Suspensions

The Suspension Tightrope – Gameweek 32

A couple of players failed to make it past yesterday’s deadline extension and resultantly toppled off the Suspension Tightrope in the weekend’s round of fixtures. Both Neil Taylor and Victor Wanyama earned their tenth caution of the campaign and are now set to miss the next two Gameweeks as a result of their indiscretions.

Bearing in mind that Kyle Naughton is already ruled out through injury for the rest of the season, Taylor’s challenge on Aaron Lennon during Swansea’s home draw with Everton means Garry Monk will be devoid of both his first-choice full-backs against Leicester and Newcastle.

Wanyama received yellow for pulling back Sone Aluko during Southampton’s home win over Hull, with the Kenyan now set to miss a trip to Stoke and home encounter with Tottenham.

The Suspension Tightrope has now been extended to 15 yellows, easing worries for a number of players. Cesc Fabregas owners can now breathe a sigh of relief after he avoid incurring the referee’s wrath during Chelsea clash with QPR yesterday, whilst team-mate Nemanja Matic, Villa’s Ciaran Clark, QPR skipper Joey Barton, Stoke’s Phil Bardsley and West Ham centre-half Winston Reid also remain on nine yellows.

Elsewhere, Carlos Sanchez earned a one-match ban after being dismissed during Villa’s vital away win at Spurs. The midfielder will sit out next weekend’s FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool and will therefore be available for the Gameweek 33 trip to City.

In terms of players still serving bans, Seb Larsson, Youssuf Mulumbu, David Meyler, Jonny Evans and Papiss Cisse all remain on the sidelines. Liverpool duo Martin Skrtel and Steven Gerrard, along with Newcastle’s Fabricio Coloccini, will all be available once this evening’s head-to-head at Anfield has passed.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

My point is if you waited all that time for Kun when he was blanking, why not wait on Kane who hadn't blanked that much and who is 6m cheaper? City are in as terrible form as Spurs and they too have no motivation as they are out of the title race. They will easily get a top 4 finish and I don't think they'll have trouble doing so.

The fixtures don't see that terrible for me. And Kane is definitely fixture proof.

Who would you get that is reliable and terrific value as well? Most are chasing points they missed on. Murray, Benteke won't keep it up. I doubt any one of them would outscore Kane till the end of the season.

It will depend on form but for DGW I think Vardy or Nugent could slot in. Then maybe Benteke. It all depends. I'd rather go with strikers who have a lot to play for. A 6 mill striker doesn't need to deliver every week, just needs to create some differential.

looking like the player we had last season, so good value for goals

GW36 looks a bit difficult defensively

debating whether to get Smalling and sell Morgan later, or just get PvA. Looking at fixtures, bar GW36, I'd be happy to play Vardy every week

I won't get burned by Defoe again. Sunderland are a bit better defensively under new management but are still offering nothing offensively. Wouldn't touch Defoe.

You need to factor in the price of taking someone out. I doubt you want Vardy or Nugent to stay. Unless you go 3-5-2 for the run-in.

                  No risk no reward

Leicester have the 2nd attacking stats of any team in the league

could see them scoring in 5 or 6 of their last 8

I expect that selling Kane early might save me money, and I also expect to switch up mainly in mid and forwards from here til end. Everything else should mostly be in place. I probably won't want to stick with Vardy or Nugent long, but there are some arguments for switching to 3-5-2!

I'm chasing my rival and I need to take risks somewhere.

there's an argument for getting Cambiasso and Vardy and go 4-3-3 for DGW then, as Leicester play NEW GW35, use Vardy as 7th attacker and then sell him GW35 or sell Cambiasso and go 3-5-2

The thing about this game is that 1 game changes perspective instantly as with Kun now and Sanchez the week before. They were being dropped and suddenly a big haul after many blanks changes everything. I guess a Kane brace against a sorry Newcastle would change the opinion of most then.

if not on wc there's a logic to keeping.

If on wc then I think having 2 DGW strikers could be the way to go. Given Sturridge may not start both you're left with Remy, plus Leicester or Hull. Givrn Kun has

AVL, tot, QPR and Kane has sot, MCI, sto

I can see more logic to keeping Kun

I don't see 2 DGW strikers worth having. You either get Remy or Sturidge. Too risky having both. You wouldn't want to be stuck with them for the run-in. I always factor in the price of taking out a player that I don't want to keep and I defintely don't wan't Remy. Plus the muscular injury situation is worrying me. Can't see him playing 2 games in 4 days if his hamsting or groin is not ok.

Vardy and Ndoye are too risky for me. Benteke and Sturridge are smart risks imo but not those too. Would probably hurt on the long term.

The vast majority of the game (almost 100%) will be forced to play a Chelsea defender this week against a rampant United...I don't see a CS for them at all...Bench your Chelsea defender and go for Everton or Leicester.

There you go...you now have three plans.

I have no keeper so might as well get one

Only have 3 fit defenders, and don't see it worth a hit to get say, Coleman for -4 when I have 3 that can play

drop Zouma as he isn't getting starts, maybe get a Lei defender since they have a GW33 fixture and a double game week coming up, I'd be very concerned not having Hazard especially with their double coming - maybe drop Sanchez for him

Right let's see, this looks tricky.

Yup probably Zouma > Schlupp this week.

Then Cazorla & Erikson > Hazard (c) & Hendo next week. Can you afford that? Would give you 4 x DGWs for 34

Then if you want anything else it's a hit.

I sure hope Pool don't go crazy on Newcastle tonight. In fact I'd rather they do nothing and not give casuals a reason to buy players with a blank coming up. The casuals don't check fixtures. I can do without some silly price rises.

