Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Arsenal vs Bournemouth

After Stoke’s narrow win at Vicarage Road, we now make our way to the Emirates as Arsenal entertain Bournemouth at 2.15pm.

Having led the line against PSG in midweek, Olivier Giroud drops back to the bench, despite netting five times in his last five appearances across all competitions.

Alexis Sanchez is stationed up front, then, with his 22% FPL owners looking for an improvement on the form that has seen him score in just one of the previous six Gameweeks.

Certainly, we need the Chilean to step up in a weekend where Liverpool pair Philipp Coutinho and Roberto Firmino, along with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard, failed to deliver the goods.

Utilised off the bench against PSG, Theo Walcott returns to the starting XI, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also finding a place in the hosts line-up.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Why did Granvile buy Jenkinson when he could've just played McAuley? That was stupid, yet he still benefits from that stupid decision. Auto subs should be scrapped.

If auto subs weren't a factor then people would play differently. He can make this decision with auto subs in mind as that's how it works.

I think that's The Whole point of playing Sanchez upfront .
In football manager terms , you would call his role as an advanced forward , somebody who the team revolves around, expected to score and create with equal importance e
Giroud is a target man or a poacher at best and has no where near the same agility , stamina , acceleration, workrate, determination, vision . On top of that Sanchez is equally as good as Giroud off the ball, like the header Vs Sunderland against Kone.
This guy is too important to be sacrificed at the expense of Giroud , just brings so much more upfront overall.
Has to pay off over the season as he gets better used to the role too.

    Heaton/Foster
    Pieters/Cedric/McAuley/Mustafi/Amat Coutinho/Firmino/Hazard/Redmond/Allen
    Aguero/Lukaku/Defoe

    2 FTs 1.2 ITB
