Just minutes after the final whistle blew on Gameweek 21, Jonty, Andy and myself braved the airwaves to pick the bones out of our meagre midweek tallies.

Brought back down to earth by a decidedly lacklustre floodlit affair, we rouse ourselves to debate the Aguero armband, the rapidly increasing speed of the Payet bandwagon and the theories behind the stuttering United backline.

We even make our dedication to the departed David Bowie, before quickly ushering out our disappointment of the Gameweek just past by previewing the one that lies ahead.

            It's what everyone keeps telling me and Doos even posted some stats to back it up, but I never, ever trust Arsenal vs Stoke, it's like Arsenal vs Birmingham, just a weird voodoo around the fixture.

            I'll no doubt get over myself and leave Arnie on the bench 🙂

                See, I'm contradicting myself..

                Ozil has only played 1 or two games AT Stoke if I recall correctly, and he got 2 assists last time he played there (could be wrong but I think so..)

                I see it potentially being something like 2-2. Arsenal are too good at attacking not to score but they're currently too bad at defending to keep Stoke out.. Ozil is more central to his team than Arnie, so that's why I'm on him at the moment, but Arnie is tempting... Wouldn't mind a Lukaku niggle..

    backline is pretty dire but i can't see anybody to bring in who particularly fills me with any greater confidence. tempted to jsut start Butland, Toby, Zouma adn Moreno this week and cross my fingers..

    Or take out Soaure for somebody like Daniels or Huth?

    I'm tempted to bring in Baines after this GW.

              I was going to recommend getting rid of Kane but I knew you wouldn't want to with his fixture this week, so if I were you, I'd do Butland -> Lloris and then next week you can use both transfers to (A) downgrade Kane and (B) upgrade a mid

            I have Daniels. I just checked. Daniels has had 10touches in the box over the last 6gameweeks and five attempts.
            Francis had one touch in the box and one attempt in that time span.
            I think it's therefor fair to say that his attacking potential is rather limited 🙂

            You're somewhere between 1-7points max.

            Also Francis had only one CS in the last 6 games.

            I'd bench and lose him.

      Kun(c) here. If Kane had been more consistent attacking form around the box or even inside it, I would (c) him over Kun due to Sunderland. But his goal-threat does not seem to justify captaining over Kun who has looked good and will have Silva behind and Navas doing the running on the right.(perfect combo for a Kunxplosion)

      Stoke very taff but if we are behind, we will throw a lot of bodies forward and will be fouled a lot. Ozil and his deliveries are a dream for Giroud and Kosc.

      Save for sure, give KDB one last chance. Ozil can't be sold and can't be benched. and Stanislas as a 5th midfielder is always a good choice regarding bench headache. G2G mate.

            I agree that Everton are a "better" defensive outfit with him in the side, but with Baines, Howard and Coleman all regressing this season, and with Martinez's weird fixation with playing Kone over Besic, they're still nowhere near solid enough for my liking.

            I'd put Jags in the same bracket as Williams, and I personally want neither.

              The problem we have is that there are no good defences this season, or reliable at least.

              City, United, WBA...blah blah blah all have a couple of good games and then turn rubbish. No long term picks whatsoever in reality this time around. Everton have good fixtures and Jagielka carries a very good threat on par with Toby and Dann at times...and he's 5.1.

              Three weeks ago you couldn't give a Leicester defender away other than the "cheap" Simpson...three CS in a row now....shows just how unpredictable defences are.

              Jags is a great pick for the money.

                I agree, there's a dearth of defenders this season, hence why I've just doubled up on Spurs and have 2 from Palace (weirdly). I might end up with Jags as he is a good option at that price, but I don't think he's a spectacular option, just probably better than the others around at the moment.

                Everton could be so much more solid though..

                I'm looking forward to Coquelin coming back for Arsenal! 😀
