We continue our members articles looking back at last season with a review of West Brom’s displays under Tony Pulis. The Welshman took the helm after Alan Irvine was sacked – with the Baggies lying 16th in the Premier League on December 30 – and ultimately steered them to a 13th-placed finish, a full nine points clear of the drop zone. We’ll compare the attacking numbers from both managers’ spells in charge, and assess the similarities and differences in the statistics.

Irvine was a surprise appointment ahead of the 2014/15 season, having endured difficult spells in charge at Preston and Sheffield Wednesday. After managing a mere four wins from Albion’s first 19 matches, the Scot was relieved of his duties, with Pulis taking over on January 1, signing a two-and-a-half-year deal. Under the former Stoke and Crystal Palace boss, the Baggies secured seven victories from 18 matches, including wins against Man United and Chelsea in the final months of the season.

      I always think having a GK and a DEF from the same team is risky. It's either great or terrible. One goal can ruin it. Sell Cech for someone cheaper in my opinion. Pantilamon for example or Mignolet. Schmeichel is good too. Instead of benching him you could play him.
      S Taylor probably wont play.
      Otherwise. Looks interesting.

                Not at all, if anything I think it says more about Ighalo is that he can score multiple goals from open play where as Deeney may rely on PKs.

                I remember a couple years back he was loaned to Granada and he scored on Barcelona. Drove Pique nuts.

                Also he scored 4 in January vs Blackpool. Four!

                I don't care what league you are in, that is very difficult to do.

    My initial team is much better than this draft but getting Aguero for Watford game would require sacrificing Sterling (wat), Haz (cry) Walcott (new) in gw4.

    With this draft Ivan and Rooney are my banker and place holder for Kun (c) before wildcarding.

    I still think Rodgers will panic into playing Benteke for GW1.

    And Sakho/Lovren. Although Liverpool journalists said Sakho is first choice, it doesn't seem the case. Sakho left out. Lovren started nearly every pre season game. Lovren first choice is a ******* disaster.

      No to both GKs. De Gea might be transferring.

      Mangala - Some tricky fixtures at the start. Could get another 5.5 DEF instead that is likely to get goals and assists. I can't see Mangala getting much.
      Yoshida - Might not play with sotons new signing. Caulker.
      Targett - Probably wont play
      R. Bennett - Even more probable that he wont play

      Good midfield

      Jerome - 5.0 strikers are risky. I'd try to upgrade him.

        Smith is 4.0 Bournemouth defender, there as nothing more than a placeholder on the bench,
        Good point about Coquelin but I didn't really plan on playing him.

    Money ITB to upgrade Costa > Aguero, not entirely sure to keep Costa in there yet, I'll see what Mourinho says about him closer to deadline.
