Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 23

Our post-Gameweek look at the new injuries sustained over the weekend brings worrying news for Sam Allardyce as a trio of Hammers players limped off at Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers eases fears over his captain’s weekend absence, though Stoke have concerns over Ryan Shawcross once again.

Chelsea
Willian was replaced on 79 minutes of last night’s draw with City at Stamford Bridge after picking up an injury, according to the club’s official website.

Crystal Palace
In his first appearance since Gameweek 16, Marouane Chamakh lasted just 24 minutes before being forced off in Palace’s home loss to Everton with a suspected broken nose. Alan Pardew remains optimistic that the Moroccan will be back in time for next week’s trip to the King Power Stadium:

”The loss of Cham was crucial today, his guile and experience around the box would have been important. He’s got a broken nose we fear, so fingers crossed he doesn’t get my cold. He wasn’t concussed, but it was a heavy blow to the nose. But I think he’ll be okay for Leicester.”

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers allayed fears over Steven Gerrard’s absence from yesterday’s win overWest Ham, with the Reds skipper expected to return for the midweek FA Cup replay against Bolton:

“It was just precautionary, really. After the game the other night, his hamstring was tight. We’ve got a lot of games over the coming months, so we didn’t want to risk it when we have other players that are fresh.”

Southampton
Lloyd Isgrove was a late withdrawal from the Saints squad that lost to Swansea today, meaning Ronald Koeman could only name six subs in the 1-0 defeat.

Stoke
The Potters skipper Ryan Shawcross lasted just 41 minutes of the 3-1 win over QPR before being forced off through injury.

Sunderland
Wes Brown missed the Black Cats’ 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after failing to prove his fitness upon returning to training, confirmed Black Cats boss Gus Poyet:

“Wes trained for a couple of days and it is nothing serious, so it is just about making sure he is 100% so that when we throw him in he is ready because I can tell you that it is very hard. It is great for us because we now have a big squad and I can refresh the team if I need to, but of course the ones that performed at 3pm against Burnley will have a better chance next week.”

Swansea
Marvin Emnes lasted just 15 minutes of this afternoon’s trip to Southampton before being withdrawn due to injury. Garry Monk has further worries on the flank after Emnes’ replacement Mo Barrow was stretchered off towards the end of the 1-0 win. Leon Britton missed today’s clash due to illness, according to the club’s official website.

West Ham
Sam Allardyce is counting the cost of yesterday’s loss to Liverpool after a trio of players were forced off through injury at Anfield. The Hammers boss saw centre-halves James Collins and Winston Reid both limp off with hamstring injuries, whilst Andy Carroll picked up a knew problem in the 2-0 defeat. Post-match, Allardyce rolled out an update:

Those three coming off has thrown us into a major crisis at the minute injury-wise and you can’t expect to come to a place like Liverpool and win when those things go against you. In all fairness to Ginge, because of the injuries we had in defence [in the build-up] he tried to come in and get through this game himself, but his hamstring injury had obviously re-occurred by half-time.

Allardyce also confirmed that midfielder Cheick Kouyate missed out after returning from international duties with Senegal nursing a back injury.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

What to do with this mess

    Foster, Myhill
    Terry Bert, Clyne, PVA, Baird,
    Sanchez, Hazard, Fabregas, ADM, Downing,
    Aguero, Kane, Austin

    2 ft and 0.3 Itb

Was planning Terry and Downing to Caz and Bellerin but Berty has changed it ... 🙁

    A. Fab, Bert to Clichy, Silva
    B. Austin, Bert, Fab to Bellerin, Sterling, Giroud (-4)
    C. Stick to Terry, Downing to Caz, Bellerin
    D. Other

It feels like there must be a better option but I can't find it. Help please !!

    my backline this week:
    Wolly (new)
    Terry (avl)
    Wisdom (bur)
    Clichy (HUL)
    Alderweireld (qpr)

Toby might not be ready in time but probably start Terry, Clichy, Wisdom with Wolly as first spot

Probably Eriksen imo, you have Kane, so if you're ok with saving a trannie for the DGW to get Eriksen in then you're fine.

