The ScoutCast – Episode 201 – Penalty

The cruel mistress that is Fantasy Premier League.

Jonty has fallen a victim, paying the penalty for a few ill-judged decisions, compounded by a huge slice of bad luck as both Christian Benteke and his captain Sergio Aguero missed penalties in a single Gameweek.

He just can’t buy a break right now, which makes it all the more impressive that Jonty should brave another ScoutCast and risk a bruising hour in my company, along with Andy and Granville.

We make sure we conduct a full post-mortem on Jonty’s miserable plight, before delving into similar tales from the community in “Rough with the Smooth”.

Then it’s on to your questions as we consign Hull City to whipping boy status, pry into Pep’s potentially failing relationship with Aguero and dare to cast doubt on the Joe Allen bandwagon.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re nostalgic for the old formats, you can acquire the traditional mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or watch me get riled via the Google Hangout version in the second player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

What to do . 2FT. 2.5 to spend

    Pickford
    Koscielny / Lovren / Walker
    Coutinho / Sanchez / Antonio / Capoue
    Aguero / Deeney / Lukaku

Bench: Jaku, Amat , Kelly , Barry

Want Walcott in for Capoue but 0.8 short

Capoue to Fletcher in order to afford one of these:

    A) Walker to Bellerin
    B) Jaku to Heaton (have Pickford)
    C) Evans to Lovren

    Which one would you prefer?

      From last page:

Identity of paragraph 2's "Blues insiders" who know so little the journo had to write "There is BELIEVED to be tension between the pair and fan hero Aguero" [sic]

      A) 2 random posters off a Man City fan site
      B) 2 other journos in the press box who made it up
      C) 2 figments of the journo's imagination

There is nothing here that we couldn't have written.

    What to do?

    Pickford Grant
    Walker Coleman Smith Holebas Amat
    Sanchez Sterling Firmino Antonio Capoue
    Aguero Lukaku Deeney

    FT: 1, ITB: 0.3

    Capoue -> Allen?
    What about Antonio?

I know it's popular on here but I hate that move. I'd much prefer to upgrade Antonio and downgrade Coleman next week with 2 FT's.

fair enough, but no chance Allen outscores Arnaut over the next 5-6GWs of good fixtures!

I don't believe Arnie outscores Allen by enough to justify 2.4 difference, 2.4 is enough for people to consider ditching Aguero for KDB

The Allen bandwagon is in full swing too so his price is only going to go up for a few weeks. Now that Allen is one of the highest scoring players this season he becomes a big attraction to the casuals who see him on the first page and his low price and jump on it

Need some help here from you experts out there…

    Have 2FT and 0 ITB

    Pickford/Foster
    Blind/Holebas/Stones/Friend/Amat
    Sanchez/Sterling/Lallana/Antonio/Barry
    Aguero/Lukaku/Deeney

    A - Stones > Pieters, Antonio > Siggy
    B - Barry > 4.3, Antonio > Siggy
    C - Stones > Pieters and save 1 FT
    D - Barry > 4.3 and save 1 FT
    E - Do nothing

Having a major headache here and hope can get some input. Thanks!!

Nothing too pressing here to change.

I'd keep stones as Cit have some nice fixtures coming up. I would maybe consider shifting Antonio but after the Sunderland game? Unless you are a punty kind of manager 😉

"Light movements, but we're encouraged that the issue has been addressed. He had a procedure which has loosened ligaments in the ankle, which were a bit sticky for want of a better word. We're hopeful we can keep him on the grass. Hopefully we can get through this period and he can progress very quickly. It's difficult for him. He's a big personality but he's very focused. The injury before Day One was very hard to take not just for Jack but for everyone. But he shrugged his shoulders and got on with it and hopefully now he can see the return date coming up shortly."

Think I am pretty set for this week.

    Pickford
    Koscielny - Holebas - Lovren
    Capoue - Lallana - Sanchez - Sterling - Walcott (C)
    Lukaku - Aguero

Bench: Jak || Rashford, Williams, Amat

Any suggestions or good to go? Switching between Walcott and Sanchez for Captain every 15 minutes..

Sanchez is the better captain option by some distance, he has similar goal threat but Sanchez is way more creative and can get the 3 bonus whereas Walcott gets less bonus 'cause he does a lot less on the pitch in addition to scoring goals....

Armband on Sanchez then! Hopefully your words will be the glue and pay off 🙂 Thanks!

I would play Rashford ahead of Capoue. I reckon rashford is a big game player. Otherwise sanchez or sterling captain is a coin toss really.

No guarantee Mannone goes straight back in

Comforting words, however its not easy to find out with Jaku as the other keeper...

    Who to captain?

    A) Agüero
    B) Walcott
    C) Payet

I would usually put the armband on Agüero without a second thought but I'm concerned he might not start this weekend...

I'd much prefer having him playing RWB that take a hit to get him out for a home to SUN fix!
