Injuries

Sanchez Ruled out of North London Derby

In his Thursday lunchtime press conference, Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Alexis Sanchez will miss Saturday’s trip to Tottenham with the hamstring injury that forced him out of last weekend’s win over Aston Villa.

Discussing the injury situation, the Gunners boss admitted the Chilean could be in contention for the plum home clash against Leicester, however – which takes place just three days after their trip to White Hart Lane:

“The latest is that Alexis is not ready. He is not far away, the Leicester game is a possibility. He is of course very difficult to keep quiet! He is training but it’s light training.”

Sanchez has tumbled 0.2 in price in the FPL game this week and now sits at 11.3 – given that winter wildcards are still in play, today’s news will spark a further exodus. With Santi Cazorla in such fine form and with both Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott bagging a goal apiece against Paul Lambert’s side, there are no shortage of options available for Fantasy managers to consider in Wenger’s midfield right now.

The Arsenal boss also confirmed that Danny Welbeck is available for selection and with the schedule picking up pace, he clearly doesn’t have to rush his star player back into action. If Sanchez is fit for midweek, though, those who choose to sell face an uncomfortable Tuesday evening’s viewing if his manager choose to unleash him against the league’s third worst defence – his last seven appearances at the Emirates have garnered 78 points, with returns of 13, 16, 2, 9, 9, 10 and 19 points.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

it's at times like these that i wonder if someone told you the Spurs/Ars game was going to be 0-0 (and they knew for sure as they had a time travelling hot tub etc), whether you'd transfer out Alexis Sanchez for another player. Or would you take his 'blank' on the chin, be thankful you bought him at 10.3 and hope for better in the next few games.....

i mean i know you only have 38 chances at scoring points in this game (and that's something a hall of famer like EVS has remembered very well over the years) but sometimes it feels like you need to take one on the chin for a better long term outlook.

        oh i don't know.

I am sticking with Alexis. I got him early and yes, I will take the blank on the chin and move on. What will let me decide if I sell him would be the midweek game against Leicester.

After Lei match, 10 days break so he will be defo back by then.
For me it's either you take him out now or you keep him even if he's not playing agains Lei.

Looking to bring in a non-typical pick (not Silva)for Sanchez on my wildcard.

    Hazard Sterling Cazorla Sanchez

Was thinking Coutinho, which would allow the Aguero Falcao Giroud front three.

    Krul Panti
    Bellerin Zouma Wisdom Robertson PvA
    Haz Carz Silva ADM Walters

£2.1m ITB and another WC available when needed.

I already have Theo, can't gain from Silva or Caz so who to get for Sanchez

    a) Oscar - set-pieces and a good fixture but blows hot and cold
    b) Ozil - on form and 2 nice fixtures, easy to swap back to Sanchez if needed
    c) Coutinho - no idea why I'd buy him

Why can't you gain from Silva? Surely you want the players who will be scoring the most points?

Are your other players not differential enough to make up the points while matching him with Silva? I'd be more worried about losing more ground with Silva vs Hull, Stoke, Newcastle in the next 3.

yup, that really is a kick in the b*lls.

Absolutely no idea if he's back for Leics -as even bench appearance could bring returns and thus a halt in sales.

    Krul,

    Ericksson, Silva, Carzola, Hazard
    Augero, Giroud, Kane

    Subs: Panti, PVA, Hutton, Boyd

Start Panti despite Krul playin at home? Better keeper rotation?

Welbeck will be backup/sub for Giroud I'd say.

Hi all, I am really struggling with my wildcard defense, I currently have:
    Clyne, PvA, Zouma, Naughton, 5.7m
I am struggling to justify a defender around that price point, any suggestions (already have 3 Arsenal) - cheers!

When will Chelsea DGW be confirmed for GW28?

If so GW 28 best week to play WC.

Offload Chelsea and spurs players before then buy back in for GW28?

Who would I have to transfer to help this?

    Foster, Myhill

    Terry, Bertrand, Cahill, Wisdom, Wasilewski

    Walcott, Hazard, ADM, Downing, Boyd

    Aguero, Austin, Kane

    1FT 3.1ITB

    Thoughts appreciated

Dont double Chelsea defense. Get rid of Cahill. But Bertrand also trouble.
Fine to bench Terry, Hazard, Kane in GW27 but if you dont lose much value fine to sell one.
Could bring in extra Spurs player in GW28, Eriksen or Chadli, good you have Austin too.
Costa needed in Chelsea DGW, does anybody know when that is?

Arsenal with Sanchez starting, scored 7 goals in their last 4 games. In the last 2 games that Sanchez has not started, Arsenal have scored 8. Fair to say that Arsenal are a better attacking side without him. #notessential #theoisbetter #lethimplaywithhisdogs
