A tale of two halves and two Belgians. Romelu Lukaku added to his goalscoring repertoire, conjuring an unfamiliar strike, only to see it wiped out by his compatriot Christian Benteke, doing what he does best. Here’s the Stock Check from Friday’s Gameweek 7 opener.

Lukaku seems capable of scoring any type of goal.

Everton’s Belgian took his tally to five goals in just five starts with a beautifully executed left-footed free-kick.

Kevin De Bruyne provided the assist – his recent strike for Manchester City under the Bournemouth wall, seemingly convincing the Crystal Palace defence to keep their feet on the ground, only to watch Lukaku’s effort sail over their heads and into the corner.

Now in the pecking order from dead-balls, should Lukaku also be confirmed as Everton’s designated penalty taker, he will be cleared to challenge for 25 goals and the Golden Boot.

The goal, coupled with two bonus points took Lukaku to the top of the Fantasy Premier League forward rankings. That could now lead to another surge in ownership over the international break – a trend that would be accelerated should Zlatan Ibrahimovic fail to figure amongst the points at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Christian Benteke
Right now, Crystal Palace’s Belgian is only scoring one type of goal, although Alan Pardew and Benteke’s Fantasy owners won’t be complaining.

Five starts, three goals and three typically impressive headers – the 6% owned Benteke furthered his case to claim our third striker spot with his Goodison Park display.

Palace have not taken long to hone their supply to feed their new striker and, with a constant stream of crosses flighted in his direction, Benteke looks set to thrive.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Decided....A bit of a leap of faith but it'll be Shaqiri....

    I set this table to show the last two matches played as he's only played twice so far but it gives a small snapshot compared to Snodders....
    Plus he's on corners and free kicks....he just needs Arnie or Bony to actually help with some goals....pffft....

      On my radar too especially with the 5 fixtures after Manure. Only problem is happy with mid except Antonio if he blanks. If Lallana goes well again would have exact money to get him for Antonio

                  It's on FPL so I don't add teams. The removing is what I do and checking new entries and remove the ones who don't qualify.

        He could of had more points (Assist/Goal) brace isn't far away. Yellow card was the only reason he was out of the baps.

              Walcott is just an example.

              Lallana, Son, Cazorla, Mata, Antonio, Snodgrass etc. all cheaper and have involvement in goals. Also they play for more attacking teams (excluding snodgrass maybe)

            I got Smith this week for one of my other defenders. My defensive rotation can carry me through at a push for the next few weeks pretty well.

          That seems the easy option currently. Don't have much faith in Pickford so getting a partner for him should be worthwhile long term.

            Somehow I don't see myself getting Lallana. I had him at times for great success at S'ton but don't trust at Pool for some reason.

              Check the underlying stats though.

              He's shooting as often as Firmino/Mane in the box, more so than Coutinho. He doesn't take a lot of touches in the box compared to Firmino but having actually watched the games Firmino takes touches to create space that Lallana is then stepping into.

              He's got 38% involvement for Liverpool, more than any other player. They also have a great run and he's fantastically price.

              Take another look at him.

          Jaku, Antonio maybe and Baines/Walker maybe. Arsenal defender would be great so a bit of a downgrade to Snoddy or similar and a GK upgrade soon.

            I think I could justify that hit yes. I suspect there is no real need to ditch Antonio though other than to release funds. Hull do have great fixtures coming and I suspect Snoddy will be part of my plans next week

                  The thing is my defence is really cheap and nasty (Foster - Jak, Friend - Smith - Evans Pieters - Amat). But my team is doing OK at the moment which does make me hesitate but teams will start getting clean sheets at some time and I think Arsenal will be the best ones to have.

                  I doubt Burnley will score. I just hope some of these weaker sides I have in my defence can keep clean sheets too. They have the fixtures for it this week imo

        Downgrade Capoue to Fletcher and Upgrade Jaku. The rest of the team is solid and even though Walker has poor fixtures I think he can give decent attacking returns for the meantime.

          He's more of a blocker in case he keeps up his pace. Didn't kill him on WC so hurts to do it now. Will see how the games and break goes to see if the attack can suffice.

            Fletcher will average near to 3 points per game. Capoue won't beat that by much from here on in and mostly any points he gets will be benched anyway. 😕

                Yep, that's valid (the 3-5-2 idea). But do you really want to downgrade Deeney with Watford's upcoming fixtures?
                Plus that's much more major surgery involving 3 or 4 transfers really.

                You have a natural switch from Deeney to Austin in GW11. I'd keep it simple and stick with the structure you have.

      I probably don't need to wildcard this team they are pushing along quite nicely but I find myself wanting to bring in some more Arsenal and at least improve the defence a little, get rid of a couple of weak players. If Ibrahimovic blanks this would be amended to probably ditch him rather than Lukaku then some more could go into defence
