The Numbers Game – Double Gameweek Form

With the final double Gameweek of the season almost upon us, we turn our attentions to the Opta statistics to assess the recent form of Arsenal and Sunderland.

Using the team profile data, we take a look at both sides displays from Gameweek 30-36 – a period of time that saw them play six times apiece and one that coincides with Dick Advocaat’s arrival at the Stadium of Light.

Had Hazard for 2 years straight ...and am sure the run stretchs back further into the previous season

    This week he's bench fodder

Err, hasn't Hazard started every PL game this season? Isn't he going to play every game like Terry and Ivanovic?

Probably not. And Ivan may not either.

Rival has Ivan and I wanna sell Hazard for Sanchez/Ramsey so I really hope you're right about them two.

But I think they'll both start.

Tough to call isn't it. With the game not having any real importance it seems a perfect opportunity to rest him.

Rest him for what though. A night out when the season is over. I don't get these rest theories. Give him a day off. But not a rest.

Everything mourinho has stated hints that hazard is in line for a rest. This does not mean it will happen but the fact he has played every game also does not mean he will play this one. So he is a doubt.

Worth the risk in starting Cesc?

Or bench him and start Siggy vs CTY?

Easily Vardy. Sterling and Liverpool's form is terrible, Vardy's form is good and Leicesters form is great. Both have favourable fixtures.

I prefer to play the home defender as statistically the home team concedes less. I'm also factoring in Liverpool's last home game of the season and Sunderland needing a result.

I'd do C, Viper, as you're likely to captain Sanchez anyway. Hazard is a potential captain in GW38.

      1. Viper
        • 14 Years

How does captaining Sanchez effect the move? As I wouldn't be captaining Hazard?

        1. Twisted Saltergater
          • 14 Years
          8 years, 11 months ago

I'm assuming you're bringing in an Arsenal player that you're not going to captain as you already have Sanchez? If I was selling Hazard (who you may wish to captain in GW38), then it would only be for someone like Sanchez who would be my first choice captain for this DGW.

Seems a waste losing Hazard for anyone other than Sanchez. If you're thinking of captaining Ramsey, Cazorla or Giroud then go for it.

          1. Viper
            • 14 Years
            8 years, 11 months ago

Ah ok. Yeah I'll be captaining Sanchez. No need to take risks here.

I've no problem bringing in Koscielny but for some reason I'm a little uncomfortable losing Skrtel!

            Thanks!

    Really struggling with this week.

I'm 24 points in front of my rival who has Giroud. We both has Sanchez and Ozil. We also both has Terry, PvA, Hazard, Kun and Kane. So seven players the same.

    What would you do:

    1. A -4 hit to bring in Giroud to cover him (giving us 8 players the same)
    2. No hit - Bertrand > Kos

    1. Twisted Saltergater
      • 14 Years
      8 years, 11 months ago

I don't think you should be worrying with a 24 point lead. He'd prefer to go Sanchez(c) but knows you will, so will do Giroud(c). For that reason, I'd take no hit and do Bertrand -> Koscielny. Sets you up nice for GW38 too.

      1. Norco
        • 9 Years

Would mean I'd be playing Vardy instead of Giroud(-4).
I'll also be hiding behind the couch.

Keeping Vardy is also nice for GW38.

I have Pants, Bertrand*, Skrtel, Yun, Silva, Boyd, Vardy to his Krul, McShane, Rose, Toby, Henderson, McCarthy, Giroud

Very nice - did you have a couple of in-play bets then? I backed RM before kick off, then in-play went for the draw. Once it went 1-1, I hedged my bets so that I lost a little profit but meant I wouldn't lose if Juve found a winner.

I backed the draw in-play 30 secs before RM scored their goal .... would've been bloody nice to back the draw while the score was 1-0. 🙂

Just went with under 6.5 goals as my deadball tonight and put the rest on Ronaldo FGS as a punt, worked out well.

Last night, I played it a bit safer and went Barca or draw before the game and the rest on Bayern as soon as the game started.

Nice fact from Long Juan Silva

All winners of Olympic 100m gold medal since 1972 can trace a common part of their ancestory back to a small region in West Africa.

What big club gives their academy players a fair chance any more. Only a few, with the odd player here and there.

What's worse is that they all hoover up the young talent from all over the world, attracting them with big money only to stunt their development.

The smart one wait at a smaler club until they've made their name, like Christian Eriksen. Shame most can't see past the money.

    Caz (c) - Hendo - Sanchez - hazard - (Boyd)
    Aguero - Kane - (vardy)

Am I crazy for wanting to do:

    Hazard & Skrtel -> Gerrard & Koscielny -4.

I'm currently 14k so would be nice to break into 4 digit territory. My mini leagues are all but wrapped up with 100+ leads.

I already have Panti, PVA, Sanchez & Ozil

I'd then reverse Gerrard -> Hazard in 38!

    Any ideas on this lot?

    Mignolet - Myhill
    Ivanovic - Bertrand - Moreno - Wolly - Duff
    Sanchez - Hazard - Silva - Puncheon - Gomez
    Aguero - Giroud - Vardy

1 FT and 0.3m in the bank.

Thinking of going all out and doing Hazard+Wolly+Vardy ➡ Ramsey+PVA+Defoe for -8? Crazy?

Ramsey and Defoe, not sure Pva is worth a hit esp considering his gw 38 fixture

Don't drop Vardy. Inform player in an inform team. + you already have Gomez. I'd just do Hazard and Pva. But dropping haz for a hit is a bit risky..

    Pants
    Ivanovic Clyne Skrtel
    Silva Hazard Sanchez Mane
    Aguero Kane Vardy

    Wasil Ibe Dawson
    1FT 0.0m ITB

Thinking Silva + Clyne -> Kos + Ozil (-4). I could take out Hazard this week instead of Silva although i would have to take a hit to get him back next week.

ML won comfortably. 62 points behind top 1k. Seriously thinking of going all out these last GWs, even though my chances are pretty slim.

    Schmeichel
    Moreno Duff Alderweireld
    Ramsey (c) Sanchez Cazorla Gomez
    Aguero Kane Vardy

    Hazard Schlupp Terry

As you can see captaining Ramsey and benching Hazard and Terry respectively. Crazy? Don't really want to risk a finish outsite top 10k (currently at 5k).
