The Weekend Team News

Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey are back in contention for Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool. West Brom wide man Matt Phillips remains doubtful for the visit of Crystal Palace, though Andy Carroll is expected to be fit as West Ham go head-to-head with Chelsea.

Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny are both available for Arsenal’s trip to Liverpool, though Mohamed Elneny has been ruled out for three weeks with an ankle complaint. Arsene Wenger has suggested that Mesut Ozil “should be okay” after being sent home from training due to illness on Wednesday.

Andy Carroll is back in training ahead of West Ham’s match with Chelsea on Monday, with Slaven Bilic “very optimistic” on the target man’s availability. Michail Antonio serves a one-match ban after being dismissed away to Watford last time out.

Simon Francis has failed to recover from a hamstring complaint in time for Bournemouth’s trip to Man United, though there’s better news in attack for the Cherries, with Jordon Ibe passed fit.

Tony Pulis conceded that West Brom are “still waiting” on the fitness of Matt Phillips, though the winger is expected to return to training today. Craig Dawson is available after being forced off with a head knock last weekend.

Lazar Markovic is expected to be fit for Hull’s trip to Leicester City, though fellow new arrival Evandro remains sidelined. Dieumerci Mbokani is out for six weeks with a hamstring complaint sustained against Burnley last week, though Marco Silva reckons that Harry Maguire “should be okay” after sustaining a knee problem in the Clarets’ encounter.

Mauro Zarate is ruled out for the rest of the season with the knee injury that forced him off against West Ham last weekend. Costel Pantilimon and Daryl Janmaat are set to be assessed, though Nordin Amrabat, Christian Kabasele and Ben Watson are sidelined through injury.

Xherdan Shaqiri remains a big doubt for Stoke’s double Gameweek, with Mark Hughes admitting that the Swiss international is more likely to be available next week. Jon Walters is back in contention ahead of clashes with Middlesbrough and Man City.

George Friend and Antonio Barragan are both back in training and expected to be available for ‘Boro’s trip to the bet365 but Calum Chambers remains ruled out.

Jefferson Montero has returned to training but remains sidelined along with Ki Sung-Yeung for Swansea’s clash with Burnley. Johan Berg Gudmundsson and Steven Defour are still unavailable for the Clarets, though the latter is now back in training. Ashley Barnes serves a one-match suspension but Jeff Hendrick returns from a three-match suspension.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

        Sane is the obvious choice for many but Silva would definitely have more game time as he got the rest in the cup, and the stats are impressive.
        I could also go with someone like Coutinho (Don't own any pool player), King, Snodgrass, etc

          I love Silva as a player, and in his first few seasons in the PL he was an decent pick as well; he will invariably have good stats but doesn't deliver enough, especially when Sane (who is delivering) is considerably cheaper.

    A hit for stones is far better than this Allen bandwagon, what are we even expecting him to get ? and people are removing players with fixtures in 28 to get him. It's a madhouse on here today.

            Boro are quite tight at the back , and I can't see him getting anything against City. As you said it could go either way, but the way people are talking is like he can get an easy double figure.

          Baines is on pens - it's not even a question tbh. Lukaku's pens are very dodgy, whereas Baines is one of the best pen takers of the Premier League era.

          Koeman has alot more sense than Martinez, who I think was just trying to wind up all us Everton fans.

            Ah ok, but effectively this transfer in isolation is worth -4 🙂

            If the rest of your defence is pretty strong, Stones would be ok as he is benchable for the harder games. If not, may be worth holding off - Robertson and De Roon playing for one week wouldn't be the end of the world. I'd expect one of Lovren and Phillips to play anyway (I hope so anyway, as I have both of them too 🙂 )

          Sterling points this season - 116. Eriksen - 142. Spurs fixtures after this week are much better. Sterling might outscore him this week, but he wont across a longer period. Unless you want Sterling for the rest of the season, you'll also take another 4 point hit removing him

          I've gone a little back and forth with this one. I think the rotation fears, pronounced in view of upcoming FA Cup and UCL games, make it a no. Sanchez, with the extra mid goals and clean sheet points and no rotation risk, looks safer.
          And Sanchez is comfortably outscoring everyone this season.

        Play two:

        A) Robertson (hul)
        B) Nyom
        C) Coleman
        D) Phillips

        In a DGW, does a defender lose their CS points if they keep a CS in Game 1 but conceded in Game 2? I'm sure that used to happen? But have they changed that now?

          Treat them as separate matches. CS = 4 pts per match.

          Jaku Grant
          Walker Baines McAuley Smith Holgate
          Alli Mané Firmino Phillips Carroll
          Defoe Kaku Aguero

          GW 27 - Alli & Kaku -> Sigurdsson & Aguero (-4)
          GW28 - Phillips & Aguero > Snodgrass & Kaku (-4)
          GW29 - Firmino & Kaku -> Sanchez & Kane (-4)

          Is it really worth taking the hit every week?

          Good to go? Can't afford to get Aguero without taking a hit every week.

            GW28 - Sterling -> Snodgrass
            GW29 - Firmino & Kaku -> Sanchez & Kane

            I don't think the losing and getting back Lukaku and then out again for -12 is a good move how many points do you expect him to get in 28 to justify it?

            I wouldn't get Sanchez in 29 tbh. I think he can wait until 30/31. And I would hold Lukaku as he is in the form of his career

              Agree. Let Lukaku play vs Hull first and rethink your gw29 transfers.
              I would focus on Chelsea player first.

              Gw27 and gw28 sounds ok with.

            I'd say no, just Captain him. Unless one of them TCs him, your lead is safe. If they do and Aguero goes mad, you still get 2/3 of the points and the opportunity to TC Sanchez later on (more points for a goal and the chance of CS points).

          Current team:

          Foster
          Mee Robertson Pieters
          Sanchez Phillips Firminho Hazard
          Aguero Carroll Lukaku

          Subs: Valdes Carrol Mori Lovren

          0.0 ITB and 0 FT. Already taken a -4 to get Aguero in.

          Is Firminho to Sane/Sterling worth it for another hit? Would then look into getting Sigurdsson the following GW...

          What to do with Van Aanholt?

          1) Keep

          3) Mawson (-4)
          4) Kolarov (-4)
          5) Other (-4)

              Obviously it's hard to say, but I'd tend to go with A. Pulis' rhetoric seems to be that he will start if he is fit. If he is training today it seems likely he will be, as a player would not train with a hamstring strain.

          Ibra, Defoe and Aguero (c).

          Robinson, Baines, Holgate and Stanislas on the bench.

            Baines over Maguire.
            Check M.Oliver stats in terms of penalties.
            Leicester got the confidence at home and M. Dean can give them a penalty as Hull are good at causing them this season.

          One main rival in my ML, he's not getting Aguero and still has his TC to play. Should I be boring and just captain Aguero this week then cover his triple captain later in the season? I'm only 25 points ahead.
