The ScoutCast – Episode 166 – Patsy

It’s Jonty’s time to curry sympathy this week and he’s on the receiving end of a barrage of cyber-bullying from co-host Granville.

Determined to the belittle Jonty’s Wildcard performance following Callum Wilson’s hat-trick, Granville takes to Twitter before roasting him live on air on the ScoutCast. He seems to have totally missed the fact that I too sold on Wilson as part of my own Wildcard; I’m quite happy for Jonty to play Patsy on this one.

Jonty rolls with the virtual punches to join us as we look back on the Gameweek that saw all three of us refresh our squads. We score our Wildcards out of ten, before scanning the community for Gameweek tales in “Rough with the Smooth”.

We then take on your questions, as we assess Pedro’s pedigree, the lure of Aleks Kolarov and the merits of a well-rounded squad in the light of the FPL chips.

This ScoutCast was first broadcast live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday. Be sure to subscribe to our channel for news of upcoming live Casts. You can view the broadcast in full via the larger player below but, if you prefer the edited audio version, you’ll need this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone Following the Pressers? I have 2 worries in my team:

    Kosc
    Lens

both of them expected to start this GW?

didn't Wenger already say that Kos has more chance of starting than Mert?

I would've thought that Lens starts, he's been one of their only successes so far

Costa Still only owned by 12.7%...I am going with him as my Captain.

Who all are you guys selecting? Expecting many Aguero(c)

WBA and Southampton at home were the clean sheets.

Will be a bit tougher away to the etihad.

Plus WBA are not as good in attack and Sot couldnt score against FC Midtjyland and were without Mane

yeah but I watched one of their match..they looked pretty sound Defensively..They Will park the bus..So I expect Toure to do well this week as he is pretty good with Shots from outside the D...but then it's City..they can easily win 11-0 against Watford as well

So lets say thats the top 1m, 700,000 in the top 1m don't own him. Looks like I'll be climbing the ranks rather quickly, especially with the armband on him.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace will be Mourinho's 200th(overall) and 100th(home) BPL match.

Teams usually go for monumental wins in such matches, could be good for your Costa(C).

Would you,4 point hit, sell Payet for

    Silva

    Yeezy (Toure)

    Or keep

The way I see it if you take a hit the player subbed in has to outscore the outgoing by 6 points....can see Watford parking 2 buses

A Stoke DEF double-up with Butland & Muniesa at home to West Brom - good choice? Or, is it worth spreading the risk and playing Huth away at Bournemouth?

I've Schmeichel but I've decided to double up on the Stoke defence with Butland and Muniesa. Fancy Bournemouth to score. And West Brom, not so much. Even if they do, Butland will get his share of points for shots saved.

Holding tight and saving even though i really want Tekkers, Shaq, Cout. Too many uncertainties so assessing one more week.

    GtG lads?

    Butland
    Kolarov Gomez Richards
    Silva Sanchez(vc) Depay Mahrez
    Kun(c) Gomis Pelle

    McCarthy Westwood Francis Prodl

Is the plan. Is why i'm holding. Was considering Gomis + Depay -> Shaq + Tekkers for a hit but not doing it.

Also was considering Depay -> Cout for free. But saving.

Morning guys. Still contemplating whether to wildcard now or after this gameweek. I'm on -8 at the moment and here's my team after hits:

    Ruddy
    Mertesacker, Kolarov, Cedric
    Hazard, Silva, Mahrez, Chadli
    Pelle, Aguero, Diouf

subs: Rudd --- Huth, Bentaleb, Saylor --- 0.4 ITB

    A) Just take the -8
    B) Wildcard

He was on the bench last night so he must be able to play I guess. Didn't come on though and Koeman said he didn't want to risk him.

I think Liverpool will try their best to win the Europa League this year...it could be their ticket to Champions League next year...

So I expect a lot of rotation between players..

Heard from a colleague that John Stones was with Steven Naismith at a service station on Wednesday night.apparently he fled in tears after being abused by Everton fans.

Why can't fans appreciate that this is a person who has ambition? Enjoy the guy while he's there but understand if an opportunity comes along to play at a higher level he's entitled to want to take it.

John Stones has been forced to flee his home after being terrorised by furious Everton fans. (The Sun)

And it was fine for Everton to poach him from Barnsley! They need to get real I am afraid.

it's not like he's 'Everton till he dies' or anything, he's been there 2 years and played almost 50 games since he was poached from Barnsley. Simple case of the food chain in football

With Soton going out last night, the prospect of the Premier League losing its 4th UCL qualification spot moved a bit closer (Italy would gain a place).

yep, this has always been the danger with PL teams not taking the EL seriously. Same number of coefficient points on offer for EL as there are for the EL. Portugal, Italy, Spain etc have been racking up the points there
