry
    Hazard Downing Yaya Siggy
    Austin(c) Rooney Costa

4.0 Yun Boyd Bruce 1 FT 1.4 ITB

    A) Save
    B) Clyne to Zabaleta
    C) Something else

    Cheers lads

    Dilemma..

Stick with Baines for this GW? Or get in Zab for City's next four fixtures?

Baines with no mirallas so keep till he is back... That's my plan anyway

dare i say, bench costa and play 5 in midfield which includes both eriksen and siggy with downing, haz and sanchez with kane and austin upfront?

yep it is a gamble but like it, Word of warning though, Costa will prob score and Spurs do have a habit of flattering to decieve agains t "weaker" opposition
