The ScoutCast – Episode 189 – Trapdoor

Have we fallen hook, line and sinker? After taking a beating by a cast of talent sacrificed in our Gameweek 33 Wildcards, it certainly feels we’ve obliviously wandered over a trapdoor and slammed back down to earth.

We’re back up to full strength in the ScoutCast as Jonty, Andy and Luke join me to compare the bruises inflicted by our Gameweek 33 refresh. We endevour to remain optimistic, clinging to the hope that the Gameweek 34 bench boost chip will deliver and help us balm the damage from a disastrous weekend.

Judging by the line of questioning from the community, we’re not the only ones smarting. The four of us pick through your bout of queries, before looking ahead the weekend and the Gameweek that could yet revive our seasons.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

There seems to be a bit of a weirdly accepted logic around here regarding hits. I see a lot of people discouraging moves because "you've already taken a 4/8 point hit".

Realistically we should all be analysing whether that individual move is likely to pay off irrespective of whether it's for no hit or a 12 point hit!

I have a potential 12 point hit coming up. Scary stuff! But if you break it down with logic one hit at a time it is probably worth it -

Daniels, Wolly, Lennon, Lukaku > Smalling, Otamendi, Milner, Mitrovic

I agree, I'm gonna be riding a good -12 hit tonight as well, but the benefits gained should outweight the cost.

Lukaku, Ozil, Mahrez, Williams, Daniels -> Martial, Sanchez, Firmino, Bellerin, Fosu-Mensah

It's best to go out with a bang than a whimper my friends

That's 12 point hit can very easily backfire. I'd just do the two defenders out for DGW defenders with your free transfers.

I can't say those were clearly good moves. But if you're chasing, and it's just a game afterall!

Members - the team with the highest cross completion rate over the last six game weeks plays the team with the highest crosses conceded from the left and the 4th highest on the right. Suggests a certain good pick who then has a plum second gw fixture to follow

If those crosses are being conceded by Leicester, I'm fairly sure that's almost a deliberate ploy, because Huth and Morgan can handle them.

Still, Andy is a different beast.
