    Hello deadzone.

Has there been any conclusive update on Sakho?

Am I the only one here who has Gradel? Gradel isn't really cheap at 6.0m but he seems to be the best 6.0m (Apart from Mahrez who nearly everyone has).

Can't say he's the best based on 1 match against a terrible West ham defense. Having said that, I've brought in Wilson so..

Only the brave will bet against Mahrez at this stage. Given his high ownership, I've decided to reduce the risk and bring him in for Shelvey this week with my FT.

Agree about Gradel, though. Potential is there.

Shelvey is another really good choice. Wish I could fit all three of those mentioned players in my midfield.

Agreed. Agonised over this decision. Just couldn't afford continuing to miss out with Mahrez and his current ownership levels.

I actually think we may end up a starting MID that consists of x2 10m+ & x2

I have had Mahrez since my GW1 wildcard as well. Wildcarding has worked nicely because I've moved to 2.7 million GW1 to 450,000 GW3 and my team is pretty good and isn't made up entirely of bandwagons.

Tough week for the bench choices. Great side for the upcoming GW.
Pity it's a WC side- great opportunity to use the Bench Boost chip with that squad this GW.

Consider playing a 4-4-2 with Cedric in place of Gomis?

If not, good to go as is.

Reminds me of Sterling in terms of gametime. It is as if Brenden will take a chance of at least 1 youngster in the side. It makes sense when the balance sheet value of a club goes up when young home players are in the 1st team. This year its Ebe and Gomez

Anybody thinking of forgoing both Haz and Sanchez in the short term?

Sanchez stats look good but it hasn't converted yet and Arsenal looked a right mess on Monday.

There is no guarantee that either will be up there in terms of points by the end of the season.

Problem is the ARS minefield. Apart from 2 blanks in 3 GW, when they register points and BPS they are shared among 7-8 regulars. If ARS scores 2 goals, you will risk Alexis being subbed out to rest.

Last year Sanchez scores his bursts when he played striker with Gru and half the midfielders injured.

Not sure all that is worth 11m. I have him but thinking of shipping for Ozil whose 8.5m needs only 5ppg.

    RMWC

    McCarthy Butland
    Azpi Shaw Kolarov Francis Catchcart
    Sanchez Maherz Pedro YYT Westwood

In this team which would you rather have:

    Or
    B) Gomez - Silva - Diouf

    Thoughts please.

At those 6+ prices it's ok to wait as these guys will continue to tick over.

I recall the mad Sanchez scramble at 11.2-11.4. Will he won't he start? Meanwhile prices rose and fell every other day.

Good point. But have you ever wondered why Hazard and Alexis take a while to get going FPL-wise? Teams ACTUALLY have a gameplan against certain opponents. Hazard and Alexis are both well known of being the most threatening in each's respective team.

Can you name a player other than Mahrez that can singlehandedly win Leicester City a match? No.
So teams will go into the game against Leicester with a mentality of, "if we shut down Mahrez, we'll win or at least not lose."

*Hazard and Alexis go off midseason when teams turn their attention to the inform player for Chelsea and Arsenal*

          1. Shifty
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 8 months ago

Hmm sorry but I don't get your point here - we're comparing Mahrez to Hazard & Sanchez now?

Don't think i mentioned in my reply that I would hop off Hazard/Sanchez when they run out of steam. We're talking about 2 very different set of players/prices here. There will be another mid price option further down the road and with the money banked in Mahrez, I don't foresee myself struggling with the decision whether or not to sell him if he runs dry.

            1. QGOONER
              • 8 Years
              8 years, 8 months ago

I completely agree with what you said. I guess I should have said "And have you ever wondered..." instead of "But have you ever...." And I never assumed that you would get rid of Alexis or Hazard like you RIGHTLY should with Mahrez.

I compared Mahrez to Hazard's and Alexis's current situation of always starting off slower than other players. Mahrez will struggle now that he's got the league's attention and teams will plan against him in hope of a win just like they are doing with Hazard and Alexis.

As a Wolves fan I'll say the positive and negative of getting Bakary Sako @5.5m
Positive: Cheap, very attacking, a match winner and fun to watch

Negatives: Lots of competition for place in midfield and might not be overly consistently so you need to be patient owning him.

Conclusion: He is worth investment so long as you don't mind so bench appearances and if you have a 5th midfielder like Shelvey who is more reliable.

The moment you have all been waiting for - FG's WC 😀

    Butland
    Kolarov, Dawson, Gomez
    Sanchez, Pedro, Yaya Toure, Mahrez
    Kun, Benteke, Wilson

    Kasper, Anya, Francis, Nyom 0.1m

    1. Shifty
      • 10 Years
      8 years, 8 months ago

I like that team tbh - Dawson will come good soon, WBA have a fantastic run of games.

With Kun and Benteke up top...I *might* consider downgrading Wilson (after you bank the 0.1m) to a fodder 3rd striker and upgrading Anya to go with a 3-5-2? If you do go with a 3-5-2, I would also reconsider Gomez in the team as you would need at least 3 super reliable options.

Hello DZ, would appreciate your advice on this joke of a team and the transfer options below

    Pantilimon
    Kolarov Koscielny Cédric
    Hazard Özil Mahrez Chadli
    Sakho Agüero Pellè

    Subs: Rudd Targett Huth Bentaleb

    A) Ozil + Sakho > Silva + Wilson (-4)
    B) Chadli + Sakho > Yaya + Wilson (-4)
    C) Ozil > Yaya free
    D) Sakho > Wilson free

Or of course, save - play Targett/Huth if Sakho and Kosc are out.

Would Watmore > Wilson be worth a hit

Can't call on your 5th MID or a defender from your bench?
      Also---Watmore??
If no to the above, I suggest you monitor prices so you get him in before he rises.

There is one thing that I don't understand for years.

Why do FFS opt to plan things based on 6 weeks?

Why not 4 or 8 Gameweeks?

    Can anyone enlighten me please?

8 is too much. It's more based on the next 4 with 2 thrown in.

Thanks TM. I think 8 is too much as well.

if you would get any chelsea players, rank them in priority:

    A. Hazard
    B. Pedro
    C. Costa
    D. Courtois
    E. any chelsea defender

Depends on who you have in your team. Costa for example would be the most important player to have if you didn't have Kun and trust his hammys. West Brom was a warning. Honestly wouldn't be surprised to see a hatty against Palace.

Twitter full of people who have played their triple captain chip on Aguero this week. I have him but I'd love him not to fire. I'm even tempted to captain Hazard or Silva instead. I doubt I'll have the balls in the end though.

It's ok, we'll catch up when the double game weeks are upon us, hopefully. I lost in ahead to head game last weekend to someone who triple captained YaYa. Annoying but in the long run I'm confident I'll finish ahead of him.

    Guys,

I'm torn and I need advice. Last week i sought no advice and decided to keep Rooney ahead of Costa in my WC team, obviously an error.
Now I want to get rid of Rooney so I'm thinking Rooney/Ayew for Diouf and Pedro. Only problem is this will mean a 8 point hit. This is the only combination I'm happy with as it means I get a Chelsea attacker and I don't currently have one and Diouf has good games coming up.

My question is is it worth the 8 point hit? All advice welcome.

Obviously I'll do it after tomorrow nights game in case Rooney bags 5 or something, if I do do it at all.
