The ScoutCast – Episode 192 – Swansong

There’s emotion in the air as we prepare to bid goodbye to another season in tonight’s ScoutCast.

I’m joined by Jonty, Andy and Luke as we take the opportunity to look back on our campaigns, dwelling on our successes and regrets and recalling our favourite moments from a most testing Fantasy Football season.

We also take time to identify out lessons learned and appraise the Fantasy Premier League season, carrying out a “Chips Post Mortem”, whilst discussing the likely impact of next season’s Friday night kick-offs.

Finally, for one last time this term, we look forward to the weekend and attempt to identify the final day heroes who could yet make an impression on ranks and mini-leagues.

The ScoutCast is first aired live on our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get a heads up on future broadcasts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Trying to avoid a hit. Leading Mini-League by 19 points. Should I

    A) Lanzini > Tadic and play 3.5.2 benching Carroll
    B) Carroll to Martial as a ML blocking move

    B) Hazard & Lukaku to Tadic & Aguero
    C) Lukaku to Giroud
    D) Coutinho to Tadic

    A & B are for -4
I am leading by 16pts, both rivals have Kun

Down 1 in my small league, first place team will likely go Cech, Sagna, Bellerin, Dier with Sanchez, Antonio, Payet, and Lamela in the mf and Aguero, Rashford and Kane up top - likely will pick Aguero capt. He will likely make no transfers.

We have de Gea, Valencia, Monreal, Azipicueta, Yedlin, and Cresswell with a midfield of Sanchez, Hazard, Lingard, Payet and Firmino and up top Sturridge, Defoe and Carroll AND we have triple captain left.

    What would you guys do????

    1. Larry Legend
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 11 months ago

Sanchez TC, Sturridge > Giroud. Firmino > Mane/Tadic if you want to risk a -4, I probably wouldn't.

As Larry said. Both Liverpool players aren't playing.
Get Kun in for Sturridge and cheap bench midfielder for firmino.
But TC Kun. That will cover him and make up the minus 4

      1. The Hitman
        • 7 Years

Thanks guys - that is what I was thinking - Aguero for Sturridge and drop Firmino for Davis or Iwobi or even Mason maybe and TC Aguero.....Just getting Giroud for Sturridge was our other thought - Swansea has been very good at home and are three on the trot I think but might rest Williams and Fabianski is out.

Carroll let down all the TCs, but not sure why everyone is now taking hits to remove for one game. He is still the main striker in a good attack.

In their last 7 games, Crystal Palace have conceded a total of 6 goals at an average of 0.85 goals a game.

In their last 7 games, Aston Villa have conceded 15 goals at an average of 2.1 goals a game.

But we are expecting mass rotation from Palace against a bang in form Saints, I think thats the fascination with Mane/Tadic/Long.

Not sure how relevant the Palace stats are, to be honest. There will be a few reserves playing, and those who aren't reserves will be desperately trying not to get injured.

Players playing for their place in the FA cup final is huge motivation. Also a lot of rotation happened in the last 7 games due to semis.

I don't buy that, Pardew is pretty sure of his cup final XI, I'd say - but he will send the stiffs out telling them they have a chance. There was only really rotation for the Man Utd game - and I would expect the same on Sunday.

Chasing about 5 points to get in top 50 but any drop of more than 11 points would push me out of top 100. My problem is i dont have highly owned sanchez, so him performing well would be problem. Current team is
    Darlow
    Bellerin smalling simpson
    Mahrez kdb haz payet
    Defoe kane kun
(Robles delaney cresswell lanzini). Thinking of
A delaney to gabriel and play him instead simpson
B kdb cresswell to sanchez gabriel. For -4

Gotta be Kane +4 (assuming that all other options are for a hit). Even without Dembele, Spurs are playing against a relegated Newcastle with very poor defenders (albeit Rafa has improved their organisation), and Kane will want to get the golden boot. Not guaranteed, but % wise that has to be the best option especially already being 4 points up.

I'd definately keep Lukaku - Martinez gone and Norwich defence concedes plenty (Bassong!!!)

    AOA this week:

    De Gea (Darlow)
Bellerin - Gabriel (Fuchs - PVA - Martin)
    Sanchez - Hazard - Firmino - Payet - Mahrez
    Aguero - Martial - Carroll

    1FT, 0.0 in bank

Chasing 34 points in ML... What to do with my free?

Morning guys, what would you do with this lot? ML's already lost/won.

    DDG
    PVA, Smalling, Bellerin
    Payet, Coutinho, Sanchez, Hazard
    Aguero, Carroll, Defoe

    Subs: Darlow --- Lanzini, Simpson , Delaney --- 1FT, 1.0 itb

    A) Coutinho -> Tadic
    B) Carroll & Coutinho -> Giroud and Tadic (-4)
    C) Something funny, what?

JWP hardly on the pitch nowadays so should be Tadic.

Should be, yea. I might ship Firmino for him and even go -4 for Long/Donkey

With Martinez out, any chance of Robles starting? Or the bed is made and laid?
    Other keeper is Darlow. 🙁

Perfect scenario would be Robles starts gets subbed with a CS, then Howard comes on to great applause for last 10 minutes. 😆

      I think Howard starts 99.9%

I'm starting Robles - Darlow will auto sub anyway if he doesn't play. There's no risk.

An injury to Howard in the second half and you are crying. 😉
