The Big Numbers – Midfielders – Last Four Gameweeks

Having assessed the defensive data over the last four rounds of fixtures earlier in the week, we now turn our attentions to the centre of the park. We analyse a host of playmakers from Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, West Ham and City before casting an eye over the recent new arrivals at Sunderland and Newcastle, as the Wear-Tyne duo step up their battle to beat the drop.

    http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/395031/UEFA-make-FA-pay-penalty-for-fixture-clashes

I thought FA Cup replays could clash with Champions League games (and Premier League games couldn't) until I saw this article.

Does this mean that there's no space in the calendar for 5th round replays before the FA Cup QFs, so they'd either cause Premier League blanks or play the replays on QF weekend?

Here's my spreadsheet showing the schedule for all the competitions: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zcb5jGdVitByKQ8R1X4gcEBpiNY9qbLylr72btlTubc/edit#gid=629680924

Fields on the PGA tour are starting to improve in quality now as we build up to the Masters, can't wait.
Part of the life plan is to go watch it at some point, any ideas how you go about getting tickets, is it like Wimbledon?

You can apply for them but they are very difficult to get but if you do get them unlike Wimbledon when you get in everything is as cheap as chips

            it's a good one though.

Always the same venue/same weekend of the year so very easy to get ready for it etc. Plus it lasts four days which is enough to be interesting to watch but doesn't drag on for months causing arguments about watching the tv with the wife.

I wasn't meaning the squad...I meant in terms of getting a replacement, even if short term.

LVG's time is all but over now and the only one who can't see it is him.

The difference is that Hiddink has been there before and he is only an interim boss until they appoint some one full time. If I was on the united board I would be trying to get a current north London PL manager

I think Maureen at United will be like car crash television - he would be taking over a squad that's in disarray. When he went back to Chelsea there was still a pretty strong squad in place. Far bigger challenge at United

Part of me wants DDG to be injured.

So it'll force me to ship him out.

origi seems a problem for firmino. even with sturridge fit firmino could have got to feed a great goalscorer for 70ish mins then got to play up front at the end of games where there are often cheap goals to be had. origi seems to be blocking that now

Getting scans on knee to assess the extent of the injury seemly. Hope he will, could really use that transfer somewhere else!

To be fair to Firmino owners, he has been the only player for whom being OoP has actually helped his FPL prospects. Well done to those that got him while he was playing false 9

Still fancy him vs City, seems to play well against the big boys. He could even be reinstated as a false 9, who knows

I think City will be cautious this time, and they have cup game with Liverpool just a few days before that game.

I would like to add that Coutinho at #10 would be more efficient, but Klopp sees Firmino as SS/ST

Hi....if Ddg is out for any period of time, who is the best replacement?

Have I missed the boat now for Forster?

    Or do I go schmeichal?

    Thanks

Butland in terms of fixtures IMO.

Forster, Butland, Schmeichel and Cech all seems good options atm.

The first 3 all have decent fixtures and a game in GW 30. Depends on if you believe Stoke will get back to being defensively sound (ShawX coming back soon), if Soton can keep it up (fixtures turning a bit hard after the next 4), Schmeichel really good fixtures, rested team and really something to play for.

Lastly Cech the expensive option with nice fixtures for the remainder of season. With only
One playing keeper he might be a good choice
