The Dugout Discussion – Tottenham vs Everton

Having relinquished leads in their last two league ties, Tottenham Hotspur chase a morale-boosting victory over Everton on home turf in today’s tea-time encounter. The Toffees, meanwhile, were outclassed by a superior Manchester City side but will take heart from their dominance over Southampton in a 3-0 win on their first road trip.

Spurs rank sixth for shots inside the box (27) and big chances (six) this season but suffer from a poor shot conversion rate (7.3%). Of more concern to Mauricio Pochettino, his troops still haven’t discovered that optimum balance between attack and defence, given that they rank joint-fourth with regards to big chances conceded (six).

Despite netting five goals this term, Everton have chalked up just ten shots on target, so there’s certainly scope for the Merseysiders to improve on the attacking front. On the flipside, they’ve only conceded two big chances against Watford, Saints and Man City, which suggests Spurs’ forward line are in for a challenging contest.

        thanks, thinking this, but fixtures change a lot in gw 12 for the likes of everton etc... bournmouth fixtures tunr for the worse in gw 9. palace have good fixtures from 7...

      im in a similar position mate.

      I have the same Mids & forwards except ive got Ayew & Ritchie instead of Mahrez & Mane. Id probably take out ozil/mane for pedro/sterling

        ye its difficult one mate... i could change my team a lot, but i am not sure if i am kneejerking by changing my team now... all big teams are struggling and everything could change in couple of weeks as big teams have been under performing a lot. i like ozil, i think he will get the most points this season from the gunners after sanchez... wenger also likes him a lot and is nailed on, annoyed he got injured today as i reckon he could of split open toones defence...

    Why are our captains just not delivering? Why are home teams not performing? What is going on??

    Silva (5.4%), Kompany (4.2%), and Pedro (2.6%) are the only captaincy options from the top 13 picks that have delivered so far.

    ^ these percentages are of the overall captaincy distribution....

        I just can't get my (c) right. Benteke did the job in GW2 but apart from that Aguero has blanked twice and Sterling in GW1 was so unlucky

        Clean sheets are so volatile and I'm literally lost in what to do over the international break... can't see the point in wildcarding because I could get in form players and they might do nothing similarly to the players I have already. 😕

        Think a deep breath and a few beers watching MOTD later is order to clear the head (or push me towards insanity 😀 )

    The best part about Hazard/Sanchez and Aguero blanking is that there'll be loads selling.. Cant get better differentials in the game than those 3.. it literally takes a WC to get em all in.

    And yes.. i can see people getting rid of Aguero.. He is a god for many of us on here(me included) but for the general public he is a 13 million player who forced them into an early WC/poor captain points and 11 points in 4 games 🙂

    To all the people planning early tranfers/hits this GW. Remember the transfer deadline is up in less than 3 days, after that there's an international break (possible injuries).

    With no standout performers or serious injuries this GW, why take the risk?

    Only real transfer I need to do is sort my GK situation out. Currently have Pants and McCarhy. McCarthy good enough to throw in but maybe replaced but Pants has already lost me 0.1, been outscored by hoards of 'keepers, some even cheaper than him and Sunderland look dreadful.

    Was looking into either Myhll, who is cheaper or Romero who is slightly more expensive.

    However the latter maybe dislodged if de Gea doesn't leave afterall....

      im sure that in some alternate fpl universe kun scored 3 and assisted 2 today, wilson didn't score, chelsea beat palace and liverpool didn't concede 3.
