The ScoutCast – Episode 192 – Swansong

There’s emotion in the air as we prepare to bid goodbye to another season in tonight’s ScoutCast.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we take the opportunity to look back on our campaigns, dwelling on our successes and regrets and recalling our favourite moments from a most testing Fantasy Football season.

We also take time to identify out lessons learned and appraise the Fantasy Premier League season, carrying out a “Chips Post Mortem”, whilst discussing the likely impact of next season’s Friday night kick-offs.

Finally, for one last time this term, we look forward to the weekend and attempt to identify the final day heroes who could yet make an impression on ranks and mini-leagues.

The ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

You can view the full Google Hangout version of this episode via the second player below or stream the edited audio from this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Allardyce did say he'll play U-21s next GW. But for obvious reasons Defoe is looking for an Euro call-up. He probably should be immune to rotation.

Cheers for the link. If some senior players were to be kept in the team for GW38 you'd think Defoe would be top of the list.

I was getting ready to ship Defoe possibly for Deeney, but then I saw this. I think he'll play but not sure if he'd score.

Is Vardy going to score away to Chelsea? It's not the same as home to second string Everton defence

Just did Lanzini versus Tadic in the comparison tool. Wow.
    Long versus Defoe interesting too.

Yeah I may bench one of Defoe or Lanzini. My gut would suggest benching Lanzini.

I'm definitely playing Defoe, have a good feeling about him still. That leaves me with Lanzini playing OR take a hit for Milner > Tadic and bench him. Really not sure if it's worth the -4. I think there could be as much goal value in the WHU fixture as the SOU one

I see your conundrum. I could do something similar myself by doing Fabregas -> Tadic -4 and benching Lanzini. At this stage I'm leaning towards simply benching Fabregas and starting Lanzini and Defoe. In saying that Fabregas has better points potential than Milner as he'd probably at least start.

If I was in your shoes I'd start Lanzini and simply bench Milner and hope you don't need him.

Ranieri will put out his best available 11 and beat a woeful Chelsea handily. Hazard having a few good games recently because the Euros are imminent doesn't hide the fact that Chelsea have been awful. A team of hungry footballers away to a group of overpaid individuals, most with atitude problems.

I have to agree. I think Leicester are keen to prove a point about finishing as champions with momentum going into next season. Now is not the time to show weakness.

      1. GreennRed

And Ranieri will be very keen to show the Chelsea board how well he has done. Not so much the fans as he was well liked by a lot of Chelsea fans.

      • 9 Years

Ranieri will certainly play his best team but the overpaid individuals have shown they can make a point when they want to as a collective, i.e versus Spurs. I think they may be up for the same kind of point proving on Sunday.

Current situation in my ML, who wins?

    ME:

    unique players who start:
    Darlow
    Gabriel, PVA
    Tadic, Fabregas
    Giroud, Aguero
    +14 points

Other guy's unique players predicted to start:

    Migs
    Bellerin, Morgan
    Hazard, Mahrez
    Lukaku, Sturridge

In a fascinating scenario of having to sell an expensive striker for almost anyone.

    Sturridge -> ?

    A) Long (cpl)
    B) Martial (BOU)
    C) Vardy (che)

Having assessed the stats I have come to the conclusion that there is very little in it. Going to have to be a gut call really, any ideas on which way to go?

      a) not playing for much but probably against a weak side resting up for their FA Cup loss

      b) playing for Champion's League hopes against a team with nothing to go for

      c) playing for the golden boot with a temperamental hamstring (flagged in FPL)... but golden boot is the last thing Leicester have left to win so I see them going for it.

      C

Bringing in KDB & Aguero for the Champion's League battle...

    Darlow (robles)
    Bellerin Smalling PVA (Cresswell, Martin)
    Sanchez KDB Hazard Payet (Antonio)
    Aguero Defoe Naismith

(Naismith in his first match back at Everton is obviously a wild punt)

All good? PVA a rest risk and should start Cresswell instead?

Here is hard one.. I lost the money league, the cap is now 86p (he is OR 186 and im 5k). Trying to secure second place.
I got 22p lead for the 3rd player.
    My:
De gea (Mannone) (2 FT, 0 ITB)
    Cresswell, Cathcart, Smalling (Moreno, Kaboul)
    Payet, Hazard, Sanchez, Fabregas (Milner)
    Martial, Carroll, Sturridge

    Rival:
Robles (Darlow) (1 FT, 0 ITB)
    Monreal, Gabriel, Reid (Kone, PVA)
    Coutinho, Noble, Payet, Sanchez (Willian!)
    Sturridge, Aguero, Costa!

Aguero essential here? I wanna get rid of the Fab and sturridge for Tadic and Aguero, but i need to take hit to free up funds..
He has Costa injured so he has to transfer costa out for ?
    Gabriel nailed? Whats about pelle?

Fab, Sturridge & Cresswell -> Aguero, Tadic, 4.2m woth a hit?
Any ideas? i appreciate all help, thanks!

You wanna take a hit to make your team more like his whilst chasing a 22p lead?

Unfortunately the best way to catch him is to hope and pray aguero doesn't do well - which could happen. He also has to take out coutinho I think

        hmm...
one option could be Cresswell & fab -> Bellerin, Tadic (no hits)

Oh I didn't see that.. Your defence is a problem. He has sturridge, cout, costa out. Erm I think I'd get kane/lukaku and vardy for carroll and sturridge. Or I'd get kane/lukaku +eriksen for sturridge and fabs

    Hi FFS! Last call 🙂

    Who to bench?

    Darlow (Robles)
    Bellerin Smalling Cresswell (PVA Simpson)
Sanchez (c) Hazard Payet Tadic _____
    Aguero Kane ____

Should I bench Iwobi (AVL) or Carroll (stk)?
    Currently on Carroll...

    Thanks in advance

    A) Iwobi+VVD
    B) Deeney+PvA
    C) Long+PvA
    D) Long+VVD -4
    E) Deeney+VVD -4

    Thanks in advance

Best option for this midfield if ozil is ruled out? Thinking ozil and firmino > kdb and tadic for a hit.

    ozil sanchez payet fabregas firmino
    kun carroll deeney

    1. Winston.

    First draft for the euros...official game;

    Hart
    Boateng Kosc Varane Smalling
    KDB Fabregas Alli
    Muller Griezmann Milik

    bench:Juanfran Sanches Denisov

Any comments? This is for groupstages, so for the first three games...after which you have a 'wildcard' to use as far as I have understood the rules..

    Thanks.

If West Ham win by 15 goals; and Man City loses; and Man Utd draws or loses; then West Ham would qualify for Champion's League.

    Payet captain 😎 ?
