Injuries

The Treatment Table – Gameweek 26

We cast an eye over the new injuries sustained during the weekend’s ten fixtures this evening. Problems mount for Palace up front, Newcastle’s concerns continue, whilst United’s misfiring Dutchman is set for ankle scans after Saturday’s loss at Swansea.

Aston Villa
Kieran Richardson was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke due to injury.

Crystal Palace
Fraizer Campbell was withdrawn during the Eagles’ home loss to Arsenal after picking up a hamstring problem. Marouane Chamakh failed to feature against his former club due to a similar complaint.

Liverpool
Mamadou Sakho missed today’s clash with Southampton due to a hip problem, the Reds’ official twitter feed has confirmed.

Man United
The Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of Robin van Persie after the Dutchman left the Liberty Stadium on crutches after sustaining an ankle injury Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea. United are expected to know results of scans on the Dutchman by some point tomorrow.

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat limped off with a groin problem during the Magpies’ 5-0 hammering at the Etihad on Saturday evening. Manager John Carver confirmed:

“He has got a tight groin. I don’t think he’s too serious at the moment, but it is tight and we took him off as a precaution.”

QPR
Niko Krancjar limped out of the R’s narrow loss at Hull on Saturday and was replaced by Armand Traore on 78 minutes.

Southampton
Steven Davis was replaced at the break during the Saints’ home encounter against Liverpool after picking up a knock.

Sunderland
Billy Jones missed the Black Cats’ goalless draw with West Brom due to injury.

Stoke
Erik Pieters was replaced with five minutes remaining of the weekend win at Villa due to injury.

West Ham
Carlton Cole was forced off due to injury during the Hammers’ draw at Spurs this afternoon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Need serious help:

    Panti, Heaton,

    Wisdom, PVA, Jones, Moreno, Bellerin

    Hazard, ADM, Cazorla, Boyd, Elia

    Aguero, Giroud, Sturridge

    1.8itb and 1FT

Feel like i need to get rid of wisdom, jones, bellerin and elia and maybe even sturridge...grrrr

Dont get rid of Jones before Sunderland.

Anyone you get rid of, you need to bring in Chelsea/Spurs for the double since you have none currently

Yeah not having Kane at the very least is not good at all. Why not just hold on to the transfer and then do Sturridge to Kane and ADM to Eriksen OR Wisdom to Rose next gw?

    Panti/Krul
    JT/Clyne/Wasil/Hutton/Bellerin
    Sanchez/Haz/Ozil/silva/Colback
    Kane/Austin/Kun

    Considering:

or just do 1FT, play 9 and have 2FT for DGW?

Don't beat up on Berahino. He's scored more than 100 pts, and represents one of the best value players in terms of PPM.

West Brom don't score many goals away though, so you could use seem of the funds to upgrade Boyd to someone you could rotate when WBA away from home.

You might also need to do something about Wally

I agree. You just have to wait for Wenger to troll everyone in his prezzer and hope that Wally gets some game time. Getting crowded in Arsenal's attacking four though.

Not usually worth taking hits for defenders. It's also not obvious who is likely to get a clean sheet this weekend. If anyone.

I would look to get Wollscheid or Dawson in this week

2 FTs. Thinking of doing Terry < Rose this GW, then get two more DGW players next week. This means Baird must play for me this GW.

Alternatively, I get a good defender this GW (like Cresswell), and play one less DGW player next.

    Thoughts?

Both are good moves. I'll be doing the first one myself.

As for DGW players, it's often worth taking -4 hits to get in attacking players. However, who do you really want from Spurs, QPR? Kane, Austin, Eriksen is about it, and Eriksen was benched at the weekend.

I don't usually ask for help, but I was hoping some of you can comment on my team and strategy for the coming weeks. My team currently looks like:
    Foster( Myhill)
    PvA/Jones/Janmaat/Hutton/Wasi
    Oscar/Hazard/Sanchez/Cazorla/Eriksen
    Gayle/Aguero/Giroud
    2 FT and .3 itb.

I was thinking of going Sterling>Oscar this week and Kane+Austin> Gayle+Giroud next week. I really hate my defense but not sure if there are any standout options that I can afford currently so I'll focus on midfield and attack. I think Sterling might do well against City and having a (semi) heavy hitter in midfield this week could be a differential. Also, he has Burnely at home next of course. I feel that Pool's form is currently too good to ignore and nobody in my ML has him.

    Thoughts?

Sterling, of course always has potential to get points.
Bringing him in vs City though would worry me and probably would put me off doing it.

City have got to really focus on the title now, 5 points behind Chelsea I can't see a result for Liverpool.

I agree that it will be hard for Liverpool to win that game, but City almost never keep a clean sheet so it could easily be 2-3 or something like that. Also, I want to get rid of Oscar as he has a blank and hasn't exactly been on fire lately. Of course I could also go for someone like Boyd and bench him in the DGW. Not sure who else to get in for Oscar.. Any advice?

Di Maria (new), Cazorla (qpr) & Defoe (hul) -> Silva (LEI), Eriksen (SWA, qpr) & Austin (ARS, TOT).

Should I drop one of the transfers?

I saw the whole game... I have also seen players like rooney have one moment of brilliance/luck in a game and it gets them those 4 fantasy points. how many times has haz just scored 10 because of a pen but not threatened the goal otherwise? I fully appreciate it was luck, but at the same time he still scored... all i'm saying is that if you find the net, no matter how lucky it still counts for the same

My defence has needed an upgrade for a long time and Bertie was due in for Baird this week.

Actually, I have just had a bit of a brainwave. My rival only has 8 players playing this week at best, so I will save a transfer and play with 10.

That leaves me 2 transfers next week to bring Eriksen in and then as you say, look at budget defenders like Toby.

Bellerin / PVA were rested as is normal for all players at this time of year. Bellerin has CL this week, and PVA is just back from a long injury lay off. Just squad rotation with no long term issues IMO. People need to chill. Plus Chambers was absolute pants against Palace

I have no worries about Bellerin..
PVA however, since Sunderland have shifted to 4 at the back he's been caught out a lot since he prefers attacking over defending. Reveilleire had a good game and can see him starting again.. if they ever go back to 3-5-2(not likely) Pva looks good for starting. right now he's minutes are up in the air
