Paddy Says….Gameweek 6

The wise counsel of Paddy Power is back to guide us to learned teamsheet decisions with a hearty slice of anytime scorer and clean sheet odds thrown in.

And there’s more than a few tempting deals for new customers on offer this week from Paddy, although not quite as tasty as the one Paul Hollywood’s squeezed out of Channel 4.

Leicester might only have one away win to their name this season – the movie reference that is in Bruges – but the 16-1 on offer for them to beat United could make you a killing. You can also get 5-1 on the United win.

There’s also 16-1 available for a treble on Spurs, Everton and Liverpool all to win – generous indeed for a trio in such prime form.

If you’re intent on watching this evening’s kick-off, wincing with every Diego Costa challenge, you can spice things up further with odds of 8/1 on an Arsenal win or 10/1 on a triumph for Antonio Conte’s men.

Five league matches, five wins – no-one’s in better form than Man City, so 5-1 on them beating Swansea looks more than doable, while Southampton at West Ham could go either way, but 8-1 for the Saints to march away with a victory is well worth a look.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

And so on to the meat in your Paddy pie.

He’s back and his odds are as short as his legs. Yep, Sergio Aguero (1.53) returns from his three-match ban primed and ready to add to his three league goals for the season and maybe cost Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin his job while he’s about it.

If you fancy your legs longer (and ego bigger), Zlatan (1.90) will be looking to punish a Leicester defence that’s coughed up five goals in two away matches so far. Marcus Rashford (2.80) is a longer shot but he’s on it – a goal in his first league start last time out and another in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Romelu Lukaku (2.25) also has form on his side, and Bournemouth in his sights. The big Belgian has four goals in two matches which, coincidentally, is the same amount (from the same matches) that the Cherries have shipped at home.

And never discount Diego Costa (2.50) against Arsenal. He might be about as welcome at the Emirates as a Fancy Bear at an NHS data protection meeting, but he’s got five in five in the league and after getting most of the Gunners sent off last season, fate almost demands that he’ll do more damage this afternoon.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 6

TeamOdds
Liverpool1.72

Manchester United2.29
Tottenham2.50
Stoke2.70
Everton2.70
Watford2.87
Crystal Palace3.10
Burnley3.10
Sunderland3.20

Clean sheets have been a bit of a rarity this season and the odds reflect it.

Man City (2.10) have managed just the one so far, in last week’s mauling of Bournemouth, but Swansea are averaging less than a goal a game and have already drawn two blanks, one of which was at home.

United have two shut-outs to their name but have conceded five in their last two matches, so 2.29 looks a bit meagre for visit of Leicester. The Foxes might have failed to win on the road in the league, but they’ve not failed to score in either defeat.

Everton (2.70) have won three in a row, and two of them involved clean sheets, so they look a more attractive proposition, particularly against a Bournemouth outfit with just three goals to their name.

And Burnley have kept things tight at home – one clean sheet and just two goals conceded in three matches – so their 3.10 price is tempting. If they can stop the ten-goal Watford juggernaut, that is.

Johnson - Lovren - Evans - Robertson - Holebas. Cheap as chips (23.2m), some worthwhile attacking threat and a good 3/5 rotation.

Yeah. I think it is because he's been out of team for injury (the broken hand) but returned in the Cup match and reportedly (haven't seen either match or stats) was good. Something we can't say about Migs in PL.

Not sure what to do with Sanchez/Dembele/Nacho!
Got Capoue, Antonio, Sterling, Ibra, Lukaku... 0 ITB

            A) Start Sanchez, transfer Dembele, bench Nacho
            For Dembele (ITB=5.5): Puncheon/Wanyama/Zaha/Drinkwater/Fernandinho

            B) Start Sanchez, bench Dembele, transfer Nacho

            For Sanchez (ITB=5): Wanyama/Fletcher/Barry
            For Nacho: Kun

Bench Redmond tbh, he's like the poor version of Raheem sterling that's off form. Might sneak an assist, or a lucky goal but won't get a haul. Capoue looks dangerous with those late runs, stats don't show just how close he is to getting on the end of those crosses or passes

Great points. Finding it hard to ignore the fact that WHU have conceded 13 and Burnley only 8. Adrian is having a shocker and a goalie bereft of confidence is likely to ship more. Will probably be a last minute decision. Might have to toss a coin...

                  Found this from Daily Fail:

"Karius missed the start of the season after breaking his hand and he needed two operations to rectify the issue; during his absence Mignolet did little wrong and he will have been left crestfallen by Klopp's decision [to start Karius]."

Well, he did little right either. That 56% save rate is nothing to be proud of.

                  A) Baines - Lovren
                  B) Williams - Vertonghen

How come everyone is going for Mane or Firmino for Liverpool?

Lallana is much cheaper and has accumulated more points.

Less potential, doesn't consistently score or assist as much

Underlying stats suggest Firmino is the best pick, but it seems that all three will continue to share the points at the moment.

Might be unsustainable and also the former two both missed matches

Seems a bit of a lotto to me - points could go anywhere

Lallana is a good pick, no doubt about it. Klopp plays him regularly and he done it consistently at Southampton. If funds are tight no reason not to go with him over the others

I am on my WC and had option A originally but am now considering B. Any thoughts?

A - KDB, Sterling & Lallana (next week KDB > Sanchez)
                        B - Sterling, Mane & Firmino

It's a lottery -- everyone agrees you need a Liv mid but no one has a scooby which -- it's just who's hyped this week (Coutinho's in the conversation too)

                    B) Deeney
