The ScoutCast – Episode 192 – Swansong

There’s emotion in the air as we prepare to bid goodbye to another season in tonight’s ScoutCast.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we take the opportunity to look back on our campaigns, dwelling on our successes and regrets and recalling our favourite moments from a most testing Fantasy Football season.

We also take time to identify out lessons learned and appraise the Fantasy Premier League season, carrying out a “Chips Post Mortem”, whilst discussing the likely impact of next season’s Friday night kick-offs.

Finally, for one last time this term, we look forward to the weekend and attempt to identify the final day heroes who could yet make an impression on ranks and mini-leagues.

The ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

You can view the full Google Hangout version of this episode via the second player below or stream the edited audio from this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Leading my ML by 3pts only. We both have Sanchez + Aguero.

    Who would you captain:

    A) Sanchez
    B)Aguero

    Thanks! 🙂

It's Kun vs Swansea's second keeper making his debut with no Williams in front of him... and City need to win 😉

Valid point, although SWA played with no Williams against WHU away and still conceded just 1 goal.

it's 3 points btw..I think he better play it safe

I think one of the lessons I've learned this season is that Arsenal attack is never safe 😛 but yeah you'd expect them to comfortably beat Villa, and Sanchez is one of the top 3 prospects for points in the side. Tis logical and safe, but then again, his rival might go Kun.. who's also going for the golden boot..

              ....Just sayin 😀

I think a lot of people are justifiably put off City due to A) away day fear and B) Swansea beating West Ham... but I think there's a good chance City surprise us with a good win to send off Pelle.

ARS attack never safe but it's Sanchez - he rarely disappoint as a solid captain pick on any given GW. Really TCed him DGW34 instead of BBed that week. I blame the 'WC 33, BB 34' herd mentality of mine.

I also think City will do well against SWA but then is Aguero to be highly invloved? There's Kelechi to steal the show always.

In short I think both great picks, but imo Sanchez will outscore Kun

      Lukaku > Long, yes.

Mahrez > KDB, not so much.

I think Leicester are going out with a bang personally, and Chelsea will effectively roll over.

      No its madness.
Everton without the manager will play far more attacking. Like the shackels have been lifted.
4 point hit on lukaku is the worst move imaginable.
The KDB move is probably good but im guessing you need funds?

    Choose 1 :

    A) Carrol (Bench Defoe)
    B) Defoe (Bench Carroll)
    C) Long -4pts (Have Tadic & Bench Defoe )

    Hey guys, current team is

    Darlow
    Bellerin Gabriel Smalling
    Sanchez (c) Payet Townsend Coutinho
    Aguero Kane Defoe

    Hennessy Lanzini Moreno Cresswell

Already used my FT to do Sturridge > Kane

Would you take a 4 pt hit to remove Coutinho bearing in mind they have the Cup Final on Wednesday and if so who would you bring in?

My bench is currently PVA, Defoe & King.

Is it worth Defoe > Long (-4)?
So start Long and bench one of Carroll/Cresswell/Gabriel. Which also gives me more cover if there's any no shows.

2 for me. It's not even about the dejection. Any team would miss having Dembele and Alli at the same time. One of them missing is OK, but both missing together takes out a bit of momentum for me. Kane could still score, but doesn't feel like he will score a brace/hattie.

      1. Irish Madridista ⭐
        • 13 Years

Exactly my thoughts, Alli + Dembele are the driving connection between midfield and forwards, I'm not sure if Eriksen / Lamela / Chadli have that sort of drive to help Kane out and allow him to push further forward..

However if I play Darlow over Ruddy, I feel like a hit to swap Kane for Long/Iheanacho/Benteke/Giroud is almost a necessity 😛

“Mikel Arteta has been a great leader. All these players we have a decision to make. Do they continue as a player or become a coach.”
“Tomas Rosicky has been here for 10 years, Flamini has been a leader on and off the pitch."
"One or two of them could play on Sunday.”

Thinking of going with this line-up, do the subs look right?

    DDG/ (Migs)
    Bellerin/ PVA/ Smalling/ (Lovren)/(Creswell)
    Sanchez (c)/ Payet/ Hazard/ Tadic/ ( Lanzini
    Kun/ Defoe/ Deeney

    Cheers!

Defoe PVA not looking good. High chance of 1 point cameos I would rather play Cresswell & Lanzini.

Best keeper for GW 38? I have 3 Man utd so no DDG without a hit

Darlow and Robles. My weakest position is In goal this week, so thinking of playing my FT there

Darlow as good a chance of a cleanie as anyone I reckon.. Impossible to call CS's in GW38

                This ^

Expect the unexpected. Trying to pick out a CS other than Arsenal/United is folly. Just play Darlow or Robles and take an attacking punt with the FT

I'm leading my ML by 36 points, I've taken a hit now so won't take anymore but my rival has Aguero.

    Bench one:

    Ramsey
    Sanchez
    Mahrez
    Payet (Currently)
    Hazard
    Kane
    Long
    Carroll

Ramsey, then Carrol or Long. Wouldn't bench Payet.

Hey Cradders - similar to me, think I'm going to get Aguero in personally for Carroll just to cover that off.

Of that lot, I think it's between Carroll and Payet - I'd be tempted to bench Carroll because Payet will get you more points if he contributes, plus I imagine your ML rival will also have Payet so you might as well block that? Of course if he has Carroll then ignore me and do the opposite!

    Darlow
    Bellerin - Smalling - Cresswell
    Sanchez - Payet - Tadic - Hazard
    Defoe - Kane - Carroll

    Robles; PvA, Firmino, Lovren
    1FT + 1FT

Currently 33rd in the world for Quarter 4 of overall rankings, really want to push for that number 1 spot in the final GW. Thoughts on Firmino + Carroll > Mane + Giroud (-4) and benching Defoe? Any other suggestions?
