THE FANTASY FOOTBALL SCOUT LEAGUES ROUND-UP

In the wake of the penultimate Gameweek, we take another look at how the Fantasy Football Scout leagues are shaping up. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.

FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

With one round of fixtures left to play out, Simon March, aka “Dufflinks”, boasts a 34-point lead at the top of the Scout League and the overall rankings. His 70-point haul this Gameweek can be attributed to some astute decisions in defence, with Wes Morgan, Patrick van Aanholt and Simon Mignolet accruing 29 points between them. Alexis Sanchez failed to deliver as captain, but David Silva (nine points) and Sergio Aguero (five points) kept Simon’s tally ticking over.

Second-placed Kev Gleave clawed back four points on Simon this Gameweek while surging up to second place in the global rankings. Kev also captained Sanchez and fielded the Manchester City duo but opted for double Sunderland defensive coverage, with Van Aanholt and Costel Pantilimon serving up strong returns.

Jon Summer stormed into third place with an 85-point tally. Ranked fourth overall, Jon made the brave – but ultimately lucrative – call to captain Laurent Koscielny while also plumping for the above-mentioned Black Cats duo and Leicester City’s Jeffrey Schlupp in defence.

Mariusz Fyrstenberg dropped to fourth after notching a respectable 61 points. He also handed the captain’s armband to Sanchez and went with the Sky Blues duo, but a trio of Liverpool recruits (Martin Skrtel, Raheem Sterling and Jordan Henderson) failed to deliver the goods. Stuart Shingler slipped one place into fifth by way of a 61-point Gameweek. Stuart was given little to cheer about besides the output of Van Aanholt and Pantilimon.

In the Fantasy Football Scout Members League, Simon March  ended the week with a 65-point lead over second-placed Stuart Shingler. Killian Long  now occupies the third berth following a disappointing 58-point haul. The Members League retained second position in the FPL’s “Best League” rankings, behind the Scout League.

ULTIMATE FANTASY PREMIER LEAGUE

Casting an eye over the UFPL Scout League, Damian Lindall (2813) remains in first place, but Obay Eid (2797) closed the gap by 22 points after fielding differentials like Graziano Pelle. Scout contributor Alex Bowers – who won the beta version of the game last term – entered the top three courtesy of a 98-point Gameweek. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.

SKY SPORTS FANTASY FOOTBALL

Geoff Pryor (2427 points) increased his lead at the peak of the Scout League to 13 points over second-placed Steven Adams (2414 points). Katie Burgin (2391) maintains her grip on the bronze medal position. The winner of our Sky league – which retained top spot in the League of Leagues – wins £1,000.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. Adriel Cheung (852 points) extended his lead at the summit to 26 points, with Gavin Rolston (826 points) reclaiming the second-place berth. Juan Garcia (825 points) slipped to third. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

    Wisdom teeth info:

The top two are generally no issue, can be extracted at the dentist. Bottom two are a little more complex. I had to go to hospital and was knocked out for them to get mine out as they had to cut some jaw bone off as well. I didn't sleep for six days straight before the op, it was a constant awful pain and I'd rather break both legs than experience that again - But after, as soon as I came round it felt so much better. I was on a cocktail of drugs for a couple of weeks afterwards, but apart from looking like a squirrel for a few days I felt great. I wouldn't rule him out yet as we obviously don't know what exactly he had done, but they do advise you to not increase your blood flow with exercise and the stitches need to hold. If he had his bottom two removed I'd say he is definitely out as the lower jaw is less dense than the top and takes much longer to heal.

I was awake when I got all 4 of mine out and recovered in three days. But I too think he will be out. Why not rest him and let some other players get time on the pitch

Yep, it is all down to the exact procedure he had to discover the extent of healing time required - Which none of us will know. If he had what you had, there is a good chance he'll feature. Anything a little more drastic I'd say he is out.

Like you said, no need to play him. they had the title winning party last home game after all.

I wouldn't play him if I was the coach. Missing one game won't hurt him and allows you to play the players that don't get the chance a lot which is good for the club

    Help is needed please

I'm trying to defend a 15pt gap over 3rd place in my main work ML (1st and 2nd gets the money)

    My team:
    Schmeichel - Krul
Ivanovic- Terry - Cresswell - Alderweireld - Ward
    Cazorla - Sanchez - Ozil - Albrighton - Cambiasso
    Kane - Agúero - Wickham

    3rd Place Team
    Pantilimon - Hamer
    Ivanovic - Hutton - Bellerin - Wilson - Schlupp
    Hendo - Coutinho - Hazard - Sanchez - Gomez
    Defoe - Wickham - Giroud

Can I afford to take out Cazorla & one other of Alderweireid/Cresswell/Kane/Wickham for - 4 or should I just do Cazorla > Silva to consolidate my lead

    Any ideas would be welcomed

don't take a hit, go 3-5-2 and bring in Silva for Cazorla. Keep Ozil for baps

    A) Hazard and Defoe to Yaya and Cisse for -4
    B) Ozil and Defoe to Montero and Lukaku for -4
    C) Defoe to Cisse for free
    D) Ozil/Hendo to Arnautovic/Adam for free.

      I support this,

although I dont mind the current system either. I dont look at bonus points as the "3 best players on the pitch points" more like extra points based on given stats. We know the stats behind it, we know that posession and passing counts for defenders ie, and we take that into account when choosing our players. If the stats behind it changes, I will adjust to that.

so I've seen team news, but does everyone really think that Wenger will start all of Ramsey, Sanchez and Giroud vs a stingy an 'on-form' WBA for a relatively meaningless match given the unlikelihood of United pipping them to 3rd?
