Mondogoal

Mondogoal Gameweek 29 – Compete for £30k

There are still over 100 spots in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship as our quest to seal a precious place in the big final day contest continues.

Our tally of 89.12 from Gameweek 28 failed to see us find glory as another batch of managers earned passage.

“Isagunner’s” 110.41 total in the £2 contest was enough to see him claim one of the Gameweek qualifying spots – thanks in no small part to Phil Bardsley’s unlikely 14.24 return against Everton. “Heathsp” saw off “Bouncebackability” to earn passage in another £2 contest with a score of 110.36, while “supercool” prevailed in the £5 contest with a 100.29 and “Top1900” claimed the place from Gameweek 28’s £50 high-roller with 98.17.

There were also some movers in midweek as ChrisDAFC, the recent winner of our Fantasy Football Scout Mondogoal league, earned his fourth and fifth qualifying spots – surely putting him amongst the favourites for the £10,000 top prize. His impressive 127.34 tally in the midweek Champions League qualifiers saw him progress; “Doom” also earned three spots via Mondogoal’s European contests.

Also, it’s worth noting that next midweek, Mondogoal will have a special Champions League challenge that will cost just £1 to enter and the winner will receive a team signed FC Barcelona jersey and a team signed Manchester City jersey.

How Does it Work?

In the final Gameweek of the season, Mondogoal will crown their first World Champion and they will go away with a huge £10,000 top prize.

So far, 55 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with 115 places still up for grabs. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select you line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button. Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

Mondogoal are also offering a signed West Ham United ball in this week’s array of contests – it costs just a £1 to put your hat in the ring for that prize.

FF Scout Gameweek 29 Picks

mg

With two clean sheets in their last three league matches at Goodison Park, Tim Howard’s modest price tag of just 5.2 million sees him get the nod between the sticks for a home encounter with a Newcastle side devoid of the suspended Papiss Cisse. The Jeffrey Schlupp bandwagon has began in earnest this week and we’re backing our man to produce against Hull at the King Power, while John O’Shea and Hector Bellerin both have strong home fixtures, with the latter also having the potential to deliver attacking returns.

The in-form Philippe Coutinho finds a place in our line-up having scored twice in his last three appearances despite setting us back a hefty 13.1 million, while we take a punt on Aaron Lennon, who could start against the Magpies having been ineligible for last night’s Europa League tie against Dynamo Kiev. Coming in at just 5.9 million, we’re prepared to roll the dice.

With United’s defence looking vulnerable against Arsenal, we’re backing Christian Eriksen to add to the doom and gloom at Old Trafford, with our midfield quartet completed by Jason Puncheon, who laid on three assists in his last London derby against West Ham. Palace entertain QPR in Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off, so make sure you check out the teamsheets as you can tweak your line-ups up to ten minutes before kick-off.

We’ve gone for three heavy hitters up front, with Sergio Aguero backed to fire against lowly Burnley, while Olivier Giroud should be fresh and raring to go after only playing 16 minutes as a substitute on Monday night. The Frenchman has scored in his last three league matches and looks a steal at 11.8 million against a West Ham side with numerous concerns at the back. Diego Costa’s meagre 10.3 million price tag has proved to enticing to ignore, with Chelsea backed to take out their frustration over being dumped out of the Champions League on the Saints.

You’ll find our XI in the £2 Qualifying Contest for the Mondogoal £30k World Championship. We’ve also got an entry in the £5 contest offering a £1000 prize pot, so come and take us on!

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

AUSTIN has better fixtures than GIROUD who could be rested for WELBECK whereas AUSTIN won't be dropped for ZAMORA.
and he COSTA lot less than GIROUD

I'm thinking Welbeck may get a bit of a run-about, say, 70mins, then Gdawg comes on for the remaining 20 to ensure he's as fresh as trident for the midweek Champs tie