I'm personally not a fan of triple Arsenal attack, but I can see why you'd go with that option

haha ya a tough decision . See :

          a) Sanchez - if he's further out , easy for you .
          b) Eriksen - keep him now if you can field enough for gw27 , save a ft to get him for the following gw28 , in form
          c) Silva - less form , Hull game his advantage but may be Kun is enough ? not sure .

Eriksen. I am doing the same this week.

His form is great, but, most of his points have come from direct free kicks (which will regress) and with Chadli likely to start from this week, Eriksen normally suffers. Oh and I don't like their next 4 fixtures:

      ARS, liv, WHU, blank

Kane is enough for now (with a plan for Eriksen in GW28)

Sterling is a very good pick but I don;t like his fixtures. Hence I'd prefer a midfield line of

Really? Sterling, and Arsenal mid, and Silva, right there you have three solid go-to's on a WC. The midfield is where the value is at this season mate, too many goal scoring mids this season to invest all your funds up top mate.

Walcott is certainly an option and so Ozil, albeit I'm not in the know as to who rotatable their spots are and can only make educated guesses mate. I'd wait for more news on Sanchez fwiw, you might garner a better response from people after IMO

Good luck. You can do it. Only a few differentials and you'll achieve that, trust me 😉

My differentials are in my defence. My attack is pretty standard but I'm happy with them! Keeping Sanchez hopefully works like a charm.

Be interesting to see if Arsenal can maintain this defensive form.

Spurs (A) is a tough game. Spurs are firing lately. Fantastic form from Kane/Eriksen.
Leicester (H) is a sure win but Leicester have proven they can score against the big teams.
Palace (A) is a tough game always.

What do you guys think? Think it's possible for 3/3 cleansheets?

Berty & Giroud ➡ Bellerin & Sturridge (-4). What do you think?

    will give me this:

    Panti Krul
    JT Jones Bellerin PVA Wisdom
    Sanchez Santi Haz Walters Boyd
    Kun Kane Studge

Sturridge has bad fixtures. At 11.1 you compare Costa 11.0 who is in the top team, with Fab, Haz Oscar, Cuadrado supplying him. overpriced without Suarez this year?

Not necessarily. LIV playing decently despite the lack of world class midfielders a la CHE, plus he's on PK duties and i believe he's fixture proof. Price is arguably inflated, I agree.

Bu then it allows me to get Bellerin. Oh well, maybe I'm just over-thinking.

Sturridge is a decent pick but don't do this right away. Find out if he's fit before the deadline. He may play the Bolton game midweek. Normally I would advise against Sturridge but having him in your side makes sense. Triple Arsenal attack is not practical. Looks good!

Cheers man. Yeah you're probably right, Studge can wait at least after midweek, or even a few weeks. But I like the way he scored, reminds me of his quality.

"Liverpool in no rush to start Sturridge." As exciting as it is to have him back, he's too expensive if he's only going to be getting 1/2 hour for a couple weeks.

    Defoe in
    Austin Out?

If Bert has 3 game suspension Bellerin in for him?

    Forster/Hammer
    Bert(possibly Bellerin)/Terry/PVA/Wasi/Wisdom
    Silva/ADM/Alexis(not sure what to do)/Hazard/Boyd
    Kun/Kane/Austin
    2ft with 0 ITB

Think both those moves make sense. V interested on your team, we have 10 of the same players and the exact same midfield!
Bellerin may not be up for a cs this week but bert out for 3 then makes sense. If out for 1 would hold

Need to replace Berty. Thinking of GW 27 blank. Which def will you get? Stoke (HUL), NEW (AVL) or SWA (bur)? Max 4.5, wanna save money.

there was an 'inside source' that said he was out 4 weeks and this information came out the day before Arsene's presser when the general public first new of any injury to him..

I think he'll miss Spurs too as all of Arsenal's midfield showed they can function without him if need be and Arsene won't want to risk breaking him before CL

Hopefully Sanchez is somewhat fit. If he is Wenger will play him for the Spurs game. Top 4 is tight and that is a huge game being a derby.

as much as someone on the internet claiming to have an inside source can be..but it's curious that we got that info from him BEFORE Arsene so that's why I've been giving it a bit of credence