Is it a bad idea going into GW33 with 10 players as I don't have three playing defenders?

    Heaton (Panti)

    Ivan, Clyne, PVA (Bellerin, Hutton)

    Silva, Fabregas, Hazard, Eriksen (Boyd)

    Aguero, Gomis, Kane

1 FT 1.7m in the bank

I'm tempted to go into GW33 with one less player so next week I can bring in two or three DGW players (e.g. Sturridge/Sterling/Hendo/Skrtl)

Any suggestions on transfers this week or next are welcome, cheers!

I don't think it's a bad idea. More points to be had in GW34 anyways. The -4 you incur later would cancel out any cleansheet points your defender may get this week anyways. I say save, play 10, and then before next gameweek make your team quality by bringing in 2/3 of the Lpool players you mentioned

originally 4-4-2 with him on the bench and Vardy out wide. Then went 3-4-3, he came on for De Laet and Leicester rotated Ulloa, Nugent and Vardy through the middle.

      2nd half.

They switched from four at the back (De Laet - Huth - Morgan - Schlupp) to three (Wasilewski - Huth - Morgan), with Schlupp and Albrighton as wing backs.

It was key to them changing the game, so I fancy him to keep his spot (bar an Upson return)

I think a lot of us seem to have been fooled by Leicester's recent turnaround. I for one am very tempted to get in Vardy. However, we must consider, this is a side who has won 6 games all season,. Also, for the double they are playing Burnley- a side who conceded just one to probably the best attack in the league, and are relegation rivals which usually means a tense affair (both teams don't want to lose) and Chelsea- the league leaders.
Just saying I would not get in a Leicester player over someone like Remy who, despite probably not playing the full amount of time for the double, is a proven goalscorer and has a great supply line.

In the last six gameweeks they've got home matches against Swansea, Chelsea, Newcastle, Southampton and QPR, with just two away trips, to Burnley and Sunderland.

They've scored 8 goals in their last three matches, and are clearly going all out attack in the attempt to stay up - with great effect recently. They're confident, in form, and though defensively they're a mess, they've struck on the kind of attacking quality they hinted at when they put five past United.

They might not stay up, but I think they're going to score a lot of goals. Not sure I'd say the same for Chelsea - one shot on target at QPR, I think Mourinho is looking to shut up shop and grind his way to the title .

Also Burnley have the worst record in the league against their fellow bottom half sides. They're much better when they don't need to go for the win, and can just park the bus and play for a draw. This is far from the case at home to Leicester this late in the season.

If it wasn't for the DGW a very good gamble would be to ditch Chelsea apart from Hazard. United, Arsenal and Liverpool to come smacks of a very big bus at 1-0 up for Chelsea.

Meanwhile Arsenal, CPL, United, Leicester and City just seem hell bent on scoring.

I got Vardy for DGW and nice fixtures, he gave 8 pts in the first game in my team. I am chasing so he will be one of my 2 differentials until the end. Remy seems a good option, but i dont trust Mourinho. He never gives any hint for injuries, starting XI etc. And he may use Drogba in half games until Costa is back. I d rather have a nailed on striker (and there are many of them) but can see why someone will go for Remy.

Which of these would you do for GW 33:

    A) Double up on SOU defenders (and play Fonte and Alderweireld)
    B) Play Mané
    C) Mané to Bolasie for -4p (for one gameweek, WC for GW 34)

I guess Mané is not guarenteed to start the next gameweek?
Bolasie would be a great punt, but I already have Murray. Is it worth the -4p?

      A) since Sou have good defence, I'm not sure what the situation is with Mane though.

If you have Murray don't get Bolaise, they have some tough fixtures after these next couple (Final 4 fixtures are really tough I think).

      1. Zion

Yeah, I'm guessing I'll double up on SOU. Even if it is risky, it'll me less risky than starting Mané.

Bolasie would only be a one gameweek punt, as I'm going all out on double gameweekers with my WC for GW 34.

        Cheers for the input!

I think the biggest problem is Studge, Costa/Remy.

the second won is a derby. Levante will be up for it to get one over Valencia. But should be safe.

Never a fan of picking winners in a Derby, I'd rather pick +1.5 or +2.5 goals depending on odds

I was thinking over 1.5 as soon as I read Danielle's comment

I actually see a goalfest in that but it will come down to if Valencia "allows" that. Levante are quite capable up front but shite in the back.
1.5 is the safe choice I feel.

I assume some of you have. Part of me is jealous and thinks it's cool. But, honestly, that is a very small part. The majority of me thinks it's all so stupid and ridiculous. This, ladies and gents, is perhaps why a lot of rich dudes don't want to just hand a ton of money to their offspring just because they can.

From the little I know of him since a buddy of mine was going on about how much he loves the dude yesterday, I can understand why. And to think that so many posers out there see him as some kind of idol who they should aspire to be is pretty repugnant.

I have in my mind, which is how I roll. Tough to differentiate between Coutinho, Sterling and Hendo. All three about as good as the others.

      Yep....here it is.....

Hendo - reliable plodder, runs about a lot but has pens

Sterling - greedy overrated 20 year old

Coutinho - classy player, powderpuff end product but improved recently.

Maybe not quite 3, but 2 seems about right. While he is a piece of glass and a bit off in the membrane, he is a pretty damn dangerous finisher.

Oh, shitski. Really? Didn't see that. It was down to Aguero, him or Remy for me when looking to get rid of Austin. Was .3 away from Remy, and the Liverpool blank next GW made me look away from Danny. Damn that .3!

.3 away from Aguero, I meant to say. Anybody else get overly angry at themselves for typos? I need to loosen up a bit.
