Fantasy Flutter – Gameweek 37

In our penultimate head-to-head with Paddy, we’ve invested faith in Liverpool’s departing hero, Arsenal’s midfield orchestrator and Manchester City’s marauding left-back.

Liverpool play host to Crystal Palace on Saturday in what will be Steven Gerrard‘s final run-out at Anfield before his switch to the MLS. Gerrard netted in his previous two starts and will be desperate to the send the Kop into rapture. Ally this with the fact that the Eagles notched a solitary goal in their last four outings and Paddy’s 6/1 odds on Gerrard to score and Liverpool to keep a clean sheet against Palace has tempted us to part with our first £4.

Santi Cazorla – the target of our second wager of the week – attempted more shots (seven) than any other midfielder last Gameweek. Furthermore, no midfielder in the league has fashioned more shots inside the box (nine) than the deep-lying Spanish playmaker in the last three Gameweeks. Considering that the Gunners’ opponents on Sunday, Manchester United, drew blanks in three of their last four, Paddy’s 16/1 offer on Cazorla to score and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet against United encouraged us to hand over another £3.

Our final bet in this round sees us backing Aleksandar Kolarov to continue his hot streak in front of goal (two in three). No defender can match the number of shots on target (five) the Serbian full-back has mustered in the last three Gameweeks, while Kolarov’s free-kick proficiency adds another string to his bow. The Sky Blues recorded shut-outs in three of their last four fixures, prompting us to take up Paddy’s 16/1 offer on Kolarov to score and Manchester City to keep a clean sheet against Swansea.

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Play Krul or swap him for Pantilimon? Other GK is Myhill. tnx Only problem is because i rather play Krul in 38, but I have no money for Myhil -- Panti.

    Pantilimon #

    Schlupp / Terry / PvA #

    Sanchez # © / Ramsey # / Silva / Hazard

    Aguerö / Giroud # / Vardy

Bench: Krul / Rose / Boyd / Dawson

Chasing a 29 pt mini league deficit with 1.1m ITB, 1 FT.

    Do I do:

    (A) Vardy > Defoe
    (B) Boyd > Gomez, bench Vardy
    (C) Hazard > Gerrard (rest risk)
    (D) Leftfield captain choice e.g. Giroud
    (E) hold FT for a double surprise attack next week

Rival and I have really similar teams...

Am in 3rd place in m big cash mini league. 33 points behind 2nd and 37 points behind top. Aprrox £650 for 1st, £350 for 2nd and £250 for third. 4th is 46 points behind me. Really want to go for top spot for the money plus I'm the current holder!
So do I risk it and captain Giroud this week or play it safe with Sanchez? Looks like I'll have about 7 of the same players as both 1st and 2nd so just debating whether I can captain Sanchez, make up a bit of ground with other players hopefully and then go for it next week with the captaincy. What would other people do?

You say that but would hope to maybe make up 15 points or so this week and then 20 points isn't impossible next week with a good captain choice. It's a tough call! I'm a Gooner like you & Giroud always has chance of scoring big after a bad few weeks. Slightly concerned though Titi has knocked his confidence with his comments the other week. Nice rank btw 😉

If you are going to make a move, I feel it has to be this week rather than next week when they will rot aplenty and the usual plethora of strange scores.

I saw on one poll that Rambo makes a reasonable captain alternative to Sanchez. However, there are some serious gametime concerns with him so best avoid.

Gru isn't in great form but you have Ozil and Cazorla as alternatives and they don't make much appeal.

      I think I'd cap'n Caz-then Gru-then Ozil.

      Good luck anyway.

Similar situation although chasing 26, I would captain Sanchez and then go for it next week when there are more variety of captains, he can only pick one so you can take the risk there.

7 differentials is a big number, if they can somehow gain 20 points back this week it will come down to captains next.

It's not mate, I read that wrong, if you had 7 different the you could pace it over 2 weeks, 7 the same means you need to gamble on the captaincy.

I have 8 different players so am playing it safe this week and hoping those 8 claw back some points then going on the attack next week, different situations completely.

Good luck, I'm not feeling Sanchez this week and think Giroud will outscore him but I'm too scared to do it as I want to go to that last week with a chance.

I think so, I've got 3 strong differentials that I feel will do the business this week so if I can get a combined 20 out of them it leaves it all to play for.

I can only get Panti if I downgrade a player. Would give me 5 DGWers.

    What about this?

    Ivan + Myhill > Terry + Panti (-4)

    Worth a go?

I think coutinho will steal slippys thunder tbh... Went with him over gezza....

Gerrard taking a back seat while people wrongly call out cout as the man to take his place ( type thingy)....

Pretty good I would have thought but surely you've better options than Crystal Palace striker away to a motivated Liverpool team?

    Hello FFS,

have 18 point lead in mz cash league, gut feeling tells me that rival brought Sanchey (C) with his 2 FT.

    My team:
    Pants
    Jags Skrtl Toby
    Rambo Ozil Haz Silva
    Gru Tekkers Kun

    is Ozil/Rambo + Tekkers -> Sanchez (c) + Vardy (-4) to block him a good move?
I am tor apart, going to the double without Sanchez could cause me a big headache...
