So, as it transpires, my conversion to the “dullside” is almost complete. How else can I explain the fact that I appear to have formed a hive mind with Jonty.

Having recently caved in and recruited Sergio Aguero, this episode of the ScoutCast sees things take an even more alarming twist as I find myself replicating Jonty’s thinking – for so long the archetype of a dullard Fantasy Football manager.

Andy can only watch on, doing his best to quell my concerns as the three of us tackle another round of community queries. We talk around ways of breaking out of the template that constrains us, discuss the forthcoming fixture blanks, assess the prospect of doubling up on defences and even consider selling Aguero.

Jonty dismisses the idea and, true to form, I agree with him. How did it come to this?

      Toss up between Alli and Payet

      City play a high line, Spurs are fast and energetic + Payet played 120 minutes mid week, and looked leggy to me.

    Sanchez and Gestede to be assessed, Amavi and Kozak are out. Hutton back in training.

    One of those funny weeks where I have 2 frees and not too sure what to do with them...

    Mignolet, Courtois
    Azpi, Dawson, Reid, Francis, Morgan
    Payet, Barkley, Firmino, Mahrez, Stanislas
    Aguero, Kane, Lukaku

    Don't ask about the goalies, not quite sure how that happened!

    So Reid looks like he might be out, and Stanislas may or may not be getting starts post-injury. Don't really want to lose any of the blankers THIS week as they look good, would rather do Lukaku --> Vardy next week and bench the rest.

    Dawson possibly injured, but good fixture next week.

    Reid ---> ???? (0.1 in the bank) and save the other transfer?

      I might be wrong but Barkley, Lukaku and Firmino will have a blank GW after next week, so might be worth taking one of them out?

        My plan at the moment is to use one of my two frees, and save the other, so that I have 2 to cope with the blank.

        Will most likely do Lukaku --> Vardy next week, and bench Aguero/Barkley/Firmino.

        Or sell Firmino next week too.

        Good fixtures for the Merseyside teams this week, and there will be a double for them at some point so don't want to lose them all.

          It's a tough one, I have Aguero, Lukaku and Kane, there is no way I will sell Aguero, but I also don't really want to lose Lukaku, but also don't want to play a GW with only Kane.

            Depends on your midfield really... I remember the days when it was all about a big hitting midfield. With the likes of Payet, Mahrez, Alli all having good fixtures that week, Kane on his own up top wouldn't be a disaster. (If you have those or equivalent players!)

    This may be a silly question really, but does the opportunity to watch a game influence your captain decision?

    I'm considering captaining Lukaku, but will the three bumped games on Sky on Sunday I think I'd rather captain someone from one of those fixtures as I get to become depressed when I watch them hit the bar four times on live TV

      Well the day of the fixture influences my decision if I can't call it, suppose I don't really base captaincy on TV fixtures but I do prefer to watch games that I have players playing from.
